Flash 10 :: Hidden Flash Content Showing Up When Zoomed Out?
Aug 11, 2011
My website is already done, however I found some sad property right after completion and publishing. When I zoom out (with ctrl+mousewheel or ctrl+-) my content which should be hidden is revealed which looks terrible and ruins whole effect (as you can see in the link below).

I did not use any mask, as I could not overcome the issue that I needed 2 masks actually - one for the whole opacity in the middle, and second for the rest with slight opacity and I believed flash CS 5 does not allow this. Therefore I used simple layer with low opacity and small cut window in front leaving my moving pictures in the back. Now is there any way I prevent either browser from zooming out or zooming in(javascript perhpas?) or Flash from showing off-document content?I think I've tried every combination of Flash publishing. Every time after zoom out the space between flash object and the rest of the html are enlarged and pictures off-screen are shown.
I'm not even sure what you call it. When you go to some of the major web sites and big flash movie with option to shorten it is displayed. I've search the web for this and maybe i not calling it right.
What is the name of this flash movie called when you come to site and big flash movie comes up and pushes everything down? It has a option to reduce size by clicking button.
why when setting a movieclip's cachebitmap to true, and the zooming into this movieclip (when previewing it), the pixels of the movieclip don't appear (but it appears like a regular vector shape??
I want to do a ZOOM functionality in Flash cs3/cs4. I will tell you how it has to work. On left side of the stage there is an image, and on top of the image there is a square shape of movieclip will be there and we can able to drag that sqaure on top of the image. so according to that dragging position, i need show a respective zoomed image on right hand side.
I am displaying some flash content on a fairly standard page. This works really well when the flash, xml file and html page are sitting together in the same directory.I want to display that same content in another page which is deeper inside the site but outside of the directory that houses the .swf and .xml files as well as the assets. Here is the page that I would like the content to show up properly on: http:[url].....Here are the parameters that I have set:
This is my site: [URL] If you click on content menus you may notice that content comes in for a while then it hides. It happens only in firefox. Works ok on IE. This is my button script when someone clicks on one of the menu, if theres something wrong with my code:
I recently experienced a very strange bug and even afteruninstalling and reinstalling Flash the bug is still there. Myproblem is as follows: existing symbols on stage appear blank withthe correct bounding box. FIlls and lines appear correctly, but assoon as they are converted to a symbol they disappear. Componentslike the included drop down menu appear correctly.img1img2img3
I have a full flash site which uses swfobject to embed it 100% height and width. I'm using swffit to force a browser scroll bar for pages with a large amount of content. This is all fine and works perfectly. I also have the content in HTML format, as alternative content and this also works apart from in order to get the flash swfobject to work I need to add the overflow = hidden in the CSS, like:
I have a swf page that I would like to convert to a png file. Before I convert the file, I would like to zoom in to the swf file so that I have a larger image. I try swftools to convert, but the png image quality is not good enough: Zoomed-in png image looks too blurry.
I should do to capture/use a zoomed-in version of a swf file. A linux compatible command line tool would be great as I am thinking of converting hundreds of images.
I have a flex application that uses BrowserManager for Deep Linking.
But whenever the # changes the new hash fragment gets appending to the bottom of the page. In IE it is inside a frame that says "Hidden frame for Browser History support." I didn't even know it worked that way. But anyways it is not supposed to be showing up visibly on the page but it is..
I am loading a jpg into my Flash. When I zoom into the flash in the browser (for example, setting the zoom to 125%) the jpg in the flash starts to distort and pixelate. How do I get Flash to not pixelate the jpg?
I have a SWF file that is loading text from an xml file. The text loads and animates fine when viewing it embedded in an html page zoomed to 100%. It even looks fine when loading at 100% and then zooming in. My problem is that the text field will not display when the page reloads while zoomed at anything other than 100%. It gets even weirder because everything is fine if I set the text of the dynamic field via a static string, the same string as in the xml file.
I'm using flex. The flash object is remain the same size and not scaling when zoom in/out from browser. So the swf is not properly displayed in the given div. I'm wondering how this example could scaling nicely when zoomed in/out.
I am building a portfolio site, and I want my content to occupy all the browser window.
Like this site: http://********theglass.com/ [URL]
I know GAIA have the ability to do this but I don't know how to use it, and the more I look to it, the more I think it will be overkill to use on my project.
I want my background to occupy 100% of the browser window and have the content to be centered.
Is there a much simpler way to do that without having to do it in a framework?
1.I am getting the content from XML and showing to the text box. If the content is more than the text field size then its hide the content. Please tell me how I adjust the height of the text box according to the XML content.
2.I have some XML content with HTML links and loading this to another text box. I need to highlight the corresponding content(link) when mouse over.
my css drop down menu is hidden behind a flash element I have on my site. I have tried changing the z index but still nothing. Please help.... here is the page.[URL]..
I have two layers in my flash cs4. Lower layer contains pink color random brush strokes. The upper layer contains black rectangle. I am able to see the pink color brush strokes through my black rectangle as if I have reduced the alpha of the rectangle?
I have been able to create a loop that loads it's from an XML list. What I'd like to do now is have a link stored so that when I click on an item in the list, it adds the appropriate text to the description text box. Presently I only have this scripted to trace but it populates with the last description in the list only. How can i assign a link to each item in the list?
ActionScript Code: var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onLoaded); var _XML:XML;

This is a custom flash template I downloaded, when you watch/use the template you can see about me, and all the text in it, however when I attempt to edit it to my specs, I see the frame where it is located, but I cannot edit any text, because I can't SEE any text!!So basically, in editing mode, I don't see any text to edit, but when using the template, I see a lot of info... I have no idea what to do, and please keep in mind I am in no means a professional, or even intermediately good with Flash...
But I need my video in DIV2 to STOP PLAYING when it's hidden, and start from the beginning when you show it again. From what I read, I need to remove it from the DOM...but I don't understand how to re-add it. I've seen suggestions for detach(); but can't figure out where my AppendTo() would go.
I have a flash file that is in a div that is hidden when the page is loaded with the css property display:none. The div with the flash content is then shown at a later stage through javascript.
When will the flash file load? Ideally, I only want it to load when the div is shown.
I have imported movieclip on my stage. But this movieclip has objects which lay out of borders of this movieclip, so I've got part of objects on stage which must be invisible, but they are not invisible.
I am trying to make a flash file open a specific xml file from a URL that is set in the php file. when a the page is loaded, the php file is called for the variable. you must use a query line in the URL....example : [URL]
the php file should see the 'folder' variable and use it in the url that i want to load the xml file from. Once the variable is set in the php file, i want to transfer it to the swf file without having to change the url that the user types.
Here is basically what i want to do....
i want to be able to type in www.mysite.com/test.swf?folder=MyFolder in the browser. the php file will check some stuff in the mysql database and make sure that the user's space is not used up.....i can do that part with the space. If the user's space is not used up, it will post a variable to the swf file to load the xml file with the 'folder' variable in the url.. example :.com/TheFolderVariable/thexmlfile.xml Once the variable is passed to the swf file, it will load properly.
I was trying to use the loadVars() and the loadVariable() commands but i cannot get the php file to post back to the swf.
I have created this contact form and it works when i hit the submit button but for some reason when I load the page for the first time I get some junk that appears into the box.
Is there anyway to have it not show anything in the box? In edit mode I dont have anything in the text boxes, but when the the flash loads it puts that junk in there.
I'm loading text from an external txt file into a dynamic text field. This dynamic text field is inside a movie clip, which is loaded into the ScrollPane.
The text shows up in the ScrollPane, and when testing locally the scroll bar appears and works, but when I'm testing online the text still appears in the ScrollPane, but there is not scroll bar... it is cut off at the bottom of the ScrollPane with no scrolling ability. Why isn't the scroll bar showing when testing online? The MC being loaded into the scroll pane is called "newsContent" and the scroll pane is called "scrollPane".
Code: //Dynamic News Section _root.contentNews.scrollPane.contentPath = "newsContent"; var mcMain:MovieClip;
This is my final project for a multimedia class I have, a link of which is here[URL]...Basically, I have a movie clip instance (loader_mc). I have the buttons loading external swfs with this code:
I've noticed (a few months ago, actually) that in most browsers I use to test my application (Firefox, chrome and explorer) the flash plug in, while playing it's content, will stop, or freeze, when the actual plug in playback window is out of the window (due to scrolling, or switching tabs), or covered by another window (a different browser or program window that will cover the visible area of the player), which is something good, and nice, when you think about web pages full of commercials slowing down your browser and computer in general, but what happens when you a games programmer, who work with multiplayer games, on games which are mostly turn based? If one of my players switches tabs, open a new window over the browser, or god forbids, scroll down the page, the game is essentially stopped, since no events occur on that players side of the game!! And this does not effect just simple frame based animation, but everything, onEnterFrame events stop, setInterval stops... the only thing that I could find that does not stop when this happens is a setInterval action done in a different swf, which is loaded to a different level of my game file.
