i have read your tutorial on the problem when resizing the browser. i found it really simple. but the example was limited to two objects on the stage. i have been working on a flash website and there are numerous objects on the stage already. since this is my first project i did not take into account the occasion when the browser will be resized. is there any way around this or do i have to specify each and every single object on stage to accommodate the resizing of the browser?

Flash :: Resizing A High Resolution Video To A Smaller Size?

Nov 2, 2011

My company sent me a video that they wanted us to post on the intranet.  It's a simple powerpoint video with a narrator talking about some policy and benefit changes, etc.

I tried the exporting the video in both 720(width) and 1280 format, and found that when shown in fullscreen mode, the 1280 format was much easier to read than the 720, however, we didn't want to show it on the intranet page at full 1280 by default.  So I modified the html and javascript that plays the movie so that it would show in 720 width on the page.  The problem with resizing the 1280 video into a 720 space is that the video player bar (where the play, stop, volume controls are) becomes extremely small when I do this.  Of course, this is because Flash generated the player with a toolbar optimized for 1280, so it's getting scaled down when I pack it into a smaller playing area.

Is there an solution to this that I haven't thought of?  How can I generate this movie to get the better full screen appearance of the 1280 video, but also still show the video in a smaller 720 area when the user is not in full screen mode?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Scale To Browser Window Only When Below A Set Resolution?

Jan 23, 2010

My swf size is approximately 1000x700. If the browser size is smaller than this it needs to scale down but if it is larger I don't want it to scale. Just like this [url]...

I've tried publishing the Flash settings at Scaleefault(Show All) which scales it but I need to stop the scaling upwards at 1000x700.

I'd have thought that I could say in the html if (width<1024){scale;} and if(height<700){scale;}. But it's not working. Should it all be done in the html?

Css :: Vertically Centering A Flash Website In A Small Browser Resolution

Jun 10, 2011

We have recently made a new Flash website for our company (URL...). The Flash module itself is 800 pixels tall. We have CSS that centers a div horizontally and vertically that's wrapped around the Flash module (you can see the source of URL...) and when someone is on a browser on a netbook or a smaller laptop (sub 15-inch, generally), they don't have enough vertical resolution (after the real estate used by the Windows start bar and browser toolbars) to see the entire site.Whether you view the html page I've made (again, at URL...) or you view the Flash module itself (URL...) the top of the Flash module clips off the top of the browser. (To see the problem if you don't have a small laptop, just don't maximize your browser window and shrink it's vertical height.)I understand why my CSS is behaving the way it is, due to the nature of the negative top margin, but is there any way to solve this issue?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Resizing The Browser?

Feb 10, 2010

I saw this site in another post and I've noticed this becomming the trend in photo galleries. [URL]When you drill down and open up a photo, the photo resizes with the browser while the rest of the movie elements expand without resizing. I'd love to know how this is done.

On a side note, it used to be impossible to resize a photo cleanly in Flash. Is something being done here or is it just improvements in Flash players?

Cross Browser Resizing Of Swf Object?

Jun 9, 2011

Basically I am working on a project which I have coded using HTML, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. The issue I have is that I want a flash object/animation to show on the first page. Now despite resizing the file within the HTML it seems that within Firefox and IE it sets a default size and doesn't fit the screen.

When tested on Safari it seemed to work fine but just doesn't show as intended on Firefox and IE.

Below you can a find a link to get a better understanding of what I mean.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Resizing Browser Dimensions?

Dec 4, 2011

I'm about 99% done with a site I'm working on and the client just hit me with a low blow. The designs that I got from their designer were a certain dimension, so I built the site with the assets based on those dimensions and now that I'm nearing the end of the project, the client seen the site on their 13 inch macbook and freaked out "everything looks too big!" is what they said. Is there a way to resize assets based on browser size without having to go in and do too much modifying? I tried looking this up, but I got a bunch of Event.RESIZE responses which I don't think I'm looking for that.

doesn't work when screen is widther than flash site.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Dynamically Resizing Page To Browser?

Apr 21, 2009

I am building a flash site for my own photography business and the site is designed in such a way that it will scale from 1200x720 down, but never up. So on the biggest monitor, the biggest this should get is 1200x720.

I am having an issue where after you resize the page down smaller than the biggest, i the main container of the content "mainStage" is too small, and even after maximizing the window, it is still stuck on a small size.

-- if you refresh the page with the window at ANY size, it works PERFECTLY.

-- if you resize the browser without refreshing the page, you will reproduce my issue.

I have uploaded the page here to be seen. [URL]

-- Here is the source for this. [URL]

i really want to get this resizing dynamically to work before i work on the rest of the page.
