I have a swf which just consist of one image per frame. I want to use the scrollpane's verical scrollbar to run through the frames instead of running along the height of the swf.Is there a built-in support, straight forward way to do this?Otherwise, I might want to use a ScrollEvent listener + callback to gotoAndStop according to the ScrollPane.verticalScrollPosition.

Everything works just fine, except for the last msg gets only half displayed as if the scrollpane wouldn't scroll to the end.
I haven't been able to find a non-hack way to use Drag and Drop with the AS3 ScrollPane component.
Here's what I'm doing:
I create a container mc, which I then add a bunch of children to. The children are what I want to drag.
However, dragging is constrained to the boundaries of the ScrollPane. This seems to me like a limitation of the ScrollPane component.
I know it can be worked around with attaching a dupe mc to the cursor pos, then manipulating other mcs on mouse up, but..
I have one script which is working a treat ( using ASBroadcasters ) and then today, I copied and pasted the same script into a new site and whenever I try to register a listener, I get the dreaded "There is no method with the name addListener"... oh, and a few things. the broadcasting object is a class extending the XML class, and i have used the same script before with no issues the listening object extends the object class, and whilst this class has been freshly developed, the last time I used the ASBroadcaster methods I didn't have to extend anything for it to work.

I was using addEventListener("change",myListener) and it was working fine, then I thought of trying addListener instead, but then it didn't work. This lead me to google search what addListener does.I saw some stuff that made me conclude that there is a "listener" and there is an "event" and there's a difference between them. The Key object as 2 listeners: onKeyUp and onKeyDown , but none of the components have listeners, they just have events.I wanted to know why, and whats the difference between a listener and an event, and the difference between addListener and addEventListener.
View 8 RepliesI am importing 4 videos flv with playback component. When a video is loading, I would like an mc to be visible (like a loading mc e.g.youtube) to be sure the users understands that it's working and loading. But when it starts to play, the mc needs to disappear.

I have built an application in Flash 8 (as2) it has key listeners in it which work when run from Flash 8.When I open the application in CS3 and run it from there the key listeners no longer work. On testing I found that it only registers when pressing w u d g x and the numbers.

I had an odd occurance where a listener was firing when I pressed on another movieclip. Both functions executed, which obviously caused some trouble. I fixed the misfiring listener by creating a new child (panel) and then adding the listener's movieclip to panel.

I'm not sure why my event targets are missing when I add an event listeners to my button classes. So when I try to check which button has been clicked I can't tell a difference between them. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Everything else looks like it's coming through okay.[code]...

I've run into problems with working the navigation with this b/c I need to declare and create a single instance of workss_mc at a scope where it is visible to both click handlers, Doing this will place both handlers in one location. So in order to do that I would need them all to be where the navigation code is, the root. So how can I access workss_mc from the root?

im using key.addlisteners to check for key presses. but if a person presses all 3 keys at once (RIGHT, LEFT, UP) then releases one at a time, only the first release is noted by flash. see a demo at:

i want to publish my movie with WMODE set to transparent windowless. there is a glitch in flash that makes it so if(key.isDown(key.right)) sort of codes dont work in anything but IE when WMODE is set this way.

I don't like the way this scrollpane looks. How to change the color, shapes, etc. Can I do this through altering the code, or do I need to start from scratch?

I've got a ScrollPane on the root stage. This loads a MC called 'Stocklist_MC' (this also has a linkage/export name of 'Stocklist_MC'). When I try to use '.attachMovie' to the movieclip (Stocklist_MC) inside the ScrollPane nothing appears. All the AS is on frame 1 of root. Everything works when I use '.attachMovie' with _root. for (i=0; i<policy.length; i++) { newOpt = _root.attachMovie('Option', 'Option'+i, i); Also, if I drag Stocklist_MC to the stage I get everything working but list gets cut off at bottom, which is the reason why I need it in a scrollPane.
i am using ScrollPane to load some swf. I zoom content and use "scrollDrag = true and false ". But if i use scrollDrag = true, and than scrollDrag = false and in the content was some movie clips, that have some AS on it(maybe onPress) it will be DISABLED! every script is disabled on the MC-s what was in the content of the Scrollpane.
View 3 RepliesI have a swf that is loading another swf into a ScrollPane. The swf being loaded is large...around 4mb. My problem is that sometimes it loads fine, sometimes it loads without the scrollbar, and sometimes you need to refresh the page before it loads fully and correctly. My question: How can I easily test that it has fully loaded and that the scroll bars are displaying? I've tried various scenarios with ProgressBars, etc., but even when 100% loaded, the scroll bars do not consistently load.

see the button on the top left how it is darkened, this is the over state, but the mouse isnt actualy on the button, its above the scrollpane area, but its still being selected and is able to be clicked.
