ActionScript 3.0 :: Video Can't Cover Whole Screen Area
Nov 27, 2009
I am playing a video and created a button which displays video area in fullscreen but video doesn't cover whole screen area, there are blanks left and right of the video. I searched a bit and every flash player i found with full screen option in fact resizes the video the same way, it just doesn't cover whole area. Why is that? Can video in full screen mode be resized to cover whole screen area without those blanks at sides?
Of course, when the mouse rolls over the graphic, the button beneath it is not clickable.Without going into all the reasons why I can't incorporate the graphic into the button itself... is there a way in AS3 to programmatically make that graphic virtually "transparent" - so that it doesn't interfere with the button's rollover and hit states?
how I can make a 95% black MC cover everything on the website page (full screen onResize) so I can present an externally loaded image by itself? I have seen this done before in a few flash portfolio websites but I can't seem to find the solution on any previous thread. I may have missed some threads. is there an actionscript that can do all of the above without having to resize an MC?
I have a Youtube video on my homepage, and now I need a modal to display on certain events.For some reason, even when adding <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> to the Flash object, it still covers the HTML elements (with higher z-index too).I've got it on JSfiddle.I figured maybe an iframe could solve this, but that would require me to make a new page just to put the video on.
In my Flex application, the modules can be larger than the resolution of the screen and have a vertical scrollbar.When the user clicks somewhere, I popup a small component at the position of the mouse co-ordinates.However, if the user clicks too close to the edges of the screen, I need to prevent the component from appearing outside the viewable area.For this purpose, I need to know the dimensions of the viewable area. I've tried Capabilities.screenResolutionX and Capabilities.screenResolutionY, but they this area will include the browser toolbars.
I've been trying to attempt to make it so a .flv video will fit to the entire screen of the browser window. ( I already have my .swf file fit to re-size to any browser on any computer. I just can't figure out how to make the video as well) And obviously an external video so the flash file wont take forever to load.The point is this is to be able to have the Video be the background. So I may put content (Links, information or whatever else) on top of the video.
I am trying to get a box_mc to fade out if the mouse is in a set area of the screen, but if the mouse is in a different segment to reappear. I have set up a timer to detect mouse position and got the functions working but I dont know how to pause the timer in order for the fade to take effect.
import fl.transitions.Tween; import fl.transitions.easing.*; var timer1:Timer = new Timer(10)
Is it possible to take a screen shot (using the Print Screen) and paste it from the System Clipboard directly into a web pages text area field (which I would create)? Do I need a browser plug-in? Can Flash do this?
I'm trying to achieve a simplified version of the move to screen area and zoom nav similar to: [URL]. I've read and completed the macromedia tweening tutorials [URL] and gained overview of tween class etc., So, I created an example (credit :sophistikat) using the macromedia tween class:
Code: import mx.transitions.Tween; import mx.transitions.easing.*; myBtn.onRelease = function () { //first move to center in one second witih no delay main_mc.tween("_x", 50, 1, "easeinoutElastic"); main_mc.tween("_y", 50, 1, "easeinoutElastic"); // and in 2 seconds scale closer main_mc.tween("_xscale", 150, 1, "easeinoutElastic", 2, true); main_mc.tween("_yscale", 150, 1, "easeinoutElastic", 2, true); }
The script in layer 1, the bt in layer 2 and the main_mc in layer 3 - all correctly 'instanced'. But not working - the main_mc isn't moving and then zooming in when btn is clicked.
I have a FLV playing in Flash with a full screen button. The problem is I want only the video to be shown full screen, not the entire stage. This is the code I'm using to make the video fullscreen.
function fullScreenUP(event:MouseEvent):void { if (screenCheck == false) { stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;
I'm tweaking the video code found here [URL] His progress bar starts at the edge of the stage. My progress bar starts at x=40 into the stage. My problem is that even though all my mcs related to the progress bar are positioned properly the scrubber mc hops to the edge of the screen when the video starts. It also acts as if the progress bar you scrub though is at the edge of the screen too. I can't figure out why it's doing this. There's nothing in the code to tell it to do as such.
I created simple swf. It contain more than one video (for example 4). FLVPlayback component used to play the video.It works fine. When i enter full screen of the first video it shows the fourth video. If i did continuously means the component size changed automatically.
I have a flash video that is set to autoplay when the page loads. We've just implemented thickbox/lightbox system on it now so when you click on the video it enlarges into that new frame. Problem is, when that's done the video/audio is still playing while the video in the thichbox is playing too. This leading to ineffective listening. Does anyone know a code that would trigger the video to pause when clicked anywhere on the video screen?
I am creating a full screen projector with flash CS4. In the projector I have more videos, starting from an swf player-
The problem I encounter is this:
The projector starts correctly FULLSCREEN (using AS). The video plays 900x506 correctly. If I click on the player, to get the video full screen, it works. But when I press ESC, not only the video, but also the PROJECTOR looses full screen.
This is a bit annoying. Is there a way to apply the "back to normal size" only to the video? I do not want to prevent the app to be exited from full screen, it's not a problem if the user wants to exit the projector full screen. But not when the user exits the video from fullscreen mode.
How do you create the example like "Ninja unboxed 2". The flash video seems to take over the whole browser window. Or even better as the example above has been removed [URL]
Normally we use NetStream.Seek method but it will make the seek after the buffer area crossed the seek time length.(HTTP). Can we seek the video that is beyond the buffered area like youtube in red5. Will it start the buffer from the seek point.
I have this world map (.swf file) that I want on my home page(black background). It's up and working fine, but it flashes a white blank map for about 2 seconds when it first loads and then it goes away. It looks very ugly on a black background and gives off a sense of "cheapness". Anyway, it has got to go. I purchased the world map and they don't offer access to the original .fla file. So basically I want to know how to cover up the first few seconds of the video with black and then have the black cover disappear and let the flash file do its thing.
i have a drop down menu am working on and each button tab (although they are not button instances !) when clicked opens up the "drop down" section which you can mouse over to choose another specific button etc - if you mouse out of that drop down area then it pulls back up to the original tab state .. what do i change to the code below to decrease the area that you mouse out of to make the drop down area pull back .....at the moment it at least two inches on the screen below and to the right of boundaries of the drop down box before it pulls up - i want to it pull up as the mouse leaves the boundary box .... hope this makes sense .... there is some part of the actionscipt below that controls this but can work out which bit and how to change it !!! (am guessing the x mouse and y mouse bits - but how to change it ???)
public static function cloneDpObj(target:DisplayObject):Bitmap { var duplicate:Bitmap;
[code]....
to clone target displayObject (MovieClip or Sprite) and return Bitmap Object.
It can get bitmap from the target object, but it seem don't get all the area of the image.
By give the width and height of target object, but the target object in design was applied by Glow Effect, so my question can we get the all view of bitmapdata from a displayobject?
I have a movie clip named circle_mc(see the image on the link below) and a mask object(movie clip) which determines visible area of the circle. User can change the portion which is visible (extend the red area and make it red+blue, gray area is invisible). I need to find proportion of visible area to invisible area (red+blue/gray) so that I can calculate angle.
I would like to first add the xml to my flash. Fine I can do this.But I have a number of buttons, where when I click say CW1, i get the information from the XML file with a node of CW1. I have all the xml set up fine.As I have about eight different postcode types.
ST, CW, CH, TF, WV, WS, DE, SK, SY, and each of these may have numbers that follow, i.e ST1, ST2, ST3 and so forth.
So I can only assume that the postal area could be the main nodes, and the numbers inside the child nodes, am I right thus far.o how can i load the area of the xml file into my text area on mouse click, pulling the information relating.
Something that is similar to the Cover Flow in iTunes.
I can use Adobe Flash, Flex, or pure html/javascript.
HOWEVER, I need a pointed to production ready code. I've looked at plenty of examples in both Flex and HTML that aren't ready for prime time. No demo code needed.
Here's my requirements for production ready:
1) Memory leaks are under control.
2) Works like a river with larger data sets, paging in sub-sets in some set number. The component/code needs to be able to handle 100+ items to flow through, preferable up to 500.
I want to show a full 24 hours along the datetimeaxis wherever the values fed into it happen to fall. I thought that setting the minimum and maximum of a datetime axis on the chart would have that effect.
so I have private function loadDayComplete():void{ //called when data is reloaded. also includes reassigning the dataprovider of the chart.
[Code]...
When I load up the function though it doesn't plot any points when the min and max are set. If I take out the minimum and maximum they show up fine! I double checked in debug mode that the minChartDate and maxChartDate are what they should be.. but maybe I'm misunderstanding how minimum and maximum are supposed to function... I also tried widening the min/max to include several days and still no luck. I also tried assigning the min/max when the chart data changes like so:
I have created a Carousel with CoverFlow where images are imported from Flickr. Now I would like to import images from an XML file so I replaced the relevant code with code from a past project that consisted of designing a Papervision 3D Carousel. The problem is that my CoverFlow Carousel consisted of a Cover with Bitmap images while my Papervision 3D Carousel consists of a plane that loads/saves images through BitmapFileMaterial. Flash does not seem to accept that I insert a BitmapFileMaterial into a cover.
It gives me error 1067 (translated from German to): Implicit change of a value of type org.papervision3d.materials:BitmapFileMaterial into an unrelated type flash.displayisplayObject. In my code below I commented next to the function that causes the problem.
