View 2 RepliesI have a text input box on a site i'm currently building. Problem is, when testing it, some letters don't register as being pressed (and no, its not my keyboard before you ask hehe).
The letters which don't show up are, "B,C,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,Q,T,U,V,X,Y,Z". In fact, the only letters that are recognized and displayed when I type into it are: "A,D,O,P,R,S,W".
I need to be able to 'clean' dynamic string from all symbols (all characters that are not a letter or number..) and replace them with "-"
i.e A Fine "Painting" Number 1 - would equal - a-fine-painting-number-1
An object has been attached. The object is then tweened starting from a large number and going to a small number. Except my tweens aren't working. From the trace statements, my objects are shown to end up being to x=-20.55 and y=-107373766.65.

View 2 RepliesI'm writing a section of code which displays a series of checkboxes on the screen, but as they are placed on a dark background the default label text colour of black is no use, as they can't been seen. When I initialise them I use the line:
checkboxArray[i].setStyle("textColor", 0xFFFFFF); to set the text colour to white, but this only seems to work when the checkboxes are disabled (checkboxArray[i].enabled = false) and reverts to black again once they are enabled. I have tried including the setStyle line of code again after they have been enabled, but this doesn't make any difference.

View 1 RepliesOnce I've set either the width or percentWidth property on a flex label, is there a way to reset the width to its default (i.e., the width of the text plus padding)? I'm using the label as a renderer. In some cases, I'd like it to automatically size to the text, and in other cases, I'd like it to be a percentage width of its container. Obviously, I could use two separate labels, one for each of the above cases, but I'm curious if it's possible to reset the label to its default behavior.

The click event cannot be muted as it is utilized in parenting components.

I have been doing much research on this - including creating a custom skin but cannot seem to be able to do it. I just want to have one border around both the checkbox and label. I also want a background color which I did manage to via opaqueBackground property (setting it via AS3). Just can't seem to find the key to have a border as well.
View 1 RepliesI have a preferences option at the beginning of my app. It calls in some values from an XML file and passes them to a static var and to myCheckbox.selected which should display a checked box if the value is true. The values are being passed fine, but the checkbox isn't showing up as checked.

I can drag a checkbox to the stage and change the width in the property inspector and it works fine. If I target the width when attaching it dynamically, the whole box and label get skewed.

I'm using Flash CS5. I have created an Input Text box, but for some reason, the only numerals that apear on the screen when typed are 0, 1, and 2. If one types 3, etc., they just don't appear.
Also, I have a dynamic text box for which when I do the following, it only shows "lease type a number from 1 to 12." with no "P".

This PHP contact form works well and is very simple. I have one checkbox in the fla file. However, it keeps displaying 'No' in the email message field, whether the checkbox is selected or not. It should display 'Yes' if the checkbox is selected, and 'No' if the checkbox is unselected.Here is the PHP:

I have a setup a PageHolder class (based on MovieCLip) that displays a doted area with a (page) number in the middle.
Now attempting to populate my LayoutPane, I create new instances of of PageHolder whose constructor is tasked to set the text value of its only Texfield to the value specified in the new PageHolder parameter.
The problem here is that only the character present in the Library Object will display at run time.
For example, I have setup my PageHolder object with a text field containing the number "0". Now at run time, every instance of PageHolder is blank except fro the one that I passed a "0" as part of the init parameter (10,20,30,...) and on those pages, only the "0" is showing. If I change the original object to display a "1" instead, then every "1" of the page number that contains a "1" show ups.
Can somebody shed some light on this?

I have a textInput field form that's not displaying the characters it should when typed into. E.g. when the letter "¦" on my keybard is pressed "¾" shows up. This only happens once the flash movie is being displayed in a browser (that is embedded in html), preview through flash does not have this problem. The font is properly embedded as "nameInp.text = shows the correct text in the textInput. It is only when I try to type when it doesn't work as it should. I have Window mode set to window and I've tried setting "System.useCodePage = true;"

View 0 RepliesI am simulating a multi-column combobox by introducing spaces between each column, such that all rows for the 3 columns should appear in a single line. The gap in this implementation is that due to the varying widths of characters, this spacing technique does not work. How to set the combobox characters to have the same width? The other approach is to calculate the width occupied by characters in each column and then set the start position of the next column. How to achieve this?

View 1 RepliesI need to set the text of a spark label and then position such label along the x axis depending on its width. Unfortunately, it seems that the width of the label does not update right away and thus the positioning will fail. I can listen to updateComplete events on the label and update its position then, but that means repositioning the label a lot more often than I would like (updateComplete fires off a lot more often than upon changing width). how to properly handle what would appear to be a trivial task?
Here's a code snippet that shows what I described above. If you press the button you will see 3 traces: the label width before changing its text, right after setting its text, and when the label is done updating itself. Would love to know if there's a way to get the correct width without having to listen to updateComplete events... The button and the VGroups are just there to run the example

I have a project with 100 pages or so. Each of this pages will have a label name. I am trying to create a toogle button that will ad the frane name to an array by using "currentLabel". If the user unchecks the box, then remove "curentLabel" from the array. At the end, there will be a "review" section where the items on the array will show in a comboBox so that the user can navigate to each of these pages.
I already have the combo bit working:

I tested it by using a button that added the "currentLabel" to the "flaggedQuestion" array. But is the user clicks on the button more than once on the same page, it keeps adding the same label (as it should). Thats why I figure using a checkBox component that the user can check and uncheck would be an ideal solution. The problem I have with checkboxes, is that it is not keeping the "check" on the box is the user navigates back and forward thru the sections...
Relative newcomer to Flash, and I have (what should be) a simple question: how does one go about making the CS3 checkbox component larger? I'm not talking about the bounding box (checkbox + label); I'm talking about the checkbox itself. I've looked all over the place, and I'm stunned that this doesn't appear to be as easy as I thought.
