i'm gonna make a flash banner in cs4 to be placed on the webpage of a friend. the flash header is going to contain 6 images and some text, all this is easy to do in flash.but i'm wondering about how to publish it to the web, is a swf file and the html file enough? i want to create a text document where my friend later can exchange the images and the texts for his webpage, without him having to do this in the flash programme itself. is this possible?

I want to create a game that has a HUD, showing the player's energy, money and the number of days that has passed. In the hud, I have created an editable text, which I assume would be the same as a dynamic text (I recently transitioned to as3). The editable text also has an instance name. As I create number variables, how would I go about having the variable numbers show up inside the editable text?
I need to put together an editable text area that has a custom caret (cursor) which is different from the default blinking vertical line. Is the caret a "skinnable" property of text input? note that I am not asking about the mouse pointer cursor which can be set using the CursorManager.

I am trying to make a feed backbox for visitors on my website. I have made the editable text field and scroll bar and set all of my preferences, but when the typing reaches the border on the right of the text field it just continues to type further horizontaly. I can start a new line by pressing enter but I would like it to start a new line on its own when it reaches the boundary.
People have asked how to make a text editor with css formatting before and the answer has always been with reference to the manual - "it can't be done".But what if you didn't accept that something can't be done?I'm thinking some sort of translation class to convert between textformat and css.Or bin the css for the moment of editing and then reapply when the user has finished.

I'm trying to implement a feature like the text boxes in adobe photoshop. I want my user to be able to add a text box to the stage that they can move(drag and drop) and go back and change the text later. I also want to be able to keep track of the text boxes so I can let the user change the color, etc. How can I do this?
Users need to be able to paste the contents of an Excel spreadsheet into a grid in my flex application. I have implemented this using a TextArea with a change event handler that parses the text the the user pastes - splitting it up by newlines and tabs - and adding it to the ArrayCollection that is bound to the grid. However, it makes no sense for users to be able to manually enter text into the TextArea. How can I prevent them from doing so?
The project I'm working on requires a text field that the user can input an equation and the result is passed on to a variable. The problem is whenever you put in an equation it always comes out zero. If you just put in a number it passes it on properly. Below is a simplified example of what I'm trying to do.[code]...
I am currently trying to figure out how to have an editable small text box.
The text box will have a default value of lets say "default 1", but will be able to be overided when its compiled to, lets say "Layer 1". Is this possible at runtime? Basically I want to achieve the same goal as just like renaming a layer within flash.

And I want to make it so people can copy a paste a link from lets say you tube on to it.
I have the text in TLF format to allow it so I can change the color of the input box where the text is located. (Because I do not know how to do it on classic) how to make the box color of the editable text section a different color other then white? (If its a problem.)
Whenever I try to copy and paste as is it shows up but its in a different text style, and its hidden. (That may just be because my text box is black as well.) but i'd still like it to have the same text style when you do paste.)

I downloaded a free flash banner from [url]......,I tried contacting the site's owner in Germany but no answer from him therefore I am seeking help elsewhere. I would like to adjust the banner in 2 ways, first, create rounded edges so the left and right ends look oval in shape and if possible I would like to slow down the speed at which the text changes,
I want to load the text on this page into flash, how would I go about doing that? And then after that, how would I load that text to the end of link? How do I make a text box?
I'm going crazy trying to figure out how to change the text on this banner. The person setting up my website isn't available anymore. I have this slide show with a transparent banner at the top and photos that I can manipulate. I can also change the order by modifiying the file Images.xml:
I've made a few sites a few years ago with flash CS3/AS2 and using the TextArea as an output for xml content. that really sucked and looked terrible as it flashed white everytime it was loading (especially on slow connections). so I don't want to go that route again.sir!ok, so I have a banner that has 3 text elements per page (with various graphics per page behind the text) ...all text needs to be live as it is fed by 3 different languages. (referably the image link too)1. consistant big title across 8 pages2. sub-title that changes per page3. paragraph of text per sub-title4. the background imageEach of the 8 "slides" lasts about 6 seconds each (this part im fine with and sorted in AS2...but not AS3). On the top left are 8 numbered buttons that a user can click on to view whichever "slide" they may have missed or whatever. (this part i'm ok with....just the external text and formating are the issue)how would i go about setting this up via dynamic text with either XML or PHP in CS4/AS3? (using dynamic text fields, but so its nicely formated).

I downloaded a template for a friend tothem get a website up and running quickly.The template is bassically a Flash movie and a Content.xml file. am using Flash CS4 ver 10.0.2I can open and edit the .fla (or not make any change at all), when I publish to the .swf file and launch the index.html to veiw the Flash, I loose some of the content text. It litterally disapears. Not all text is gone. The titles, headings and other content text is there but the content for the main pages is gone.
In my looking at the FLA, I see that some of the text is embedded. Could this be a place to start looking?I can reload the original SWF and the text is there, the second I publish a new one, it's gone. I can provide a link to a zip of my files if someone cares to look at them.Also, I am publishing with settings of Flash 8 and AS2. If I try to change to AS3, it tells me that Flash functionality will not work right.
I'm currently working on a LARGE flash presentation broken up into many small flash movies. the files play fine in the timeline, but SOMETIMES when publishing as .swf, the text is not visible, but all the other objects and tweens play as normal. My co-worker is also having this same issue, but we can not figure out why. It seems random and does not happen with all of the files. We are copying and pasting symbols from file to file. i don't think that is the issue, though. i wonder if anyone else is experiencing this or knows why. causing LOTS of extra time spent remaking presentations.
I am making a website that needs to read a RSS feed from a blog and then place the information into flash. I have gotten as far as getting the information into flash and viewing it. However I can't get the scrolling functions to work nor do anything else with the feed. The goal is to be able to format the feed in the way that it is online so that it is scrollable but only the most recent post on the feed. Do I have to change how the information is being used in flash to better manipulate it such as xml? Or is is something I've overlooked while using the rss feed code?

: Flash Media Interactive Server. Hi, Im curious if we can publish on multiple sites, I have 5 websites all password protected for members, and I want all 5 members areas to be able to view my live video as I publish it. So can I embed the flash player on all 5 sites and have it pick up the same live feed. Also was wondering if interactive server supports or has a chat box, so students can type questions as I am explaining things live. And One last question Can I stream my video from different computers or can I only use one ( the one I register it on ) I want other teachers to be able to use thier webcams from there homes and publish live videos as I do on my sites. ( At different times of course )
