ActionScript 3.0 :: Looking For Tutorial Showing Flash Big Splash Movie With Hidden Div Tag?

I'm not even sure what you call it. When you go to some of the major web sites and big flash movie with option to shorten it is displayed. I've search the web for this and maybe i not calling it right.
What is the name of this flash movie called when you come to site and big flash movie comes up and pushes everything down? It has a option to reduce size by clicking button.
Anybody know where you can find this tutorial?

Check out the link below, as you can see my overlay is hidden behind the flash element. However, the blue bar with the 'Continue' button appears above everything. Does anyone know what CSS changes I need to make so the overlay will appear above everything below it? The background loads an iframe.

I can't add wmode="transparent" to the embed tag, since I have no control over the page loaded in the iframe.

I sent an email to pom regarding a tutorial that he wrote, but the email was bounced and he hasn't replied to my PM. I have followed both of pom's tutorials that involve experiments with perspective in Flash, but I have encountered a problem while attempting to duplicate a movie clip symbol in the second tutorial ([URL]). I have a single instance of the "ball" movie clip symbol appearing at random positions. However, I cannot seem to successfully duplicate the symbol instance at random positions using the loop that pom provided:

My website is already done, however I found some sad property right after completion and publishing. When I zoom out (with ctrl+mousewheel or ctrl+-) my content which should be hidden is revealed which looks terrible and ruins whole effect (as you can see in the link below).

I did not use any mask, as I could not overcome the issue that I needed 2 masks actually - one for the whole opacity in the middle, and second for the rest with slight opacity and I believed flash CS 5 does not allow this.Therefore I used simple layer with low opacity and small cut window in front leaving my moving pictures in the back.Now is there any way I prevent either browser from zooming out or zooming in(javascript perhpas?) or Flash from showing off-document content?I think I've tried every combination of Flash publishing. Every time after zoom out the space between flash object and the rest of the html are enlarged and pictures off-screen are shown.

I recently experienced a very strange bug and even afteruninstalling and reinstalling Flash the bug is still there. Myproblem is as follows: existing symbols on stage appear blank withthe correct bounding box. FIlls and lines appear correctly, but assoon as they are converted to a symbol they disappear. I have a flex application that uses BrowserManager for Deep Linking.
But whenever the # changes the new hash fragment gets appending to the bottom of the page. In IE it is inside a frame that says "Hidden frame for Browser History support." I didn't even know it worked that way. But anyways it is not supposed to be showing up visibly on the page but it is..

I have a web based slide show that reads an xml file and loads images from a folder on the server. The client would now like to also offer this slideshow on a cd. I'm pretty sure that I can save all the assets to on the cd and the slideshow will work. But the client is concerned that someone with the cd will be able to directly access the images on the cd. So, here's my non-flash flash question, can the folder storing the images on the cd be hidden yet still be read by the flash movie?

I have a couple of movies, one of them hiding partially the other one. I would like to detect when someone clicks on a movie. I know that this can be done easily by using the hitTestPoint function. The problem is when the user clicks on the intersections of these movies. In that case the hitTestPoint function says that the user is clicking both movies. But actually the user is clicking only one movie, because the other movie is partially hidden. How can I program this behavior in a natural way?

I have a page.php with a flash banner embeded. banner.swf loads, but displays nothing because it is not getting its data from data.xml which is in flash/lighter/data.xmlIt only works if the banner.swf and data.xml and the banner_images are all in the root directory. That's not possible and totally unacceptable. So I did get some info here about setting a parameter like this :: :: which is exactly where the data.xml file resides. I figured that had to be the solution. Still no data gets loaded.... unless I have the data.xml, banner.swf, banner_images, all in the root directory where page.php which contains the object code resides. How can I make this seemingly easy thing work

I need a few answers and pointers for my game [URL] First off, is it possible for a graphic to be hidden once a movie clip has been dragged over it? The plan is for the grid to be covered in question marks, until the users drags the small smiley over the same large smiley at which point the question mark will be hidden revealing the large smiley. The user then gets a 2nd chance to match up the other remaining smiley, if they fail to get the right smiley is it possible for the question mark image to appear back over the top of the smileys?

I have redesigned my site from a flashmo template and all is fine except for my thumbnail string not loading/showing in any browsers or even in my dreamweaver & flash previews.
my site is [url]... if you press on the 'decor' button you'll see the place where the thumbnails should be coming up and loading - but all it shows is a permanent loading sign on the first thumbnail and nothing else.

I'm working on an educational Flash animation. In one scene I have 4 buttons which need to show different movieclips. I have created all 4 movie clips and inserted into one layer in 4 frames, one after another one. I also gave the frames specific names. Then the buttons are all in one frame with a name so I could call it when we're on "rollout" mode. Now, when I go over the first button it shows its movieclip perfectly but the second one show two, overlapping, with the previous frame! I did also deleted the previous movie clip but still get the same error!!!
Here is the code that I use:

lobes is the name of the scene, think is the name of the frame which has the movie clip and "lobes-button" is the name of the frame which has all the buttons without any movie clips.

Ive just finished a flash web site that ive used a lot of XML for loading my images from thumbnails. Its works great.
Except it takes maybe 3-4 minutes to load. I think whats happening is its loading all the images in that XML file before it even shows the first thumbnail, so thats like 2MB its loading.
Is there a way to preload all of the xml files at the start on my Flash splash page?

I have started this animation and I am turning rain drops into movie clips with a small splash animation in the clip. I can just copy and paste them so I won't have to animate each one or do programming. When I test this with the swf file they turn out fine. But when I try to export this into a jpeg/png,or avi the full animation in the movie clip doesn't work. It just shows the first frame. Is there a way to make this work since I would really like the single jgep files or avi since I need to transfer this to other programs. I thought there was a way to do this but I cannot remember or I don't know if they changed it with cs4 XD.

original: I really just need to figure out how to center the pictures. here is what I did I have modified the tutorial that I finished to have a bigger stage for bigger pictures. Everything is working properly but the pictures are displayed on the left side, I want to have them centered in the stage for the images, after clicking on the thumbnails, plus my images are different sizes as well. ranging from 200x410 to 744x410 but all are the same height of 410. i will post up what I am talking about at the end. Whenever I open a new movieclip in Flash, the stage size is distorted (should be a 600 x 450). It should be a rectangle and be placed in the middle of the screen. Instead, when I open a new movie clip, the stage is placed all the way to the left of the screen and I only have pasteboard on the right hand side. Because of this, I can't see the entire stage
