I'm using Flash CS5. I have created an Input Text box, but for some reason, the only numerals that apear on the screen when typed are 0, 1, and 2. If one types 3, etc., they just don't appear.
Also, I have a dynamic text box for which when I do the following, it only shows "lease type a number from 1 to 12." with no "P".
txt_incorrect_number.text = "Please type a number from 1 to 12."
I am having an issue with my project showing up to the left side of the screen when I look at it on the web. how to center the project in the middle of the page. Here is another blunder I am desperate for help with. another project I am working on I screwed up by editing the timeline for EVERYTHING inside the movie clip instead of the timeline. now when I export this to be a mov. file it only plays for like a second. so I fixed that and copy and pasted the timeline from inside the movie to the timeline on my workspace. everything is showing up on the bottom right of the page.

I have a setup a PageHolder class (based on MovieCLip) that displays a doted area with a (page) number in the middle.
Now attempting to populate my LayoutPane, I create new instances of of PageHolder whose constructor is tasked to set the text value of its only Texfield to the value specified in the new PageHolder parameter.
The problem here is that only the character present in the Library Object will display at run time.
For example, I have setup my PageHolder object with a text field containing the number "0". Now at run time, every instance of PageHolder is blank except fro the one that I passed a "0" as part of the init parameter (10,20,30,...) and on those pages, only the "0" is showing. If I change the original object to display a "1" instead, then every "1" of the page number that contains a "1" show ups.
Can somebody shed some light on this?

I have a textInput field form that's not displaying the characters it should when typed into. E.g. when the letter "¦" on my keybard is pressed "¾" shows up. This only happens once the flash movie is being displayed in a browser (that is embedded in html), preview through flash does not have this problem. The font is properly embedded as "nameInp.text = shows the correct text in the textInput. It is only when I try to type when it doesn't work as it should. I have Window mode set to window and I've tried setting "System.useCodePage = true;"

I'm having a problem with embedding games in my website.[url]...
It shows a loading bar whilst the game is loading, but when I embed this same swf url into my website using swfobject (or even with plain old <object> or <embed> tags), the loading bar never shows up, and instead a white box the same size as the flash game is shown, until the game is loaded!
I need to know if a popup (which is a singleton titlewindow, hence would be initialized only once) is already shown in the screen or not, if not then i will call a function to show it up, otherwise do something else.I tried findPopup.focusEnabled //findPopup is the titlewindow class for popup But it is always true irrespective of whether the popup is shown in the screen currently or not.

View 2 RepliesI'm new to Adobe Flash CS4. I'm making an animation of some fish underwater. I have 2 small fish motion tweened to follow a large fish from left to right. When I view the animation in full screen the small fish seem to be wiped off the screen at a certain point. The tween box continues to follow it's path but the symbol disappears. This only seems to happen with larger objects.

View 2 RepliesI basically need to store a string of characters from an input text box and have them displayed at the last frame of the quiz. I declared the variable holding the input text as _global.player in the first frame, and upon clicking the start button the code is:

These variables are not referenced again until the last frame of the quiz, which reads thus:

Yes, I know the global.correct coments are not yet complete, but i dont think that should be causing any issue with the playerdisplay.text (the dynamic text box to display the player name). If anyone could give me a hand that would be great. Nothing appears in the dynamic text box when the final frame of the movie loads.
I am currently using a flash template from flashmo.com and i have installed it etc... The problem I have is that when you go to send a message in the contact form you cannot enter certain characters in the email box, especially the '@' symbol.

View 3 Replies1) Each field in the form only allows 3 characters and no special characters such as @ _ ! . , etc... 2) When the user goes to the next field in the form, the previous field appears blank but the when clicking on that again, the original text appears. 3) When submitting the form, it just keeps saying "in progress" and never shows the confirmation text nor does the email get sent. There is an HTML file included with this form but I am not sure if I need to put that in as I have embedded this form into an SWF file so I don't think I need that code but let me know if I am wrong about this. I've created a flying bird movieclip. Now I just want to make a flock but I don't want to use action script. I can reuse the same movieclip but then they are all identical. They are all flapping their wings at the same time. Which isn't really realistic. And any changes I make to one of them, they all change. What I want to do is say, if I click and drag my bird animation into the stage three times I'll have three flying birds. But now I want to change them individually. For example, have each flapping their wings at different speeds etc. Is this possible?

Under properties for the text field, I clicked on the embed characters button. In there, I pasted all the special characters I would need and clicked okay. Shouldn't this be enough for the text to display properly?
I am developing an ios app, and it is a simple platformer game. I have a 2dimensional sprite that sits in the center of the stage, and never moves.. When the accelorometer is tilted, the stage moves around the main Character, but only horizontally.. How can I get the accelorometer to simply flip the main characters image, so that he faces where he appears to be heading? Again, this game is for the iPhone/iPod platform, so anybody with knolege of coding is greatly needed to explain this to me. This is a simple code I used for moving the stage around the Character

Not sure if I should be posting here or on the Dreamweaver forum [there's a similar post there], but .. I hope to have some music on my site and have been playing around with various Flash based, XML driven, mp3 players [though I'm a beginner with Flash]. I've got one to look [more or less] as I want it but it doesn't work! It works when previewed within Flash CS4 but not within Dreamweaver.
