ActionScript 3.0 :: Align A Checkbox With Its Label?
May 8, 2011
I am making a quizz in flash, and I want the checkbox to be vertically aligned with its label. I don't want it to be in the middle. What should I do? I searched for hours and hours and didn't find an answer
I need a datagrid, which contains checkbox (4 no's) without multiple selection. And I also need a text area which should contain the selected checkbox's label/data. I tried using arraycollection but I am not getting.
I have a series of buttons, and as some of you may know, the text on the label is always centered. I just want to know if there is a way to make it left justified.I'm just using the button component in Flash CS5.5. In the properties there is a Label option, i forget the name of now, but it had "left, right, top, middle, etc" but this didn't seem to change anything.
I'm writing a section of code which displays a series of checkboxes on the screen, but as they are placed on a dark background the default label text colour of black is no use, as they can't been seen. When I initialise them I use the line:
checkboxArray[i].setStyle("textColor", 0xFFFFFF); to set the text colour to white, but this only seems to work when the checkboxes are disabled (checkboxArray[i].enabled = false) and reverts to black again once they are enabled. I have tried including the setStyle line of code again after they have been enabled, but this doesn't make any difference.
I'm building a small Flex UI component that displays a colored square next to a label of text. I want to be able to specify a size for the square and internally adjust the label's properties such that the line height matches the square and the text is vertically centered with respect to the square.
At the moment, I'm using mx.controls.Label for the text. Setting the fontSize style to the square's size does not work, the label then becomes too big. After tracing a couple of values in the debugger, I found that
the line height of the internal text field (sum of the ascent and descent properties of the TextFieldMetrics object obtained through getTextFieldMetircs()) seems to end up about 120% of what I specify a s font size.there's a default "leading" of 2 pixels that I can not change directly at the Label level, this adds to the overall height of the internal text field (getTextFieldMetrics().height)the height of the Label component then is an additional 5 pixels larger than that, I don't know where those come from.
I have been doing much research on this - including creating a custom skin but cannot seem to be able to do it. I just want to have one border around both the checkbox and label. I also want a background color which I did manage to via opaqueBackground property (setting it via AS3). Just can't seem to find the key to have a border as well.
This PHP contact form works well and is very simple. I have one checkbox in the fla file. However, it keeps displaying 'No' in the email message field, whether the checkbox is selected or not. It should display 'Yes' if the checkbox is selected, and 'No' if the checkbox is unselected. Here is the PHP:
I am using datagrid and added 3 columns to it in flex project. Data is provided to each column by using itemrenderer. Itemrenderer is checkbox for each column. Name of columns are col1,col2,col3. I want to make the checkbox in col1 selected when i selects the checkbox in col2. But i am not able to do this.
Is it possible to change a frame label within a gotoAndStop('label') with the parameters in a function?I'm playing around with updating code as I learn more and more techniques, and at the moment the code is a basic click-a-button to select the object shape, and on press the button disappears:
// Change the object into a circle. circle_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,function(){changeShape_fun(circle_btn,circle);}); // Change the object into a square. square_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,function(){changeShape_fun(square_btn,square);});
[code]....
However I can't/don't seem to know how to change a frame label through function parameters, or if what I'm trying to do is even possible. Also to note, while I'm all ears for any more efficient ways of doing what I'm trying to do, I would still like to know how/if you can change frame labels through function parmeters.
I have several .swf pages that are as2 that load in the upper left corner at actual size (800x600) the first time they are loaded. however, when they are linked back to (reloaded after first view) they are now centered and resize to fit the current window size.
I tried updating in the publish settings, but that only seems to be an option in the html tab, and I'm not using html for most of them (only my index page, which is still behaving the same as the rest of them!)
I am updating my website and using the navigation swf pages over, and the resizing centered option was great, but now some of my pages are html and do not scale and are aligned to the top left. for consistancy, I want them all the same. For pages that I did not re-use and just started with the default settings in flash (but using as3, don't know if that makes a difference) I am not having trouble with. they are actual size aligned top left.
This should be relatively simple, except that my entire movie (site) is TopCenter based. I just have one movie clip (some text) that I need to be top Left aligned & I can't figure out how to put it there, especially since it is within an MC that is centered and full-screen (liquid layout). This is my code right now (within terminal MC):
PHP Code: // initiate postitions and scaling values for objects //////The below is what I need left-aligned; current values are incorrect: //_level0.terminal_stage.terminal.terminal_text._x = -440; //_level0.terminal_stage.terminal.terminal_text._y = -315; _level0.terminal_stage.terminal.terminal_bg._width = Stage.width; _level0.terminal_stage.terminal.terminal_bg._height = Stage.height; [Code] .....
The terminal_text MC should be about 20px from the left edge & 20px from the top edge of the browser...
it has been a while since i used flash. I have just started to try and put a flash piece inside a web page and i am having problems getting it to align to the top of the page. I checked to see if something in my code had padding, <br>'s or any thing else that might be pushing it down but I can not find what the problem is. I placed a simple image file above the flash and it aligned up to the top of the page where I am trying to get the flash file to be. I tried changing all of the align="middle" code in the lists below but that didn't work either.
In Flash CS5, none of the align buttons work (in the align tab, in modify > align, or with ctrl + alt shortcuts). Right now I have to take the stage width and object width and put in the x and y coordinates manually to align objects.
I have a pure code Actionscript 3 project in flash builder 4 and I want to align the stage. For now I have a sprite that I have set the x property to 10, but the sprites are in the middle of the screen. How to set these kind of properties in code? I suppose it's the stage object that needs to be set in some way.
Here is the problem. I use 100% width and height for my flash, but I also did some JavaScript to create scrollbars if resolution is too low. And there is a problem. I cannot align movieclips anymore. How to get real workspace size of my flash including area outside stage?
ive made 5 diff codes to give the right positions on my mc's. but the code is all hanging on the mc's. Now i was thinking 2 put all code into 1 keyframe. So i think i need to write a prototype of it. It will be great if somebody out so i can understand more about how 2 write my own prototype for this. The file is just for study for me to play a bit with aligning mc's on stage. The code that is hanging on the clips are:
Ive got my flash movie set to 100% width & height, while the stage is set to no scale. Is it possible for me to align an mc to the bottom regardless their window size?
Just to clarify if firefox is larger than the stage, can i align this mc ( like a footer ) to the bottom of the ussers screen.
I am loading an image into an html textfield. The image loads fine, my problem is that Flash keeps wrapping the image in a <p> tag, so the image is never aligned to the top of my textfield.
I want to make my SWF be on the very top of the page, but beneath the header. The SWF automatically adjusts its size based on the browser's; I want it to take up as much room as possible at all times while still being able to see everything, which I have.
The problem is 2 things: one, I have something flying in and out (from the top) and you can see it in the white-space around the SWF when it is not in on the stage. Two, the whole vertical alignment thing. I want it to be DIRECTLY under the header, not centered.
I'm using Dreamweaver to make this webpage by the way.... I'm not really sure which end this is- Dreamweaver or Flash...
