I have Flash project that I have placed in Dreamweaver and when I test it, it's not showing up on Firefox, but it does in IE. I'm publishing .swf, html, and .exe and .app. Is it the way I'm publishing it or is it in Dreamweaver?
View 5 RepliesCurrently I cannot get my flash file to show up on one section of my webpage in firefox, but it loads fine in all other browsers. This is the second flash file that I have added and the first one works perfectly fine. The website files are all .php and is driven by templates.
I have wmode set to opaque as before and haven't used any different publishing .smv settings. However to have it show up I have to change the php file for the webpage and add a "/" to the <param name="movie" value="/new.swf" /> line before the movie file name. The file is placed in the directory.
The tricky thing is that in the other movie I didn't have to place this / sign and it works in all browsers. I have republished and republished and can't get anything to work.[url]...
I am trying to implement a Flash YouTube video player on this page. [code]...
The only problem is that the player does not show up. Scroll down the page and right below Secondary Headline there is a large white space - this is where the player is.
I have tried it in isolation here and it works fine, but something is messing it up on the destination page.
I've been struggling to get some absolutely positioned overlays to show above an flv movie(using flowplayer) in the firefox browser(works in safari)I have the overlays div placed underneath the video html "wrapper" and have tried using a high z-index on the overlays but to no avail. Is there anything i may be doing wrong? Or another trick i could try?

The Flash movie is simply a graphic with a transparent spot in the middle.I've attached the fla, swf, and html files as well. I'm using swfObject for the embedding of the Flash content.
Weirdness today while trying to get Flash to load some external content (PHP, XML and images). It works fine in everything except Firefox on a PC (Even in IE! What a world! But I digress...). I've got a SWF that loads an external PHP file, along with an external XML file, which in turn references external images to be loaded. When I look at the Net panel in Firebug, it's showing that the SWF is loading, but none of the other external files are getting pulled. Anybody know why? This works really well when the flash, xml file and html page are sitting together in the same directory.I want to display that same content in another page which is deeper inside the site but outside of the directory that houses the .swf and .xml files as well as the assets.Here is the page that I would like the content to show up properly on: http:[url].....Here are the parameters that I have set:

The js files are loading properly but the flash content is not, so I could use a little help getting that sorted out.

I'm having some strange issues with FF displaying my .swfs, some files show up and some don't. All the files are loading through XML and show up when tested locally.
Once in the browser the first few show up then after that just text, no image's at all. When I "zoom" in the image is then there and when I zoom out it remains...I've used another PC to check and it does the same thing.
I have a .swf slider I built which loads other .swfs through XML, it works fine locally and on the server. However in Firefox the first few images show up but several do not. I've tried remaking the files and using new images but it still doesn't work correctly. I thought it was a transparency issue, but all the files are transparent and some do show up!
View 1 RepliesMy website is already done, however I found some sad property right after completion and publishing. When I zoom out (with ctrl+mousewheel or ctrl+-) my content which should be hidden is revealed which looks terrible and ruins whole effect (as you can see in the link below).

I did not use any mask, as I could not overcome the issue that I needed 2 masks actually - one for the whole opacity in the middle, and second for the rest with slight opacity and I believed flash CS 5 does not allow this.Therefore I used simple layer with low opacity and small cut window in front leaving my moving pictures in the back.Now is there any way I prevent either browser from zooming out or zooming in(javascript perhpas?) or Flash from showing off-document content?I think I've tried every combination of Flash publishing. Every time after zoom out the space between flash object and the rest of the html are enlarged and pictures off-screen are shown.
I have a full flash site which uses swfobject to embed it 100% height and width. I'm using swffit to force a browser scroll bar for pages with a large amount of content. This is all fine and works perfectly. I also have the content in HTML format, as alternative content and this also works apart from in order to get the flash swfobject to work I need to add the overflow = hidden in the CSS, like:

I have built a Flash site and also set it up with alternate content so it can be viewed on iPhone and iPad as well as other mobile devices. It works great everywhere but in FireFox the site's swf loads on the page twice.Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so, what have you done to work around this FireFox bug?

I want my background to occupy 100% of the browser window and have the content to be centered.
Is there a much simpler way to do that without having to do it in a framework?
1.I am getting the content from XML and showing to the text box. If the content is more than the text field size then its hide the content. Please tell me how I adjust the height of the text box according to the XML content.

I have two layers in my flash cs4. Lower layer contains pink color random brush strokes. The upper layer contains black rectangle. I am able to see the pink color brush strokes through my black rectangle as if I have reduced the alpha of the rectangle?

What I'd like to do now is have a link stored so that when I click on an item in the list, it adds the appropriate text to the description text box. Presently I only have this scripted to trace but it populates with the last description in the list only. How can i assign a link to each item in the list?

View 2 RepliesI have created this contact form and it works when i hit the submit button but for some reason when I load the page for the first time I get some junk that appears into the box.
Is there anyway to have it not show anything in the box? In edit mode I dont have anything in the text boxes, but when the the flash loads it puts that junk in there.
I'm loading text from an external txt file into a dynamic text field. This dynamic text field is inside a movie clip, which is loaded into the ScrollPane.
The text shows up in the ScrollPane, and when testing locally the scroll bar appears and works, but when I'm testing online the text still appears in the ScrollPane, but there is not scroll bar... it is cut off at the bottom of the ScrollPane with no scrolling ability. Why isn't the scroll bar showing when testing online? The MC being loaded into the scroll pane is called "newsContent" and the scroll pane is called "scrollPane".

works perfect on my macbook pro (safari, firefox, and opera) but when I view the site on Vmare Fusion Windows XP and use IE and FireFox the pages don't load... I don't know what to make of this. Has anyone hear or seen anything like this happen before? BTW the website was created in Adobe Flash CS4/ AS 3.0 and published using Flash Player 10.
View 2 RepliesI have flash movie that I'm loading other movieclips and swfs into.At the moment when I load in a new swf, the timeline plays through the intro sequence, then when I select new content to load into replace it the movie simply vanishes without showing the outro sequence.It's been puzzling me for a while now but i've seen it used on many flash sites so i'm guessing there's definately a way to do it.
View 4 RepliesI'm have made some buttons (movie clip) and when I click on it, I want a file (home.swf) to load in a loader (mx.contents.loader) and I want the other buttons to do the same, all load into the same loader. I have no Idea how to do that. The way I have it set up now, the home.swf will load over the entire screen and that is not what I want. I just want the content to load into the loader and have its content change once I click on the other buttons. Here is a copy and past of that I have at the moment, I'm using Flash 8 to do it all.

how it is possible to edit dynamic content and modify the content and save it, all within flash.I have tried some experiments in the past and have got the text to change etc which is easy but i need a way to save the content so the next time anybody sees the flash it will have the latest content until i change it again.

I'm developing a Flash application which is communicating with Javascript to allow more features such as custom html input etc., by placing an absolute positioned div on top of the flash application and controlling it's position etc. with Flash & Javascript.
Because these html elements have to appear above the flash content, I figured the following basic css would be enough to do the trick:

So, the htmlContent has a higher z-index than the flash content and thus it should be shown above it. Unfortunately, this only seems to work when you set the Flash object's "wmode" parameter to "transparent".
The problem with this setting is that it's seriousely decreasing the application's framerate to an unacceptable amount.
For static content this does not seem to be a problem, however for my application there's all kinds of elements that you can drag around which have to be moved real-time (while moving the mouse).
So, how do I enable html content on top of flash content without using the "transparent" wmode parameter or how do I optimize framerate when using the "transparent" wmode parameter?
