ActionScript 3.0 :: Activating And Making Buttons Contact To Their Pages?

I get this in my output when I click on my pre-loader button, which works great and sends me to the home page... but when I get there the code I wrote for my portfolio page to click on portfolio and have it take me to the portfolio page isn't working.... It gives me the faollwoing output error....object reference. at Website_fla::MainTimeline/Website_fla::frame1()[Website_fla.MainTimel ine::frame1:13]

I am attempting to make a flash website, and have 5 buttons on my menu. I made 5 pages in a movieclip called "content". I want to know how I can link those buttons to go to those pages (actionscript and where to put it).
I have seen flash website templates, and see only ONE button, but when I looked at it in an .swf, it shows all buttons with their specific text label.

I want to create some AS to disable and enable a button.Let's call this ButtonX. I want this button to appear disabled at first, and then allow the user the option of enabling this button(ButtonX) by clicking another button. Let's call this ButtonY. I cannot get this to work. I am attaching the code I am trying. I have this AS added to ButtonY and ButtonX is the instance name for the button I want to de-activate-activate.

I have a row of movie clips which act as buttons with an inactive state, active state, selected state etc. What I am seeking is kind of like a controller button which when clicked will activate or de-activate this row when clicked. I thought the best way might be to set frame labels and add a goto sript for the controller button to make each button go to the activate frame when the controller button is clicked.

Background: I have an Index.SWF that loads a Home.SWF. The website has essentially three layers, top layer is menu bar, middle layer is content, bottom layer is links to home page and e-mail. All the buttons on the top and bottom layers work. When I go to add a new button to the middle layer of Home.swf. I get all kind of errors associated with not referencing the right objects or having undefined objects.
I believe my structure is as follows:

>> Home
>>> Any other SWF through "myLoader" object and buttonclick function
Here's the code:

I've been trying to figure this out all day, with no luck - so I'm hoping someone here can help a girl out with her code .I'm working on what is essentially a 'character profile' page, in which you can scroll across the page to see different characters, and clicking on them will bring up a short profile.However, I've set up these different characters as separate buttons within the scrolling movie clip and can't seem to get them to activate.Here is the code I've used so far:

Am working on a flash AS 2.0 project where am loading movies from the same folder. my code goes like

problem is the swf loads infront of the main movie but the main movie's links are still active.

I want to make a contact form on my website so that when the user types info into the input textboxes I have and presses the SEND button, the message will automatically send, instead of opening up their mail service and having them manually send it.[url]...
And it worked, but when I tested it, it just when to my Outlook and had already entered everything in the subject and message, but I had to manually send it.[code]...

I've just managed to succeed with the contact form and now I'm wanting to add bits to it. Specifically, I'd like to add two lots of radio buttons (two buttons for each question). I've got the buttons in place but I can only click one of them at a time and I can't get the php to acknowledge which button is clicked. So my query is, how do I get two lots of buttons to work and the script to let me know which ones have been clicked?

I have a map with a list of items to the side. I want the list to work as buttons and highlight both the button and the particular image on the map... and when you click you link to a certain location.I also want to be able to MouseOver the map, have both the image on the map and the corresponding 'button' from the list highlight - but when you click, you go to a different location than if you would have clicked from the list.I have it set up - but something is conflicting. I'm using Flash CS3 and ActionScript 2. I've created a simple contact page, inside a movie clip (because I got it fading in and out), I've put the script on the main timeline, so not inside the movie, but the send and reset buttons won't respond all. I've checked the instance names and spellings are correct, here's the script I'm using:

I have laid out the four pages that I wish and have created a button for each page on each page.I was told a simple stop script would stop the pages acting like a movie.I entered:

I'm just picking up flash and I am trying to make a new menu of buttons in the template and I will be changing the menu that is already there, but it isn't using conventional menu coding. This is the piece of code I am trying to use for my button to lead to a different movie clip to a different frame than the one the buttons are sitting in, a separate movie clip.

Of course there are more buttons, this is just one. Customhomes is the frame label, customhms_btn is the instance name. It tells me that customhms_btn is not defined. I have this code sitting in the movie clip that the buttons are in by itself in the first layer.

I designed a flash banner with buttons. I am trying to get those buttons linked to other pages in my website. I have tried several methods but none appear to work. The first thing I tried to was to assign the buttons to my other webpages through using the behaviours under the windows tab in Flash CS4. It worked when using the publish preview option (preview in flash) and choosing Flash, but when I went to add the banner to my webpage through Dreamweaver, the buttons would not work. I tried another method and used actionscript 3.0. I kept getting errors.

I am building a basic database website for my local community and everything is going fine until i try to add more script to control buttons on pages from the menu. The menu has 7 buttons which work, then on each of those pages is 6 more buttons. The first page works fine but when i add the code to the next page to control its buttons i get access of undefined prop. error and keeps playing through whole timeline. This is the code im using to control the buttons on pages from the menu.

I'm creating website that I want to put my resume and portfolio on as different Flash applications. For my resume it would be like a mini-web site that has various linking buttons to different pages. I tried to use scenes b/c I had a professor who told us to use scenes to create our pages/animations, and the scenes concept did not work with the actionscripting.
I then read online that scenes were not the way to go. So I'm trying to use Frame Labels to create this - right now I made a menu movie clip that I have my actionscript in for each button - the buttons have the correct instance names and I have my frames properly labeled with their movie clips attached to each for each part of the resume/page portion.
This is the code I'm using in the Menu movie clip. The problem I'm having is that when I click on each button - nothing happens! I tried this one, and nothing happened:

I have continued to find a resolution and have had no luck. My website has 5 flash buttons (tabs) to take you to a new html page. Each time you go to a page the button seems to have to re-load creating a "white blinking" inside the cell. The background of the fla file is black and I have the table cell background set to black hoping thatbut to no avail. I thought once a swf is loaded it won't have to re-load. The swf files are the same on all pages

I'm having trouble linking buttons from a swf banner that will be on all html pages. I'm using the following script, which doesn't work yet.For now, I have only two buttons. Button btn_1 should go to page_1.html, which is in a folder labeled pages.I've tried the variable name and the navigate to URL and neither have worked.

the source files work perfectly when I upload them to my server - but when I insert the form into my flash website - I am unable to receive the contact email at all. The problem must be with the flash file becuase I have not altered the php (except to send to my email)
I am using Flash CS3 (but publishing for action script2) I have double checked all my input field sare named correctly with var_names that match the php code. The form fields have been created as a moviclip named "form" and the following action script attached:

I have created a basic flash navigation menu bar for my website. I have added the bar into a frame on my dreamweaver page. I was just wondering if it was possible to link the buttons on my flash bar to open the pages into the main frame below my navigation bar? The code I have at the moment for my "home" button is the following:

i have made all my buttons by movie clips and all the different pages movie clips, but i have movie clip buttons, inside those movie clip pages, and cannot figure out how to make these movie buttons inside the movie clip work when that specific page is loaded, the"links" inside that movie clip page, how do i make that link to go to the next page.

I have created a flash website in cs4 using AS2. I have 2 layers in my time line, content and AS. I created scenes along the time line and labeled each scene "about" "contact" etc.Each scene is 10 frames long and has the stop action applied to it. The gotoAndPlay command is applied to each button within the scene and I have used the folowing action on the buttons to link the pages:on (release) {gotoAndPlay("scenename");}This does link the pages however if i hit any of the buttons twice, it directs me to the wrong page. For example if I hit the home button twice, it will direct me to the about page. Should I be targeting a frame within the scene also?
