Jan 23, 2010i'm gonna make a flash banner in cs4 to be placed on the webpage of a friend. the flash header is going to contain 6 images and some text, all this is easy to do in flash.but i'm wondering about how to publish it to the web, is a swf file and the html file enough? i want to create a text document where my friend later can exchange the images and the texts for his webpage, without him having to do this in the flash programme itself. is this possible?

In the hud, I have created an editable text, which I assume would be the same as a dynamic text (I recently transitioned to as3). The editable text also has an instance name. As I create number variables, how would I go about having the variable numbers show up inside the editable text?

Mar 9, 2012I am trying to make a feed backbox for visitors on my website. I have made the editable text field and scroll bar and set all of my preferences, but when the typing reaches the border on the right of the text field it just continues to type further horizontaly. I can start a new line by pressing enter but I would like it to start a new line on its own when it reaches the boundary.

I want my user to be able to add a text box to the stage that they can move(drag and drop) and go back and change the text later. I have implemented this using a TextArea with a change event handler that parses the text the the user pastes - splitting it up by newlines and tabs - and adding it to the ArrayCollection that is bound to the grid. However, it makes no sense for users to be able to manually enter text into the TextArea. How can I prevent them from doing so?

(send) - Sends to my email
And I want to make it so people can copy a paste a link from lets say you tube on to it.
I have the text in TLF format to allow it so I can change the color of the input box where the text is located. (Because I do not know how to do it on classic) how to make the box color of the editable text section a different color other then white? (If its a problem.)
Whenever I try to copy and paste as is it shows up but its in a different text style, and its hidden. (That may just be because my text box is black as well.) but i'd still like it to have the same text style when you do paste.)

May 18, 2011I am making a website that needs to read a RSS feed from a blog and then place the information into flash. I have gotten as far as getting the information into flash and viewing it. However I can't get the scrolling functions to work nor do anything else with the feed. The goal is to be able to format the feed in the way that it is online so that it is scrollable but only the most recent post on the feed. Do I have to change how the information is being used in flash to better manipulate it such as xml? Or is is something I've overlooked while using the rss feed code?

May 23, 2011All i have a flex editable datagrid. By default if i press the left navigation arrow key , it moves to the left but not to the next cell. I would like to override the keydown event such that if the left navigation arrow key is pressed down i set the focus to the next cell on the left.
In short the user needs to be able to navigate using the keyboard through the cells using just like in excel(currently the arrow keys move between characters within a cell).
Php :: Maintaining Line Breaks In Flash TLF Editable Field?
Oct 14, 2011I have a TLF editable field in a(n) swf file. Text entered there gets sent to a php page where everything is processed. I had the behavior set for multiline, but just realized that if someone hits return and keeps typing, no break is displayed (not even a space). I've tried using nl2br() in the php when it grabs the POST variable from flash, but that doesn't work. I don't know how flash handles the carriage return, so I don't know how to handle it on the php side either.

May 2, 2011I've got a few questions for the technical side of a project we're working on and I'd really just like to know if it would be possible before I present it to the rest of my group. The idea is to create a wall on which the user can write down several words on their chosen locations (like a brainstorm), then click one of them to continue with it..
Is it possible to create an editable textfield at the cursor's position on a mouseclick and (if even needed) make it active so the user doesn't have to click twice? And then repeatable on multiple locations on the workarea..
I'm assuming the text autoresize function would still work and that I could add a random small rotation to it (It has to look like you're writing on a wall).
Then, on the next step, I'd like the user to be able to pick one and click on that to continue.
I'm guessing it involves creating a movieclip with a textfield in it and then load that from the library on the canvas on mouseclick.. What I'm most worried about is the user having to click twice to actually start typing..

Nov 3, 2009I'm working with a flash template that loads external images and text using an xml file. Everything works well the only problem is I've promised a client that as well as a "title" and "description" I will also include a clickable URL link. I can edit the flash to a certain extent but I am having a nightmare of a time including a clickable url. Is there anyone out there who can help? "photo_description", "photo_title" and "photo_url" are the names of the dynamic text fields.

Jan 12, 2007Basically I have a photography site that I update regularly with client images and new information, but me and flash doesn't exactly get on! I bought a flash template and have spent about a month fiddling about and slowly learning how flash works, and my knowledge of flash (non-existant) has shot up dramatically, but there are still things that baffle me. Is there any way of having an area on the page which looks at an XML for the information - text in some cases and photographs in another? How to layout the xml.

Oct 23, 2010I have a flash movie with about 350 frames, each frame is a mixture of text and between 1 and 10 images, later on I might add some download file links, website links and videos to some of the frames. I have a menu at the top of the movie which lets you flick between each frame, so by clicking the menu button "image 20" you are taken to frame 20, click menu button "image 135" and you are taken to frame 135 and so on, very simple. I also have 2 buttons at the bottom of my movie, these buttons let you go backwards and forwards through the frames. If you are on frame 50 and click "forward" button, then you go to frame 51, click the "back" button on frame 50 and you would go to frame 49.
At the moment I simply use

Which of course would take you to frame 4.
My movie has nothing else, that's it, very simply and very little action-scripting on each button. At the moment my movie just flicks between each frame which doesn't always look very nice, so I want to change it so that the frames do a slide effect. So if you are on frame 15 and click the "forward" button, it would slide from frame 15 to frame 16, so as frame 15 slides to the left hand side, frame 16 would slide in from the right hand side. Or, if you were on frame 21 and clicked the top menu button "image 320", then frame 21 would slide to the left hand side and frame 320 would slide in from the right hand side.
And it would do the slide animation seamlessly and smoothly, I saw some examples online which didn't look very smooth when doing a slide, so it would be good if I could make it as smooth as possible during animation. I have search around online and the only examples I can find are image galleries, which seems to have action-scripting far beyond my capabilities at the moment, or they work in a way that is not any good for what I want to do. I use action-scripting 2, but I could change this to action-scripting 3, I am also using CS4.

Aug 25, 2010how I can have my swf fill the entire browser (as in publish settings 100% w & h etc) but not stretch/distort the text and images in the swf.
There is a site [URL] that does this. It fills the whole screen yet when you resize, the objects do not become distorted.
I may have the wrong approach with publish settings width & height 100%??
