I'm trying to use the Profiler for the first time so I don't know much about it. But it doesn't seem to work.I run my project under profiler, it says it is running, but no window shows up. Nothing. I can see the project's icon down there but I see no window at all.Can this be cause by the fact that I'm using Flex 4.5? You can the app in the dock and it shows its live objects, but I don't see the apps' window and cannot interact with it. The app is just a simple 400x400 window with some black shapes in it.
I'm migrating a FlashIDE Actionscript 3.0 project to Flashdevelop Actionscript 3.0 (Pure AS). I've noticed that assets importing and project structure are different. What are the other things to lookout for when doing a migration?
I need to import a flex project into FlashDevelop. However I am unable to find the .actionScriptProperties file. How would I be able to import the project?
It would be great if someone could help me out with it.
I'm currently hunting a memory leak related to XML objects. FDT's profiler shows results that match my expectations while Adobe's profiler doesn't show any XML objects at all.
Are there any differences between Adobe's profiler that comes with Flash Builder and FDT's profiler or is that a configuration issue?
I've got an ActionScript 3 project in FlashDevelop. How can I embed an FXG file and use it? I've tried to import the file directly (import graphics.Filename) and instantiating it, but doesn't draw anything.
I built an AS3 image gallery using FlashDevelop. Before I zip up the application, I can run the image gallery in my browser by simply opening the index.html for the project. Everything works perfectly. I then zip up the project as proj-0.1.2.zip using winrar. I then unzip this newly created zip and try to load the application using the project index.html like above. The gallery doesn't function properly. From seeing what happens, it appears as though the image metadata is not present(but I'm not sure, see below).
There are other applications as well that are broken. Videos don't load. If an application doesn't depend on any external assets then everything looks fine. Another thing..If I then build the FlashDevelop project and republish the swf..then it works in the index.html like I want. What is going on here? I want people to be able to fire up my demo apps out of the box by just running the index.html. If that doesn't always work and they have to figure out that they need to rebuild the SWF then that's pretty bad.
I am trying to get a RTMP messaging application working in FlashDevelop and FluorineFx. I am used to connecting with a NetConnection in FlexBuilder 3 with some hackery but I am drawing a blank getting this to work with FlashDevelop. I have a FluorineFx website with a configuration file WEB-INFflexservices-config
Can anyone offer a clue as to why flashdevelop would compile to a smaller swf than Flash Builder?The FD swf is 150k, FB swf is 220k.I'm exporting as a release build in FB.
My Flex application has some memory problems which I'd like to find using the profiler. However, when I run the profiler from Flex Builder, nothing happens. The appication is run the regular way, but nothing is profiled. The Profiling perspective doesn't event open, and when I open the Profiling perspective, no memory usage is displayed. Can anyone help me out here?
I was trying to find a bandwidth profiler in flex like there used to be one in Flash but couldn't really find one. Is there a way, that I can do bandwidth profiling of my local swf?I'm using Flex Bulider with a AS3 project.
I have an AIR/Flex app I made, I have a few people testing it and everyone is reporting that after leaving it running for a while, it is making all there machines run very slow. It runs fine at first so this must be a memory leak somewhere. I used the profiler on this and the only thing that shows as using a substantial amount of memory is MethodQueueElement which is not a class I wrote, and I have no idea what it does, I am assuming its part of the Flex framework. I am not familiar with using a profiler so I am not sure what all I shuld be looking at, that was the only class that was high on "memory" and it said it had over 100,000 instances. If this is my problem what can I do to fix it?

i'm studying getPixel32() and the Bitmap and Bitmap Data classes.Basically, i'd like to know how to output a simple trace of an ARGB from a hexadecimal value.as an aside, i'm under the impression, which i assume/hope is wrong, that hexadecimal values can't produce as many colors as RGBA values.perhaps "web safe" has thrown me off with understanding the usefulness or desire to use colors produces with hexadecimal values.
With parent artifactId of swf, swc, war set to swf, swc, test respectively.On executing mvn on test folder(for that matter clean or anything) I get this following error.

Looks like its trying to download the project from maven's central repository instead of building it.
I have been programming with as3 for the past 4 months and Ive been getting rather good at it. I just recently decided to work with flashdevelop. I notice that there is alot of code that is availible in the flex sdk that isn't available in as3 with flash cs4. Like embedding of assets and such. I've been trying to find some up to date tutorials on how to embed things like xml and so far the tutorials are inaccurate or unclear about how to go about doing so. Ive been trying to find some good books that cover that and havnt been able to.
The books either cover as3 with flash or as and flex builder. Which is more towards working with the mxml. I havnt been able to find any books on how to work with as3 and flex sdk. Which show examples like embedding of xml and so on. I was just curious does anyone know of any good books that cover EVERYTHING there is to know about as3 and the flex sdk. Not so much on flex builder and mxml.
In a sense, I just want to get better with working with as3 projects with flashdevelop. And it would be great if there was books that covered that. Cause lets just face it, We developers sometimes just get sick of searching the web for bits of pieces of things. and its just great to have that one good book that references everything.
I'm new to using ByteArray, and am trying to parse hex color values from an .ase (Adobe Swatch Exchange) using ByteArray in AS3. I can see position of the hex values using a hex editor, but don't know which methods to use to parse the hex value from there. Here are the values copied from the hex editor. The 2 color values are #ffffff and #cdcdcd:

I have flash set up to read an external .jsp file.the problem is that this jsp file contains names with chars such as "&" and "â„¢" among others. when flash loads this file it halts when it hits those chars. does anyone know how to fix this problem?
I'm using FlashDevelop (cos it's free!) with Flash CS4. Is FlashDevelop basically the opensource version of Flex or is it something completely different again? Or is that what AIR is?

I've recently started making a game in FlexBuilder. The game is currently a Flex project. Is there any downside to using Flex as opposed to just Actionscript? A friend of a friend told me that Flex is slower than an Actionscript project. I've been unable to validate this on the internet; is there any truth to that claim?
