I wish to show balls being added on everyframe. But I want to to be able to increase/decrease the speed of it without changing the speed of everything else.
I've got an Adobe Captivate file which is pulling through an SWF which I have created. I am not sure exactly how the CP file is importing this SWF but it is.I'd like to ensure that this SWF is on the uppermost layer when the file is published as at the moment it is placed further down the order - which leaves it obscured by other elements on screen. Is there any AS3 code like onEnterFrame or something like that in AS3 which would lift it to the highest depth?
My problem is that I have multiple layers in that movie clip and the code above changes every layer to that color. Is there a way I can change only the first layers color?
I am making an animation with subtitles (separate layer) but at the menu I have made a subtitle button that should change the visibility of the second layer, but I can't get past that bit.
Is there a way to change the background color of the layers the Flash timeline itself? I'm using XP, and there is not enough difference in the color of a selected layer and one with extended keyframes that is not selected. At school I use a Mac and there is definitely a blue vs. a gray. On my computer, they are two very close shades of gray.

and I want some movie clips to appear infront as well as behind it, but right now it always appears on the bottom layer. Is there a way to attach the drawing to a movie clip or something so I can change it's depth?
I have a template that I am editing. I have created new layers by duplicating an existing layer. The problem I am having is that anytime I make a change to a duplicated layer it changes the original as well. ie if I attempt to edit the action script on the new layer it changes the action script on the original? It seems as though they are linked and I can not find a way to unlink them??
I am having a problem where my buttons on main timeline are working fine. When I create a button within a movieclip layer (a page importeded from Photoshop as a movieclip) the button is not working once I leave. It doesn't show as a working button when I select Enable simple buttons, when I preview or publish as HTML. The thing is, it is a button, it has an instance name, is that weird blue color... and it works fine when I am double clicked into that movieclip layer. I also tried common library buttons and they work fine until I leave that layer as well, also tried it within other layers and creating a new file and doing it... all no success!
I don't know if this is possible, but can you have a button on one layer play a mc on another layer? I am trying to build a file where when my button is clicked, it will move the x and y axis of a movie clip on the layer below. I'm working in CS4 action script 3.0 (no drop down menu option?)
I am trying to add these two layers (in moogaloop_success.zip) to this template (flashmo_140_business), and I have been struggling to add it for more than week. Trying innumerable google searches to no avail. Layers:[URL]My goal is to add this new Button in say "Our Services" layer as movie_btn and open a new window to vimeo website when that button is pressed (as shown in moogaloop_success.zip).
I changed the wlink symbol in moogaloop_success.zip to movie_btn, but I keep getting errors like, Error 1119: Access of possibly undefined property movie_btn through a reference with static type class. or Error 1009: cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

What I have going on is basically a sideshow. I have six monsters/creatures separated into three parts under the top, middle and bottom layers. I have six arrows (already working buttons) to control previous and next functions (action script already working and on a loop). My end goal is to have the prev/next arrows control the appropriate top, middle, or bottom section making all the monsters/creatures interchangeable. ex:cat ears, monkey eyes, robot mouth ect...

I have a bunch of areas on a map that I've turned into buttons. When the user does a MOUSE_OVER on a button, I'd like an info box to show up so they can see some information. So far, I've created my info boxes as movies clips with fade-in/out tweens between frames.
i CAN'T CLICK on any button, movieclip layer and have actionscript work, it just says "CURRENT SELECTION CANNOT HAVE ACTIONS APPLIED TO IT" what do i have to do so that i can click on my button's and go in action pannel and be able to input my actions without it saying "CURRENT SELECTION CANNOT HAVE ACTIONS APPLIED TO IT"
i have a button named biografy_btn and that should link to another frame on same layer wich contains other information, i labeled that next frame: biografie

I made a button a stage, and I want the button to take the user to a separate scene that I have named "Biography page" when it is clicked. The thing is, I want all my actions on one specific layer. So I made an instance name for my button, "aboutme". The thing is... I have no idea how to write the code.
I have a form saved as an html page, and at the moment my contact button launches this page in a pop up.What I would like is that so when you click my contact button, it loads the pages as a layer so it fits in more with the website and loads ontop of the flash file. For an example check out www.dobi.nu - its and html website but if you go to illustrations and click and image the page loads on top as a layer, just wanna know if it can be done with flash.
I am doing some research on creating clcikTags. I read a few places that the clcikTag should be on the top layer. That has been fine, but now I want to loop it and I usually put my actions in the top layer. Will this cause a problem? Am I better off just putting my loop action on the last key frame of the clcikTag layer?
Im creating a program that is designed to allow the used to select 3 pictures (movie clips) and print them off on a single peace of paper.
The program works by allowing the user to select 3 graphics (the graphics are actually instructions for various exercises) and then moving the desired movieclips onto the stage. This all happens on a layer named "Content"
So far the program will allow the user to select the movieclips and will move them into place on the Content layer as well as move smaller versions of the pictures into a preview box the only thing it does not do is print. (the most important bit)

I can't seem to go to a master edit file that is supposed to show both the body (layer 1) and wing (layer 2) of a flying bird animation. Is there a way to merge these two since I'm planning on shrinking it down and making a lot of birds?He merged the two layers at 14:24 of the video without even explaining how he went to this so called "Edit Master Movie Clip" that seems non-existent on Adobe Flash CS4.
I want to create a simple mask. A white oval on a second layer on top of a bottom layer that just has a word of type. I want the oval to travel from the upper left down to cover up the type. When I create the second layer, create the oval, and choose a distant frame for the "end" of the oval's positioning, my type in the first layer disappears as soon as I press F6 on that second layer. Why? Why is it nuking my first layer?
I have a container MovieClip called Drags where I can drag stamps (other MovieClips)--they are added to the Drags container via addChild. I have a second container MovieClip above that one (display order-wise) call Paint that contains a bmp, and some sprites used for adding a layer of paint.
My question is this: I need to be able to click on the Paint layer when I am above a draggable MovieClip and trigger the MouseEvent for the correct object to drag it around, but the item must always remain below the Paint layer.
I'm making an interactive map of the U.S. The layer with the outlines of the U.S. states sits on top. It has to sit on top because otherwise the outlines don't show up above the color fills for each state. I want a popup balloon to appear when you roll over each U.S. state. However, when I turn a state, say, New York, into a button, the button layer sits below the outline layer. So when I create the popup box for the button's rollover state, the popup box is *under* the US state outlines. How can I make the button rollover state exist on the highest layer?
