Looking to emulate what flash and browsers do for buttons, switch from the cursor to the pointer hand. It seems to happen to everything seen as a button but I need it to do that on all links. This is for an exe. presentation.
I've got a couple of MovieClips on my stage that use the onRelease event to run a function, this automatically makes the mouse cursor change to a hand symbol when over the MovieClip. That's all good, but I sometimes want to 'disable' my mouse, and when it's in this state I want to change the cursor back to a pointer. This should be handled in my controller, so having a statement around my onRelease function isn't ideal.
I have two SWFs, the first is a wrapper SWF with a loading bar that fills up as the second SWF is loaded via myLoader.load(second.swf);. When testing both the second SWF and the wrapper SWF in the IDE they work perfectly. However, once in a browser the display children in the second SWF no longer cause the mouse to display a pointer curser when the mouse is over a clickable object.
I have a html page with 4 iframes out of these 4 one is a static html page and other 3 are html generated by flex. I have a button and list in one of the flex applications and the list will be populated on click of the button. Now what I want is to have a custom busy cursor to appear on the top of the whole html page until the list gets populated.
I have a cursor class and i wanna make it so the cursor change to state 'over' whenever the hand cursor is there. I dont want to add an event listener for every roll over in my page.
I'm working on my personal portfolio site and desperately need help with some AS3. my knowledge about AS3 is very rudimentary. Hope anyone who's I want to change the pointer cursor to custom movieclip when mouseover different invisible buttons. These buttons are mainly forward & backward button for my gallery. I got some help from other site but still unsolved. Please take a look at my fla attachment to point out what's wrong with the coding. To elaborate a little bit more as what I wish to achieve you can take a look at the sample URL...I just need the pointer cursor to turn to custom mc when it mouseover the hit area of the respective buttons.
I've searched for an hour now to no avail, doesent seem to be worth the trouble for something so simple.How do you remove the finger pointer icon from a button leaving the regular cursor when the user rolls over the button?
In my app, the user clicks on an object, which centers the object on the screen. The user's cursor stays where he/she clicked. I find that it is kind of disorienting to have the object move without the cursor. For the user's convenience, I would like to move the cursor to the center of the stage as well.
Is there a way to set the priority (CursorManagerPriority.HIGH) of a mouse cursor set via Mouse.cursor = '...';?
Long story short, I've had to resort to using the CursorManager to apply cursors, because setting the priority is crucial for my application due to the HTML control overriding all cursor changes without a high priority. Setting cursors with the cursor manager totally works, but the cursors aren't as fast/response as those rendered at the OS level (as described here).
If there isn't a way, my next question is: is there any way to suppress the cursor changes made by the HTML control? Setting mouseEnabled = false does it... but disables all mouse events on the HTML page, so that doesn't work.
This doesn't work:
setInterval(function():void { Mouse.cursor = 'ibeam'; }, 100); Setting a cursor with a high priority works, however: // ibeamCursor is an embedded PNG CursorManager.setCursor(ibeamCursor, CursorManagerPriority.HIGH, -2, -4);
Everything works great, but I'd really love to be able to ease the box to it's Y position, rather than moving it to it's final position immediately. I'm having a difficult time with it because the box is moved based on the mouse position, which obviously doesn't ease.
I am making use of a custom cursor on itemRenderers in a List component. The custom cursor works just fine except when I mouse over the Text component which is a child of the itemRenderer at which point I get two cursors, the custom and an iBar one on top of the other.Here's the code:
how to change the cursor when move over a chart in flex i have tried useHandCursor="true" but it's not working in charts.....and it should show values also....
I've read some previous post by others, and have got the concept of how to make it happen just need to ask a few specific questions, one is the action script for changing the movie to the cursor and telling it how to move as the mouse cursor, next question is how do i get to act as the mouse pointer for the whole page, for instance I'm using frames I've got my buttons in the left frame, with a banner it the nested top and then the pages of course load in the main frame, how when creating the mouse cursor do i get it to work all over the page? I wasn't sure if using the normal method if it acts through out the whole site or just over a flash movie.
I want a movieclip with a size of 640x2000 pixel. But only 640x480 pixel should be seen on the screen. I want to scroll up or down with the cursor keys through the movieclip ...
I'm looking to force the cursor to slow down/stop moving when it gets close to a MovieClip. Idealy you would be able to rollover the MovieClip when moving the cursor slowly but if the cursor is moving at some speed, it would be forced to stop at the edge of the MovieClip.
I'm trying to make a movieclip move with my cursor when the startGame button is clicked, however the movieclip that i'm going to parent to my cursor is in the second frame of mainMc....
there is no error generate in my code when tested but the movieclip that i;m going to parent stuck on the left side and refuses to follow my cursor? why is that happening? It would normally work if i just use it without thanks click event.....
below is my code:
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// / stop(); mainMc.startGame.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,start_Game); function start_Game(e:MouseEvent):void{
I have a movieclip that is a 3d building i also have a custom cursor that just follows the mouse. What I would like todo is have the custom cursor stop when it hits the outline of the build... the thing is that the building is 3d heres pics to explain. How would I do this
I have been trying in vain to make my movieclip look at my cursor on the X axis. The problem I have is that, when it's negative scale. it's keeps looping the 2 directions.
I'm working on a Flash project in which the user can choose to draw on the stage. To indicate to the user that it's possible to draw, I'm changing the default cursor to a pen image. I'm doing this by attaching a movieclip to the cursor, then hiding the cursor:
ActionScript Code: on (press) { penOn = true;
[Code].....
All this works great, with one problem. The line users draw appears on top of the custom cursor, so if they go back over something they've already drawn, they can't see the cursor anymore. I've tried a bunch of fixes, but nothing has worked. FYI, that first block of code I pasted is attached to the button that turns the pen on, while the second block of code is in the bottommost layer of the movie.
like my movie container in my _root, how do i set it`s alpha to 0? does this work: _root.contMovie.setAlpha(0); ? or is there any other possibility to set it`s alpha to 0?
the best thing for me would be if i could fade it to alpha via AS command, i can't control it direct because the movieclip is 2 levels above....:-)
