Sep 8, 2010In Internet Explorer 7 and 8 (WinXP/Flash 10), if I play my videos using the JW Player in the slider they work. However if I move to the next slide and then return to the original slide the video is no longer displayed - the audio is still audible and the video can be played and paused, but there is no image.
I've asked this question on [URL], but the support member cannot see this problem on their computer. Does anyone else see this issue, and if so, You can view the slider and video here: [URL]
ActionScript 2.0 :: Activating The External .swf Into A Blank Movie Clip In The Main Movie?
Oct 10, 2002I'm still a rookie in flash and I'm having a little bit of trouble with some actionscript. I've gotten as far as placing the buttons and assign the correct actionscript for them to work. Everything is working fine with the buttons activating the external .swf into a blank movie clip in the main movie. Ony thing is, I would like the external movie assigned to the first button to open once the movie is loaded.
I thought by using the same actionscript i used on the button {and removing the on(release) tag} and placing on the first frame of the main movie would help, but it doesn't.
Error Opening Url When Testing Movie (blank Movie) On Mac - Flash Cs4
Dec 11, 2009Whenever I am trying to open a swf file (any swf file) or test a movie from the flash ide the internal player is blank and output has the msg error opening url "the path of the swf file here".This is not a problem that has to do with loading external files etc. It just refuses to open any swf file and ofc or test any movie cause it keeps saying error in opening url even in blank movies.
The simplest thing New File -> AS3 -> Test Movie -> Error in opening url I can publish the movie with no problem at all and I can run all the swf files outside of flash ide. I can debug movie from flash ide. I can html preview it from flash ide but i can't just hit cmd+enter to test the fraking movie.
Blank Frame At End Of Looped Movie When Published?
Oct 7, 2010I have a very simple flash movie. It has 6 images that fade in and out in a loop. I created the movie and when I play it in Flash using Control > Play (with loop playback) it all works perfectly, but when I publish it there is a blank space at the end of the movie before it loops through again. It only lasts a fraction of a second but it breaks up the smooth image transitions. I have checked and there are no layers that go past the last image, and there is a keyframe on the last frame of the last image.

May 21, 2009While testing the movie within Flash,the Test Movie window randomly goes blank, showing the stage color. The movie is still running, there's no error, it's just blank. When I resize the Test Movie window,everything reappears... Until a few seconds later, when it snaps back to blank... so I resize, it reappears, it disappears, I resize, it reappears, it disappears... over and over.Resizing even just one pixel is enough to get it to come back. Sometimes it happens every few seconds.
This might be related to another issue: If I Test Movie with the Bandwidth Profiler on, Flash CS4 doesn't resize the window correctly to fit my entire movie in it, resulting in a big blank space underneath the Bandwidth Profiler, and that same amount of space being cutoff the bottom of my movie. I haven't seen anything like this in 10yrs of Flash development. This is a Mac Pro, 8-core. The graphics card is ATI Radeon HD XT 2600. 6GB RAM. 10.5.3-10.5.7
The same FLA works without any issues on CS4/XP. The FLA saved to CS3 works without any issues on CS3/OSX and CS3/XP (same machine).I have all but given up on CS4 for OSX. Between the crappy framerates, the crashing, and not being able to TEST MOVIE, I just avoid CS4 on OSX and use CS3 on OSX or CS4 on XP.

ActionScript 2.0 ::main Timeline With A Blank Movie In It?
Jul 22, 2005I have a main timeline with a blank movie in it so that I can click the menu and various swf's load into it. This all works perfectly. Then, I have a contacts page with a form that sends to php which all works perfectly. The thing that doesn't work is that when I click submit the thank you frame immediately afterwards doesn't play. The code I've typed is: On the Submit Button:

On the movie clip:

}
This all works fine in Publish preview but once uploaded to the servers it fails unless you type [url]....then it works fine. Is this something to do with layers and levels etc?

Aug 25, 2010how would i go about using a draw code(Code that allows users to draw within the flash) and restricting it to a certain size and location on the movie? for instance a 75x75 box located at xPos=200 and yPos = 150?
Like would I have to use a blank movie clip for the position? then make an invisible box within it to restrict drawing area?

Professional :: Test Movie Generates Blank White Screen
Jun 14, 2010Not sure why this is happening but everytime I test a movie (CTRL+ENTER) in Flash movie it produces a blank white screen. I even created a new Flash file with a simple Shape but it still gives me that blank white screen when I run test movie. It does, however, run correctly when I click the *.swf that got generated. I'm not sure if my work recently upgraded me to a newer version of Flash Player.

I've seen countless issues regarding the same problem but still haven't goten a clear answer. I dont want to use the video player component standard on Flash. However, when I right click the mouse over the area, the flashplayer is indicated as still being there. How is this possible if the contents of the div is replaced with " "? Oct 24, 2010I have been trying to get sIFR 3 rev.436 working on my site but I stuck at publishing the movie. I did everything the instruction had told me to but when I published the movie and double clicked it to test, it failed, the movie was blank with the following error. Someone said the Action Scripts should be in the same folder as the sifr.fla, it was but it didn't help at all.

The class or interface 'sIFR' could not be loaded.I was puzzled and after hours of looping in the situation I downloaded rev.432 and tested it out. To my delight, everything turned out right and I published the movie successfully!

ActionScript 2.0 :: Targeting Mess - Blank Movie Clip Created In The Preloader Swf
Jan 1, 2004I have a looped sound and some components in my main movie (scroll bar) which for some reason is really bogging down my swf and causing the preloader bar not to show up until like 46% or something ridiculous.
So I am trying to solve the problem by having a preloader swf as suggested by Kode in this thread. However, now all my targeting is messed up in my main movie. Everything that was _root has to change but I can't tell what to load it into. I tried using _parent, _parent._parent, _root.container_mc (which is a blank movie clip created in the preloader swf that main is loaded into after the preloader is 100%) and others but nothing works. Even the simple looped sound which was originally just _root.backsound.start(0,999) can't be targeted. how to target things on my main stage based on the preloader swf?

Text Not Showing In Test Movie?
Nov 30, 2009I can't figure out why my font (type) hasn't been showing up in my Test Movie. I tried it first along with my first scene, and it didn't work. I put the type in a second scene (now 74, don't ask) within the same file, and it still doesn't show up. I'm using a mask to make the type appear and I know from tutorials, I have it going in the correct position to reveal the type. It's clearly not showing up. Even in Test Scene, it's not showing up. I've exhausted all my experience (which isn't saying much) to try

Xml :: Data Not Showing In Flash Movie?
Dec 3, 2009I have a page.php with a flash banner embeded. banner.swf loads, but displays nothing because it is not getting its data from data.xml which is in flash/lighter/data.xmlIt only works if the banner.swf and data.xml and the banner_images are all in the root directory. That's not possible and totally unacceptable. So I did get some info here about setting a parameter like this :: :: which is exactly where the data.xml file resides. I figured that had to be the solution. Still no data gets loaded.... unless I have the data.xml, banner.swf, banner_images, all in the root directory where page.php which contains the object code resides. How can I make this seemingly easy thing work

Nov 17, 2009I have redesigned my site from a flashmo template and all is fine except for my thumbnail string not loading/showing in any browsers or even in my dreamweaver & flash previews.
my site is [url]... if you press on the 'decor' button you'll see the place where the thumbnails should be coming up and loading - but all it shows is a permanent loading sign on the first thumbnail and nothing else.

1)Logo.mc (Instance Name:Logo) comes on stage first after 5 Seconds
2)Header_mc (Instance Name:Header) should come second ater 5 Seconds
3)Introduction_mc (Instance Name: Introduction) should come at last
