I have a flash movie on a login page that shows up fine in every browser apart from IE8 (surprise surprise!), where I just see a red cross in a square. You can see what I mean if you look at the page in IE:

The movie was created in Flash 10 with ActionScript 3. why it is isn't working in IE?
I have 3 movie clips (Header_mc, Logo_mc, Introduction_mc) which all comes animating on stage at one time. Which looks all mess. What I would like is.
1)Logo.mc (Instance Name:Logo) comes on stage first after 5 Seconds
2)Header_mc (Instance Name:Header) should come second ater 5 Seconds
3)Introduction_mc (Instance Name: Introduction) should come at last
and I would like to do it all by using Actionscript 3.0 instead using Timeline in movieclip itself.

a few months ago we bought a flash ready template that I customized with our information. I decided to update the website information and wrote new text. Now when I do the publish preview the upated text is not showing up. I have not change the font, color just the size because in the original it looked too small. when looking at the properties is shown as the default of font (the one the template came with) static text.
What is causing the updated text not to show up? I am not really experienced with flash, i am trying to figure out also how to see the code of the pages but i don't know how to do that.
I have built a flash navigation menu that plays fine. I exported it and saved it into the root directory of my website.Then I opened the website and added it where I wanted it (on a Template) by selecting Insert>Media>Flash and following the steps.I added the files to my server and am finding something odd. When I open the Template file on the website, it loads the Flash file just fine.[URL] However, when I load any of the pages built from the Template the menu won't load correctly.[URL]

Im using flash cs5 at work on a mac pro with juiced up processors, memory, etc. I installed a bunch of fonts, mostly ttf and otf and when flash loads I'd say about 40% of the fonts that I installed don't show up in the font list. This sucks. Adobe's good programs like photoshop and illustrator show all my fonts, no questions asked. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the fonts, re-starting flash, and disabling fonts. My one breakthrough was when i created another account on my computer and tried installing a font which was not showing up in the new user's font book. Lo and behold, the font shows up in flash! I have about 900 fonts on my computer which may be alot but I have used previous versions of flash with around that number of fonts and I don't recall any problems. I really dont want to switch my user account as this is a company computer and it will throw off company related access.
first I tried to install the NewGrounds Ad component for AS 3.0 which delivers as an .xmp file. I doubleclicked it and in the Extension Manager it's listed as active under Flash CS5. I restarted flash, but the component does not show up in the components list.I then tried to install the minimal components fromwhich are delivered as an SWC. I went to the ActionScript 3.0 settings in flash, went to the "library path" tab and clicked browse to swc to select the SWC file. but these components don't show up in the components list either.
View 2 RepliesI have a page.php with a flash banner embeded. banner.swf loads, but displays nothing because it is not getting its data from data.xml which is in flash/lighter/data.xmlIt only works if the banner.swf and data.xml and the banner_images are all in the root directory. That's not possible and totally unacceptable. So I did get some info here about setting a parameter like this :: :: which is exactly where the data.xml file resides. I figured that had to be the solution. Still no data gets loaded.... unless I have the data.xml, banner.swf, banner_images, all in the root directory where page.php which contains the object code resides. How can I make this seemingly easy thing work

This is dynamic text from an XML file. I've embedded the fonts [Verdana regular and bold - OpenType] in Flash CS5 but the bold won't display even though the special characters do display [Jónsi].
View 10 RepliesI have a 30 sec flash file that was converted from a .flv to .swf in flash CS5.I place the .swf file in Dreamweaver CS5.The file is only 57k the .flv was 3,560k. The flash plays perfect locally.When uploaded thru the "put" function with Dreamweaver the .swf file uploads along with the java and expessistall.swf. The flash will not display on the website.

View 6 RepliesI have redesigned my site from a flashmo template and all is fine except for my thumbnail string not loading/showing in any browsers or even in my dreamweaver & flash previews.
my site is [url]... if you press on the 'decor' button you'll see the place where the thumbnails should be coming up and loading - but all it shows is a permanent loading sign on the first thumbnail and nothing else.

I googled this relentlessly, but was unable to find an answer. I have a font --- P22 Hopper (PC Postscript Type 1) --- that does not show up accuratly in Flash CS4. The font is script, but it shows up as a generic sans serif. I have inserted a screenshot to illustrate. Oddly, this font shows up perfectly in all other CS4 products and also works fine in Flash 8.
View 2 RepliesI've created an eBook that's 972 X 500 pixels (13.5" X 7"). The image in the browser is roughly 9.5 inches wide. Is there a way to make the browser display the image at actual size? Am I missing something here? The SWF file does print out at the true size from the browser.
View 2 RepliesWhen I changed hosting from the companies hosting to my own personal GoDaddy hosting everything went right, except for 2 flash slide shows (Simple rotating images). They just apear as clear boxes now. You can see what I am talking about here: [URL] and here [URL] . You will notice the empty large empty box on the right in both pages. When you right click on it the browser recognizes that it is flash. On the Piza site I tried taking out the original code and entering the flash object via Dreamweaver CS5, but that yeilded the same results (I only mention this because the code on that site will thus look a bit different).

View 2 RepliesI'm working on an educational Flash animation. In one scene I have 4 buttons which need to show different movieclips. I have created all 4 movie clips and inserted into one layer in 4 frames, one after another one. I also gave the frames specific names. Then the buttons are all in one frame with a name so I could call it when we're on "rollout" mode. Now, when I go over the first button it shows its movieclip perfectly but the second one show two, overlapping, with the previous frame! I did also deleted the previous movie clip but still get the same error!!!
Here is the code that I use:

lobes is the name of the scene, think is the name of the frame which has the movie clip and "lobes-button" is the name of the frame which has all the buttons without any movie clips.
I'm not even sure what you call it. When you go to some of the major web sites and big flash movie with option to shorten it is displayed. I've search the web for this and maybe i not calling it right.
What is the name of this flash movie called when you come to site and big flash movie comes up and pushes everything down? It has a option to reduce size by clicking button.

Whenever I open a new movieclip in Flash, the stage size is distorted (should be a 600 x 450). It should be a rectangle and be placed in the middle of the screen. Instead, when I open a new movie clip, the stage is placed all the way to the left of the screen and I only have pasteboard on the right hand side. Because of this, I can't see the entire stage

I hope to have some music on my site and have been playing around with various Flash based, XML driven, mp3 players [though I'm a beginner with Flash]. I've got one to look [more or less] as I want it but it doesn't work! It works when previewed within Flash CS4 but not within Dreamweaver. I have a swf with two layer which both show when playing the animation in the flash timeline editor environment but when played in the preview or published one of the layers isn't shown.
View 2 RepliesI am having a problem with CS3 Flash and the toolbar on the left. Certain tools have options and those options are not showing up. Yes, I went to Customize Tools panel and checked and those options are listed to the right of each tool that should have them (Example: Rectangle tool: oval tool, polystar tool , etc) and even hit reset to default and still those options do not show up on the actual toolbar. I made a graphic thinking that would make them show up and no it didn't.
It seems to be a problem for each tool that has a options and they are
1. Free Transform Tool,
2. Pen tool and
3. Rectangle tool.
I'm using Flash CS5. I have created an Input Text box, but for some reason, the only numerals that apear on the screen when typed are 0, 1, and 2. If one types 3, etc., they just don't appear.
Also, I have a dynamic text box for which when I do the following, it only shows "lease type a number from 1 to 12." with no "P".

Greetings. I am working on a website that uses flash for everything. There is little HTML ... anyway, since it is such a massive main file, the client requires a preloader. I searched for some code and inserted it. It seems to be working fine. The only weirdness is, i can't get the "Loading Module" animation and the dynamic text box used to show loading status to show up on the stage. Instead what appears there is some kind of bizzarre animation that just uses little circles as an animation. Sounds crazy i know, but you can see it at the following link.
