I'm trying to create a fairly simple interface where the user can theoretically move up and down four vertical menu buttons with the cursor keys, selecting the option they prefer with the enter key. Obviously this requires focusing on a different button every time they move up or down, but I'm damned if I can figure out how to do this
I have a movie that has four different input text fields, all in separate movieClips. Inside each movie clip I have code that listens for the 'Enter' key to be pressed, and if it is, it stores the value and turns the focus off of that textField...which works great.
stage.focus = txt_firstnameEdit; I need to make the blinking cursor at the txt_firstnameEdit when I enter the stage. but the blinking cursor appeared infront of string_0. string_0 is pre-entered in the textbox in my code.
For example this is what I see in the textbox... INameless I = The blinking cursor. How do I make the blinking cursor go behind like this? NamelessI
For a project I am working on, I need the focus to be on a test field when the site loads. I can get the focus to be on the text field in the swf file, but how do I set focus to the swf file in the first place in the browser.
It successfully gives the TextField "txt" focus because when I type, the characters appear in the input textfield, however the familiar blinking text cursor/beam does not appear in the textfield. This makes you think it does not have focus, so you click the textfield to give it focus -- completely defeating the purpose.
Looking for code to enable zooming in/out on a graphic or movie clip using mouse scrollwheel with origin of scale change being at the mouse cursor position. I have one where it is at top left. I also require it to stay proportional, when applied to a rectangular graphic my code makes it go letterbox on zoom out!
My onFocusInHandler function basically removes a "promptview" that tells the user to type in a value, with the onFocusOutHandler doing the opposite.
For example, if the TextInput text was backspaced to a blank value and the user clicks out of the TextInput box, it would show a "Please enter a value" light-gray prompt in the TextInput.
This works fine until the user clicks our custom "Clear" button. The clear button sets the text to "", and I can tell the FocusEvent.FOCUS_OUT is received because the prompt text is set to visible (its not being set anywhere else). The problem is, the cursor remains in the box as if it still has focus, so if the user immediately starts typing, both the prompt text "Please enter a value" and the user-entered text appears over the gray text, which looks pretty ugly and unreadable.
Why does the TextInput receive the FocusEvent.FOCUS_OUT event if it's not actually losing focus?
I'm in and out of AS2 and it's been awhile.if this is possible to reliably create this state for an Input text field.Ideally the text area has some text in it as a prompt tot he user, and the cursor is blinking at the end of the prompt text. When the user clicks on the box, it resets to empty content and the user can type their question.I have the text area set up with prompt text, instance name. Tried this code and it does not work:[code]Right now when i click on it, the text prompt text remains and the cursor shows one line below the prompt text.
I'm trying to have a popup window with an immediately editable TextInput. This means that the user should be able to type inside the TextInput once the popup is displayed.
The problem is that I can't focus on the textInput. What happens is that when pressing a key for the first time, no text is inserted, only after a second key is pressed does the component gain focus and the user is able to type. For instance, typing "test" once the popup opened results in "est" being displayed...
For some reason the component only gains focus when the user explicitly clicks on it or types something. Programmaticaly setting the focus does not work.
I am currently working on making my Flex application accessible. I have an mx DataGrid that I am using for showing complex data. Each row contains information about a person and one of the columns contains a button to "submit" that person's information. Currently if I tab to the DataGrid, it has focus on the whole thing, but I cannot tab to individual cells. For accessibility purposes, I need the user to be able to tab to each of these cells to read the information. Everywhere I've looked I've found that it seems the only way to focus on an individual cell is to set the editable property to true. However, I do not want to make the field editable, as that information should not be changed.
At the very least I would like to be able to tab to the cell that has the button ItemRendender for each person. I could set the rest of the information in the accessibilityName of that. Is there any way to accomplish this? Or am I going to have to find a more "creative" solution?
I have a MC called Questions thats on the stage.Inside that Movie clip, there are 10 frames and four layers.The 1st layer spans all 10 frames and has a MC called logoMC and a button called nextBtn1, 2, 3, etc
The 3rd layer has frame labels for each frame: Q1, Q2, Q3, etc
The 4th layer has actions that are similar for each frame:
Code:
nextBtn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, Q1btn); function Q1btn(e:Event) {[code]....
So what should hypothetically happen in when you click on the button, it advances to the next frame in that movie clip, and focus is set to the logo. The problem is, it isnt. I get the TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties. That is pointing to the stage.focus = this.Questions.logoMC; portion of code.
I'd like to set up my splash page (all Flash) so that the login form is ready and waiting for input, without the user having to move the pointer to the first input text field and then click it.
I am a Flex newbie and I am testing a little application that simulates a cart. (It is based on a nice sample by Farata Systems' Yakov Fain).Note: I am using the beta of Flash Builder 4 to code the application.Here you have a link to the screenshot:Screenshot(Sorry I can't insert the image of the screenshot right here since stackoverflow doesn't allow new users to use image tags.)The application is very simple. You type a product in the TextInput control and then click on the "Add to cart" button to add it to the "cart" which is represented by the TextArea at the bottom.
That works ok.The problem is that I also want the user to be able to keep adding items to the cart without having to click on the "Add to cart" button. So, I added code to handle the enter event of the Textput by calling the same handler function triggered by the "Add to cart" Click event.If you type some content and then click the "Add to cart" button, the TextInput control receives the focus and the cursor, so you can type again. However, if you hit enter, instead of clicking the button, the TextInput control keeps focused and you can see the cursor beam, but you can not enter text until you click elsewhere and come back to the control.Below you can see the relevant part of the code, with the definition of the component that groups the three controls at the top (Label, TextInput, Button).
I've wrote a custom itemrenderer for a List component (Flex 3.5) which is a VBox with a Label and a TextArea wrapped inside. All works fine so far but I want the TextArea in the first itemrenderer to receive focus so that it instantly becomes editable when tabbing onto the List. Is that possible and if how would I achieve this?
I've already added an event listener that selects the item at index 0 but the textArea in it should also be focussed at that moment _list.addEventListener(FocusEvent.FOCUS_IN, onListFocusIn);
private function onListFocusIn(e:FocusEvent):void { _list.selectedIndex = 0; }
I have a mobile application that has a Text Input used for searching. Below the search TextInput is a StageWebView. When I set the source of the StageWebView using loadURL() the key input is shifted to the StageWebView. How can I prevent this?
I have a web page which has a SWF file embeded. I have an issue with the focus.
Steps to reproduce:
1)Click on a HTML Text Field which is inside a Iframe
2)Click on a Flex Field.
3)Begin to type some text.
Expected Result is the entered text should go in the Flex TextInput field but the actual Result is it goes into HTML text field.
This is the bug which was filed but closed without any resolution. The workaround suggested there doesnt work. ( bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-12377 )
This is happening only in IE 6.0 and IE 7.0. Below is the live example. [URL]
In my app, the user clicks on an object, which centers the object on the screen. The user's cursor stays where he/she clicked. I find that it is kind of disorienting to have the object move without the cursor. For the user's convenience, I would like to move the cursor to the center of the stage as well.
Is there a way to set the priority (CursorManagerPriority.HIGH) of a mouse cursor set via Mouse.cursor = '...';?
Long story short, I've had to resort to using the CursorManager to apply cursors, because setting the priority is crucial for my application due to the HTML control overriding all cursor changes without a high priority. Setting cursors with the cursor manager totally works, but the cursors aren't as fast/response as those rendered at the OS level (as described here).
If there isn't a way, my next question is: is there any way to suppress the cursor changes made by the HTML control? Setting mouseEnabled = false does it... but disables all mouse events on the HTML page, so that doesn't work.
This doesn't work:
setInterval(function():void { Mouse.cursor = 'ibeam'; }, 100); Setting a cursor with a high priority works, however: // ibeamCursor is an embedded PNG CursorManager.setCursor(ibeamCursor, CursorManagerPriority.HIGH, -2, -4);
I have a html page with 4 iframes out of these 4 one is a static html page and other 3 are html generated by flex. I have a button and list in one of the flex applications and the list will be populated on click of the button. Now what I want is to have a custom busy cursor to appear on the top of the whole html page until the list gets populated.
