ActionScript 3.0 :: SWF Won't Load Images / And Drag And Drop Functionality

Everything seems to work correctly locally, until I upload it to the test server. The SWF will connect to the database, but it won't load the images, and the drag and drop functionality messed up.

How can i implement drag drop functionality in Component 1 Flex grid. Also the grid should allow some functionalities related to dragged data like Allow deletion of dragged data in cells of Grid.Dragged item remains in original cell as well and in the cell where it is dragged to.If the original item is deleted, the dragged item also gets deleted.Grid should not allow data to be duplicated in same column.how is it possible in flex grid. It is a windows based application. So if any possibility of doing the same using windows application basic functionality.

i am designing a program using drag and drop functionality.i created three movie clips i.e circle_mc ,square_mc and triangle_mc.here circle is source and square is target if "circle_mc" is dragged and dropped on the "square_mc" then the "triangle_mc" should rotate 90degrees(clock wise). and if the "circle_mc" is removed from "square_mc" then the triangle should rotate 90degrees(anti clock wise).

I know how to apply a "drag and drop" to a MovieClip calling it by it's instance name, but i have a gallery of 24 images created by a Loader. And when i try to apply the drag and drop to the loaded image i can't. I thought about two possible solutions:1. Converting the loaded image to a MovieClip or putting it inside a MovieClip.2. Making a "drag and drop" that can be applied to loaded images.But i tried to get really hard to that solutions and couldn't make it. I loaded some images from an external XML file, and tried to add a startDrag() & stopDrag() on my actionscript, but it got an error. "ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property startDrag not found on flash.display.Loader and there is no default value."

I am implementing drag and drop from a DataGrid onto a List in a Flex 3 AIR application. I would like to have the drag image be a photo (jpg) referenced by a String field in the data grid item, named 'imagePath'. I'm having trouble getting the image to show up during dragging. I have triple checked that it is not because of an invalid path to the image. I have tried Image's source() and load() methods in every way I can think of. I am calling this method 'dragCurrentToList(event)' on a mouseDown event.[code]This works perfectly if I set the image source to the following bindable variable but I don't want to hardcode the image name.[code]

I would like to know how to set up the URLRequest to load an external image to a movie clip that is being used in a Drag and Drop event.I have successfully implemented the drag & drop code to my design but I would like to improve it by successfully loading external images to those objects that are being dragged around.I have both Var Load and starDrag codes. I'm trying to make a simulation where a person can drag 2 different objects to any 4 predefined targets on the stage. Based on the position of the 2 objects there will be a different output text. I hope I described that clearly. I would also like the 2 objects to snap to the 4 targets. Im very new to AS. Im starting to be able to read it a bit but still can not wright it.

I want to have an image and when I click on the image ,one can hold down the mouse and drag a copy to where ever on the stage and when one lets go, one can drag another and another with each copy still being able to be dragged after released.this is what i have but its pretty simple and doesn't work....

Im trying to do a drag and drop system where the user can drag a movie clip into an area. Although i would like to make it snap to a target instead of just sitting wherever it lands in the area. Problem Two:

I'm trying to create a navigation system that relies on the user dragging on a wheel in order to rotate it into a specific position: [URL]. The problem I have is that whenever a drag is initiated, the wheel jumps to a position where it points the zero-rotation point (indicated in the example by the red dashline) at the mouse direction. Whenever the drag is ended, the wheel stays at the position where the mouse has left it, which is correct.
However, when another drag is initiated, the same thing reoccurs - the dashed red line jumps to point towards the direction of the mouse. In short, I need the wheel to drag/rotate directly from the position where it was previously left or where it is by default. It shouldn't matter from which position the user drags the wheel. The code is located in the script of the wheel-movieClip, and is as follows:

I have added drag and drop to some of my custom components.The drag event is fired on mouse down.If you mouse down and move the component around then drop it repeatedly its fine.But if you mousedown and drag the component around drop it and THEN just click on the component it inits the drag but doesn't fire the drop event.Its almost like you have to move the component for it to fire the drag drop event.This is very annoying as i'm removing the component on drag init and adding it again on drop, so just clicking on it makes it disappear.

I'm creating an image scroller in AS2 that pulls images into Flash from an external folder, as determined by an XML file. The program use a MovieClipLoader to load the external images into series of empty, and temporarily invisible, movie clips that are created inside a for loop. Once the attached listener determines that the clips are all loaded, their visibility is turned on and they begin scrolling. Everything had been going fine, until I tried to add functionality to each of the four images that had been loaded. All I want to do is generate a trace statement that says "success" when I mouse over each of the four external images in the scroller. I can use that as a springboard to continue working...
Here is the problem: "Success" IS traced out upon rollover, but only once - when you roll over the last image that was pulled in from the RSS feed and into the for loop. It does not apply to any of the other images. It seems like the functionality on the other images is created but them somehow instantly destroyed or overwritten as the for loop continues to run and the MovieClipListener updates itself. But I am not sure. If this were simply a series of movie clips or images being pulled in from the Flash library, I wouldn't have this problem. However, the external images and the MovieClipLoader are confusing things.

I'm trying to load a local SWF Application in my Air Application via the SWFLoader class. The SWFLoader class is displayed in a new Window. Therefore, i'm trying to resize the window automatically, when the Flash Application is resizing. But here's the problem. The SWFLoader does not get any events when the loader App has been resized.
The Problem seems to be the Sandbox Restrictions. I'm able to call methods in the childSandboxBridge and parentSandboxBridge Objects that i've set in the LoaderInfo of the SWFLoaders content (the loaded SWF Application). But i cannot listen to any ResizeEvents or something like that when i'm resizing the loaded App.

I am developing a simple drag and drop game..except my draggable items are in a movie clip and my targets are also in a movie clip. My draggable objects work fine, they drag and snap back into place when the mouse is let go, but... they dont snap to their targets.They do snap to their targets when they are directly on the timeline, but inside another movie clip it doesnt work and i can't figure out why.[code]

Basically, there will be two images, which participants are to choose between. Below the pairs of images will be a horizontal bar with arrows at both opposite ends. I would like the participant to be able to drag and drop a small rectangle somewhere along the bar to represent their choice (and the degree of their endorsement).Basically, I'm asking how to make an interactive scrollbar on its side (without buttons, just the drag). I would also like it to start in the middle of the bar and be able to be moved in either direction.

I've dynamically created a bunch of MCs from a single MC in the library.
Inside the MC's timeline, I have written drag and drop code.
The MC's reside in a parent movieclip, that then resides in a scrollpane.
I was wondering if it's possible to write AS3 to drag the clips into another movieclip?
If not the way I have it, is it possible at all to drag MC's from one container MC to another?
