ActionScript 3.0 :: Resizing/scaling Flash Movies Based On Resolution?
Apr 21, 2011
I am looking for a solution, on how to set a movie clip so it would fit to different monitor resolutions. I have found a few solutions (like changing the "px" to "%" inside the html file), but none of them give me the results I wan
We are building an application in Flex where we have to scale and reposition the circles based on the changed screen resolutions. Example: Current resolution: (800, 600) I draw a circle at position (410,290) with radius 10 Now If i change the resolution of screen to (1440, 960) then the circle should be drawn at the same place on the screen with respect to the new resolution with relative increase in the radius.
I almost finished a website for a customer, it's a full flash website running at almost 1024/768px...BUT this guy still use a lower screen resolution and tell me I have to resize evertything down...meaning a lot lot people will find this website ridiculously little.
Just want to find out something... I have a .swf video file which I open with the normal Adobe Flash player 10. What happens is that when I open that file in a smaller screen resolution there's some parts missing (cuts it off around the edges).
How can I resize the content to fit in any screen resolution?
My company sent me a video that they wanted us to post on the intranet. It's a simple powerpoint video with a narrator talking about some policy and benefit changes, etc.
I tried the exporting the video in both 720(width) and 1280 format, and found that when shown in fullscreen mode, the 1280 format was much easier to read than the 720, however, we didn't want to show it on the intranet page at full 1280 by default. So I modified the html and javascript that plays the movie so that it would show in 720 width on the page. The problem with resizing the 1280 video into a 720 space is that the video player bar (where the play, stop, volume controls are) becomes extremely small when I do this. Of course, this is because Flash generated the player with a toolbar optimized for 1280, so it's getting scaled down when I pack it into a smaller playing area.
Is there an solution to this that I haven't thought of? How can I generate this movie to get the better full screen appearance of the 1280 video, but also still show the video in a smaller 720 area when the user is not in full screen mode?
I have my Flash file embedded using swfObject and I want the Flash file to scale with the size of user's resolutions and browser windows. If I view my Flash file in the stand alone viewer it will scale properly, but not when it is embedded in the html page. I don't want it to fill the whole browser window, but stay proportional to the space it is centered on the page.
Time scaling movies in After Effects is easy, but how would I do that in Flash? Example My movie's 60 seconds. I want to play the entire movie in 30 seconds. I want to play the entire movie in 120 seconds. How do I rescale my movie using actionScript 3.0. My movies are probably going to all be the same length and frame rate, if that makes a difference.
Example Preloaders have elements effected by percentage and scale. I want to do this to movie clips, but have a defined total.
ex.
progressbar_mc.scaleX = loaded/total; //Grapefruits example revised //No errors at runtime, nothing happens? //instance of "dude"
I am developing a flash based website using mxml. My monitor's resolution is 1280x768 and is widescreen. The problem is while it appears properly in my screen it doesn't appear properly in others.
-Let scrollbars take care of it : If the screen is 14 inch screen with 800x600 resolution it appears zoomed in. So that's a problem -Get screen resolution and resize using scaleX and scaleY : The graphic components will get resized but fonts give problem.
I have finished my flash game, but when I used web Browser such as Chrome or FireFox to run it, it enlarged my game to full size of the browser. Is there anyway( in AS3 script) that I could prevent this from happening as well as hide the symbols that their sizes are bigger than my default size defined at the document property panel?
Ok this is more of a math issue than an AS issue, but in flash player 10 you can have an area of less than 16777215 pixels in order to make a BitmapData. The problem is I have an image bigger than this and for some reason I can't logically develop an equation that will take an image bigger than the resolution and scale it down so it's right under it in, and was curious if anyone has done this before.
Example: if i was trying to get something under 5,000 pixels and I had an image 300x60 that is a resolution of 18,000 what multiplier would i use on the height and width of the image so it stays the same aspect ratio and stays under 5,000 pixels.
I'm working on a flash site, but I want the site to resize to the user's screen resolution...I'm new at actionscript and flash, but what is the most efficient way to accomplish this?
i am making flash website in AS3 and i have i problem with resizing.I tryed a houndrit codes, classes, examples, tutorials bud nothing worked correctly. In main timeline a have two movieclips first is as a background and second as wholesite. I dont want to resize Background. I want to resize WholeSite movie clip only. It will resize to browser resolution. But width and height stay constrain - width go resizing with height. Here is my FLA: http:....and here is test of that site: http:....
I have a project that's 1024x768. However, on screens with a resolution of 1024x768, the users still have to scroll (the project is too big to fit in the browser window). Is there a way to allow scaling of the project only if it's too big for the user's window? I don't want the project to always scale to fit the window size. I only want to scale it down if it's too large to fit on screen without scrollbars.
At _level0, external movies are loaded through a movieclip using loadMovie("externalmovie.swf","targetmc");
1. Obtain the external movies' resolution/dimension (e.g. 800x600 px) using actionscript.
2. Assume the movies have different dimensions and are smaller than or equal to _level0's dimensions. If they are smaller, you have to scale up the movie until it reaches the largest size possible, to fit into _level0's dimensions. Again, the external movies are loaded using a target mc and not using levels
3. Note: Remember that when movies are loaded through target MC, they inherit the properties of that mc, so if the size of the mc is 600x600, the external movie would be so too, even if it were 800x600px . This means that you may not do a direct [AS]MC._xscale = 200;[/AS] to it.
* The _level0 movie will serve as a master swf where the different external movies will load into, and consecutively play (one at a time), automatically (ergo, without having to manually open and quit and open and quit the movies).
I have a List Component being resized at runtime based on the size of the Stage. It seems to scale the content rather than just changing the bounds of the list. Is there a way to change its size programatically without scaling the content?
I have custom flex component inherited from UIComponent (compiled, no source code access). It has fixed width-to-height proportions and it's scalable. If I set its width and height to 100%, it's trying to fit parent's size, but it keeps width-to-height proportion, so if it's proportion does not equal parent's proportion, there can appear empty space near this component when resizing parent.
What I need, is to fit my component completely to parent's size. Is there any nice way to do this? I could listen to parent's resize event, and play with component's scaleX and scaleY
I have a 1900 x 1240 .swf file that has a set of buttons on each side. Each button calls for and loads a single movie into a 900 x 600 area in the middle of the screen. I haven't had any trouble setting things up so that the .swf movies, including a converted QTVR file, all load into that 900 x 600 area. One of my buttons calls for a .swf movie that contains a zoom-in and rescale - the link for how this was created can be found at Flash Zoom In Movie Clip and Rescale. The stage for this file is set at 900 x 600. When this Zoom.swf is loaded up by pressing the button, it resizes itself to 1900 x 1240. As well as being annoying, this obliterates the view of all my buttons and interface. I just can't figure out how to make it sit in the middle of the screen at a size of 900 x 600.
I have a Bitmap. Let's say it's 100x100 in size. I would like to display that bitmap on a Sprite that for the sake of this example is 100x50. Since the height of the bitmap is double than the height of the sprite - I would have liked the bitmap to be cropped (and to later implement a "scroll-down" mechanism) - HOWEVER, apparently:
1. The size of an "empty" sprite is defined by the size of its first children(s) - once I addChild the bitmap into the sprite - the sprite becomes 100x100 (If I try to define the size of the sprite to 100x50 before adding the child, and then adding it - then nothing is displayed).
2. If I then try to resize the sprite by modifying its Height property - the bitmap get's "scaled-down", or rather "squashed-in" to fit the new size.I'd like the bitmap to retain its original size (and be cropped at the bottom). Can it be done (without copyPixeling to a different bitmap etc.), and if so how?
btw:(3) If after all that I try to scale the bitmap back up (by changing scaleY) - then the sprite itself is again gets scaled and resized with it...
Ive seen this done in some website, the image while resized (down of course) doesnt lose quality. When I tried to scale the loader it loses quality. I even tried to use bitmapdata for that but it seems the result is the same.
'i am doing a game for children where users can drag and drop resize and scale movie clips on stage! The drag and drop is not an issue...however im not quite sure how to do all the rest... is there a way or a tutorial to do this?
i am looking for class or something to proportional outside scaling of stage and all included objects (internal or external).I know SWFfit and LiquidStage. I have got many problems with integrating SFWfit to my code (resizing is not affected to included objects). LiquidStage seems to be ok but it`s not freeware . I am looking for free possibilities to do it.I am trying to connect that with GAIA framework.
I have been looking to scale an object up if it's less than 70-px from the center of the object. I started to use the below and at least the distance was working but when combined with the conditional it all falls apart as the object mousePoint changes rapidly. This works fine when tracing:
ActionScript Code: var mousePoint:Point = new Point(this.mouseX,this.mouseY); var mcPoint:Point = new Point(0,0);
Basically, I want to have 5 bullet points on this flash document, and as you move your mouse, it measures the distance from the mouse to the text (each bullet point measured separately) and it effects the scale of the text. I don't want it to be drastic, but just something people would notice when they move their mouse around on the page to give the user a little bit more interactivity with this particular page.
Is it possible to do what this tutorial shows but instead of having your mcs be positioned related to the stage, have them be positioned related to the browser window?
I want to know is there anyway to invisible title bar for a AS3 project? and how to force program to use fix resolution and change monitor resolution to what we want?
