I'm using the following code to create a simple slideshow:

This thing is giving me a headache. See code below. The issue here is that my first image preloads OK, but then the second image gets jammed at 25-30% and never loads. The third and forth image preloads OK and the same issue with the fifth image. And sometimes the issue is on the last 4 images.

Here is a very simple xml slide show. What I want is to implement one preloader at the very beginning of the slideshow so the user do not see any blank page at the beginning.
I also want to implement the preloader before loading each image by clicking the next and previous buttons.

I have a simple slide show that just used timeline tweening(no actionscript) named slideShow.swf.I have another swf named loadSS.swf that I load slideShow.swf into this file has a preloader in it.I have a 3'rd swf named loadLoadSS.swf that simply loads loadSS.swf.The preloader in loadSS.swf works fine when I run it standalone.When I run loadLoadSS.swf the slideshow runs but the preloader doesn't.I don't want the preloader to run on the final destination because it's a website with a long timeline and many levels and the slideshow will be shown in many places and it just gets complicated. If the slideshow can just provide it's own preloader life will be much simpler.[code]

I've got an image slideshow, and a preloader for each individual image. I want the preloader BAR to be dynamically assigned the width of the banner, which is defined in a variable. Here are my preloader settings and function call:

Basically, what is happening is. The "progressBar" width is being defined as the variable BANNER_WIDTH, but when the _xscale property is run in my preloading function, it doesn't care what the banner width is. So what I want to say is. I want you to _xscale according to what is being loaded, but I don't want your _xscale to exceed BANNER_WIDTH's width. I don't know how to do this and keep the preloader accurate. I can only save as CS4, CS5.

i have a slideshow with a delay of for example 3 seconds, and a preloader which is a line with a 100px final length.i start preloading next image.now if the time until next image loads is longer than slideshow delay, i will show next image as soon as it loads.if the time until next image loads is shorter that than slideshow delay, i want to wait additional time until delay and then show the image.the problem is how do i represent smooth line width grow (being enter frame or tween) by calculating/comparing 2 values together (delay and loader percent, which goes from 0 - 100) ?if my line growth represent just a slideshow delay, then when it gets to an end, if next image still hasnt loaded, then it wont look good if line has come to an end, but i still have to wait.

I have created a pie preloader(preloader.zip) which is working fine. Same preloader I am trying to incorporate in a xml based slideshow(slideshow.zip) to show image loading process but some how I got stuck. I am new to flash. Suggestions are welcome.
1. How to solve the problem of preloader2. Is it possible to integrate everything in a movie clip (including AS). I mean no AS on main time line but inside the movie clip. It would be much easier then to to create multiple slideshows by duplicating mc and changing the xml file.

I just started working on a preloader screen that includes a preloader mask over a logo and a percentage dynamic text. I can get either or to work but not both at the same time. I notice that if I remove stop(); I can get the percentage to work but not the preloader image. With the stop(); embedded the image preloader works but the percentage doesn't.

i tried the tutorial that teaches you how to create a preloader....i followed the instructions and it still doesnt work! what's wrg?[code]on my first frame actions....i put the "gotoAndPlay (36)" cause i tried a previous preloader that took more than 1 frame and didnt want to change my button's "goTo" frames...but i figured it wont change anything..anyways, i put that line of code as my first frame action....by double clicking the timeline..then i create a symbol for that frame 1 and created an animation.

I'm wrapping up a small corporate website, but I left the preloader to do until the very end, so instead of changing any layout of my View, I just moved everything to frame 2, and put the preloader on frame 1. I'm using some of the code here: http:[url].... which seems pretty ace.
The problem I'm having though is that CS5's built in preloader is going and loading the whole swf, then it runs my preloader (on frame 1) which causes it to move strait to frame two instantly (I changed it so now it at least plays through the animation then moves on, but it's still not loading anything during that screen).that is causing flash to load the entire swf before even playing my preloader on frame 1. I don't remember having this problem in CS4.

I am looking for a way to run a slideshow without using XML, but controlling the entire show with AS3. I have all of the resources and code to run a dynamic show, but I am attempting to build this on Oracle's Content Management System“ Stellent. Stellent does not allow us to access our external XML files or external assets such as images, js, swf, etc.
The best way to go about building our slideshows for use with this CMS is to make them fully integrated in themselves. The downside, obviously is a larger filesize, but does anybody know how I would go about building this into itself, instead of externally?[code]...

I am trying to create a slide show using actionscript that changes the images automatically. I have the script for a slide show that has buttons to let the user change the slides. It gets the images from a specified folder (which I want it to do- they are all named 1.jpeg, 2.jpeg...etc which makes it easy to update them) and loads it into an image holder named (imageHolder). There is a function called nextImage which loads the next picture, but at the moment is controlled by the buttons. I'm not sure how to get it to change images automatically using actionscript.

I am trying to create a flash program that will create a slideshow on the fly. I have a collection of music and images that I want to put in the show. The program will pick a piece to play randomly and the next image to show is also picked randomly. However, the speed at which the images will be shown in the show is decided by the tempo/speed/mood of the music at that moment. In one piece of music there will faster and slower movement, and the slide will fade in sooner if the music is faster and vice versa. The show will keep running until the program quits.

I can make a slideshow by importing 30 or so images and using the timeline. I can make a slideshow by importing 30 or so images and using actionscript so that the timeline is realtively short.
What is the best way? I discovered how to do it by loading a movieclip with the image, but that is risky because depending on the connection, it sometimes loads too late.
What is the most streamlined, small filesize way to make a long slideshow? Can you point me to posts that talk about this or tutorials?

I have a slideshow on the opening page of my website and about a minute and a half in, it starts to slow way way down. It looks choppy and really bad - I had the slide in its own file and it was fine - then I made it into a single movie clip and cut and paste it into the website on the first frame so it would play automatically right away - then it started doing the slow thing when I previewed it
