ActionScript 2.0 :: Select New Content To Load Into Replace It The Movie Simply Vanishes Without Showing The Outro Sequence?
Aug 2, 2007
I have flash movie that I'm loading other movieclips and swfs into.At the moment when I load in a new swf, the timeline plays through the intro sequence, then when I select new content to load into replace it the movie simply vanishes without showing the outro sequence.It's been puzzling me for a while now but i've seen it used on many flash sites so i'm guessing there's definately a way to do it.
this is used to load a movie on an event right:[code] what if I want to load a movie simply at a certain point in the movie, ie a keyframe, what is the code applied to the keyframe and why/how is it different?
I have created this contact form and it works when i hit the submit button but for some reason when I load the page for the first time I get some junk that appears into the box.
Is there anyway to have it not show anything in the box? In edit mode I dont have anything in the text boxes, but when the the flash loads it puts that junk in there.
This is my final project for a multimedia class I have, a link of which is here[URL]...Basically, I have a movie clip instance (loader_mc). I have the buttons loading external swfs with this code:
Each of the button should load it's external SWF's intro when click.My problem is that I don't know how to command the button to play the swf's outro and then load the next swf everytime I click a button. Example: When I click homeButton_btn, the external swf should load "home.swf" and then if I am going to click page1Button_btn, the outro of "home.swf' should play and then once it reaches the end of it's timeline, it should load "page1.swf". Same goes with page2Button_btn, whatever swf that is on the stage should play it's outro first and then load "page2.swf"
My questions are: 1. How can I control the external SWF to play it's outro and then load the next SWF.
2. What code should I put at the end of the external SWF's timeline.
3. Where do you think I should put the preloader? Is it better to put it at the external swf timeline? or on my main swf timeline?
4. Does load and unload of external swf also work with movieclips? Like for example I will not use a external swfs, instead I will use movieclips to load and unload its content.My Actionscript 3.0 code
var pageContainer:Loader; pageContainer = new Loader(); var nextMov:String;[code].........
I want to do is a simple transition that allows to me start some function (at the external swf!) to dismount the LOADED content. I'd like to change the external contents with intros and "outros" located on their own timelines.. It's a simple logic, but I dont know how to manage that.. Everytime I try some simple, it never happens.
I'm currently using two arrays to load a sequence of videos in 2 zones of the Flash movie.
var zoneAarray:Array = new Array("movie1.mp4", "movie2.mp4", "movie3.mp4"); var zoneBarray:Array = new Array("movie4.mp4", "movie5.mp4", "movie6.mp4"); var clipA:String = zoneAarray[0];[code]....
Everything works fine, but I would like to import the list of videos from an XML file instead of hard-coding it in Flash
i have a Flex tree control and im trying to select a tree node 3 levels down right after the dataProvider is assigned with a collection object like the following.basically treeItem1, treeItem2, treeItem3 are the nodes in the tree and treeitem3 is a child of treeItem2 which is a child of treeItem1. Assume these treeItem(1,2,3) are referenced correctly from the collection items.
my problem is that if i wait for the whole component to load completely then select the nodes, it open/select/scrolltoIndex correctly. However, if i were to select the node right after the dataProvider is assigned, then it doesn't even open or select (basically the this.treeService.selectedItem is always null).
I have an array of menu items that I'm trying to display in a sequence with a short delay between showing each item in 3 columns. Without manually creating individual text fields and putting them on many frames, how would I do this with actionscript?
A rudimentary question from a neophyte. I just want to play some music as part of my swf file and at the end of the song, automatically retrieve a web page. I'm finding a lot of answers for very complex questions, but nothing quite so basic.
When I try to load an external image in the same folder with a Loader object, I receive the error SecurityError: Error #2000: No active security context.My code is :
var urlImg = String("img.jpg"); var imgLoader:Loader = new Loader(); var _lInfo:LoaderInfo = imgLoader.contentLoaderInfo;
what is the code needed to create a simple .swf file that once double-clicked on opens and all it has inside it's window is an iframed website (scrolling and resizing are optional), basically a simple flash mini-browser if you will, with no navigation features of any kind just the ability to click inside and maybe refresh the page...
I simply would like to know is it possible and then what is the code needed to create a simple .swf file that once double-clicked on opens and all it has inside it's window is an iframed website (scrolling and resizing are optional), basically a simple flash mini-browser if you will, with no navigation features of any kind just the ability to click inside and maybe refresh the page...
i am trying to dynamically load some content using actionscript into my movie but i already have content on standard layers within the movie. so everytime i start the movie and the dynamic content is loaded it loads it all on top of the content already displayed on the normal layers and i want it to load underneath the content that i have already put there myself.
for example, i have made my menu using flash and have it on a layer in the main MC, when the movie loads it loads the following script which loads the content pages of the site. but it loads it ontop of the menu therefore you cannot see the menu to view different content as it is being covered by the content pages. i would like it to load below the menu so that you can see the menu and choose what content you are to view.
I am trying to simply stop the movie from playing on a frame, the way we used to do with stop(). Every tutorial source I have looked at is a blur of words like stop and movie being used in too many ways. I'm not stopping an external flv. I'm not stopping an external or embedded swf. I just want to stop the movie that this frame is a part of until the user chooses to advance to the next frame.
I have some dynamic text in an swf, that sits in an html doc, with the width & height set to 100%, in order to have the swf scale depending on screen size.
Everything works really well apart from a dynamic text field (which pulls in slide numbers) which disappears or reappears depending on the size of the window or when the window is resized. [URL]
I have a base that contains a load movie action loading "drag_bar.swf" into an mc called "content".drag_bar is a drag menu i created. It works when its opened by itself but doesnt work once it has been loaded into the base file.I know its because the AS in it contains the word "root" but when i changed it to "this", it still didnt work.
On a few rather cliche'd flash sites, the loading process is preceded by a scrolling bar in which the percentage of loaded bytes or frames is shown. instead of making a new % scroller for every file/movie I make (and want to display separately), could I make a scroller as it's own movie and simply import it from a library? (Dumb question, I know, but I'm the kinda guy who'd prefer Perl over PHP.)
Developing APPs on IOS using Flex 4.6 I am displaying parsed epub files into stagewebview. It works fine on the device. However, when I try to add the annotation tool which (likes the ibook annotation), I can only select one single word!! I tried the "Game of Flex" which it did the same way as loading a web content into a stagewebview component, and it cannot have control to select more word as well. Therefore, I think its the current limitation (correct me if there is actually a way to do that in stagewebview) on the stagewebview. So, do you guys have other good ideas to display content as html without the limitation? like use other components, call JS? or use native object-c?
I am building a portfolio site, and I want my content to occupy all the browser window.
Like this site: http://********theglass.com/ [URL]
I know GAIA have the ability to do this but I don't know how to use it, and the more I look to it, the more I think it will be overkill to use on my project.
I want my background to occupy 100% of the browser window and have the content to be centered.
Is there a much simpler way to do that without having to do it in a framework?
1.I am getting the content from XML and showing to the text box. If the content is more than the text field size then its hide the content. Please tell me how I adjust the height of the text box according to the XML content.
2.I have some XML content with HTML links and loading this to another text box. I need to highlight the corresponding content(link) when mouse over.
I am displaying some flash content on a fairly standard page. This works really well when the flash, xml file and html page are sitting together in the same directory.I want to display that same content in another page which is deeper inside the site but outside of the directory that houses the .swf and .xml files as well as the assets.Here is the page that I would like the content to show up properly on: http:[url].....Here are the parameters that I have set:
This is my site: [URL] If you click on content menus you may notice that content comes in for a while then it hides. It happens only in firefox. Works ok on IE. This is my button script when someone clicks on one of the menu, if theres something wrong with my code:
I have two layers in my flash cs4. Lower layer contains pink color random brush strokes. The upper layer contains black rectangle. I am able to see the pink color brush strokes through my black rectangle as if I have reduced the alpha of the rectangle?
I have been able to create a loop that loads it's from an XML list. What I'd like to do now is have a link stored so that when I click on an item in the list, it adds the appropriate text to the description text box. Presently I only have this scripted to trace but it populates with the last description in the list only. How can i assign a link to each item in the list?
ActionScript Code: var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onLoaded); var _XML:XML;

I'm have made some buttons (movie clip) and when I click on it, I want a file (home.swf) to load in a loader (mx.contents.loader) and I want the other buttons to do the same, all load into the same loader. I have no Idea how to do that. The way I have it set up now, the home.swf will load over the entire screen and that is not what I want. I just want the content to load into the loader and have its content change once I click on the other buttons. Here is a copy and past of that I have at the moment, I'm using Flash 8 to do it all.
