I have a DateChooser component that is on a masked layer along with TextFields. I can set Character Embedding for the TextFields and they render fine, but the DateChooser does not.
How do I apply Character Embedding
I have an empty movie clip(say A) on a layer and then I have masked it with a display object(say a rectangle). Now I have an movie clip(say B) containing a input text field and I am adding this movie clip(B) dynamically in movie Clip(A).
When I compile it, the input text field is taking input for sure, cz I have applied some traces on change event of that field. But the characters inside the field are not showing up.
I am trying to create a very simple 'fruit/slot machine' effect using moving numbers, and a mask.I want the numbers to start at 0,000, spinning through to 1,700. The '1' and '7' work fine, but the two '00' disappear during the tween, then reappear at the end (I have a 'stop' in place).I have the spinning numbers as a 'movie clip', and I have tried uisng 4 different number clips (at the moment 1 clip is duplicated).

View 6 Repliesive made a project of equalizers playing going up and down as e.q do.when i export the swf file its plays perfect but when i import it into after fx the e.q are static there is no motion.just the objects that are not masked are animating.
View 5 RepliesI have a simple static text MovieClip that is masked in the timeline the traditional way - layer above the text layer has a rectangle and that layer is set to mask. This looks fine in the timeline while authoring. As soon as I publish it as Flash 9, the text disappears

View 1 RepliesThis has me stumped and frustrated! I have some simple bitmaps that I've masked with graphics. When I use the playhead to watch the movie, it looks fine. When I preview or publish, the masked images are missing completely. What could I be doing wrong? A couple additional notes - the layer with the graphic (symbol) is rotated and the layer above it (mask) is also rotated at an angle. I don't see how that should matter at all...

I want to set the month and year programmatically and only allow the user to select the date/day. I can do this for the year easily by setting the minYear and maxYear to whatever year I want, but I am not seeing a strait forward way of disallowing the user to select a different month?

Not sure if I should be posting here or on the Dreamweaver forum [there's a similar post there], but .. I hope to have some music on my site and have been playing around with various Flash based, XML driven, mp3 players [though I'm a beginner with Flash]. I've got one to look [more or less] as I want it but it doesn't work! It works when previewed within Flash CS4 but not within Dreamweaver. View 2 RepliesI am having a problem with CS3 Flash and the toolbar on the left.Certain tools have options and those options are not showing up. Yes, I went to Customize Tools panel and checked and those options are listed to the right of each tool that should have them (Example: Rectangle tool: oval tool, polystar tool , etc) and even hit reset to default and still those options do not show up on the actual toolbar. I made a graphic thinking that would make them show up and no it didn't.
It seems to be a problem for each tool that has a options and they are
1. Free Transform Tool,
2. Pen tool and
3. Rectangle tool.
a few months ago we bought a flash ready template that I customized with our information. I decided to update the website information and wrote new text. Now when I do the publish preview the upated text is not showing up. I have not change the font, color just the size because in the original it looked too small. when looking at the properties is shown as the default of font (the one the template came with) static text.
What is causing the updated text not to show up? I am not really experienced with flash, i am trying to figure out also how to see the code of the pages but i don't know how to do that.
I have built a flash navigation menu that plays fine. I exported it and saved it into the root directory of my website.Then I opened the website and added it where I wanted it (on a Template) by selecting Insert>Media>Flash and following the steps.I added the files to my server and am finding something odd. When I open the Template file on the website, it loads the Flash file just fine.[URL] However, when I load any of the pages built from the Template the menu won't load correctly.[URL]
View 4 RepliesI'm using Flash CS5. I have created an Input Text box, but for some reason, the only numerals that apear on the screen when typed are 0, 1, and 2. If one types 3, etc., they just don't appear.
Also, I have a dynamic text box for which when I do the following, it only shows "lease type a number from 1 to 12." with no "P".
txt_incorrect_number.text = "Please type a number from 1 to 12."
As adobe's phone cust. service is rubbish, making me wait for half an hour just to tell me they can't even try to help me with fonts that are not purchased from adobe, I have turned to this message board in the hopes that someone here can help me with my latest in a perpetual series of dillemmmas with this nightmare of a program...
Im using flash cs5 at work on a mac pro with juiced up processors, memory, etc. I installed a bunch of fonts, mostly ttf and otf and when flash loads I'd say about 40% of the fonts that I installed don't show up in the font list. This sucks. Adobe's good programs like photoshop and illustrator show all my fonts, no questions asked. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the fonts, re-starting flash, and disabling fonts. My one breakthrough was when i created another account on my computer and tried installing a font which was not showing up in the new user's font book. Lo and behold, the font shows up in flash! I have about 900 fonts on my computer which may be alot but I have used previous versions of flash with around that number of fonts and I don't recall any problems. I really dont want to switch my user account as this is a company computer and it will throw off company related access.
first I tried to install the NewGrounds Ad component for AS 3.0 which delivers as an .xmp file. I doubleclicked it and in the Extension Manager it's listed as active under Flash CS5. I restarted flash, but the component does not show up in the components list.I then tried to install the minimal components fromwhich are delivered as an SWC. I went to the ActionScript 3.0 settings in flash, went to the "library path" tab and clicked browse to swc to select the SWC file. but these components don't show up in the components list either.

Greetings. I am working on a website that uses flash for everything. There is little HTML ... anyway, since it is such a massive main file, the client requires a preloader. I searched for some code and inserted it. It seems to be working fine. The only weirdness is, i can't get the "Loading Module" animation and the dynamic text box used to show loading status to show up on the stage. Instead what appears there is some kind of bizzarre animation that just uses little circles as an animation. Sounds crazy i know, but you can see it at the following link.

I'm using Flash 5.0 (AS3) I have a large graphic of a map which moves around to highlight different sectioins. The map is larger than the size of the artboard, but instead of everything being invisible thats off the artboard, it still shows up. is there a way to ONLY show graphics/symbols that are ON the artboard in your swf?

This runs well in AS3.Problem I am facing is because I wrote this in AS3, I am not able to use the DateChooser component in another part of the flash module because it seems like DateChooser component is not supported in AS3. So I want to migrate my below AS3 code back to AS2.
