and the button is within a couple of movie clips, but you can still click it when you test

i have a button named biografy_btn and that should link to another frame on same layer wich contains other information, i labeled that next frame: biografie

but..it does not work, i keep seeing to tekst from frame 1 and the "other info" frame flickering both at same time and the button does not do a thing...
I am trying to make a light comparison chart where the lights can be turned on inividually by the user and one can be compared to another depending on which of the 6 lights you want to view.So far i have managed to make this work with 5 lights over 33 layers and diffferent buttons and different handlers for each of the buttons on each layer but as soon as the 4 and 5 light come into play everything slows down struggles and sometimes gives up.Is there a simple way of doing this which i am unaware of.I am currently using the gotoandstop comand to go to a specific frame based on the button press.

View 7 RepliesUsing Actionscript 3 Have a button called "breckenridge". I also have a scene called "breckenridge". On a keyframe is the following code.

When I test the movie and I press the "breckenridge" button it takes me to the "breckenridge" scene and stops on the the first frame. Then I get the following error message

my main timeline, what I am assuming is my first scene called "aspen", stops at frame 300. What gives? Okay, I know everyone hates scenes because it causes navigation problems. However I have this .fla split into sections and I intend to add more stuff to each section in the future. The easiest way I can think to organize these sections with out having a hodge podge of added stuff jumbled on one time line is to break it into scenes.
I want the press button to detect the last button pressed and if the shapes match, make them do something...obviously. I think I'm going at it the wrong way. I need to stick a "triange" id into the button/mc then if compares that and then if there is a match works then... right?

View 3 RepliesI'm loading in 5 jpegs from an external file using "loadMovie" and i have 5 corresponding buttons (1-5) to load them with.
I want to change the jpeg the button loads in depending whether a separate navigation button has been pressed -
i.e.
navigation buttons:
-motorbike pics
-car pics
-lorry pics
If a user clicked on "car pics" then the loading buttons 1 to 5 would load "car1.jpg", "car2.jpg" and so on...
similarly if the user clicked on "lorry pics", the same loading buttons 1 to 5 would load "lorry1.jpg" and "lorry2.jpg"
How do you press a key (like "L") and go to the next frame?
Which event must I pick?
I assume it's something like: stage.addEventListener(Keyboard., but after that I don't know what to do.
This is for AS 3.0 by the way.
I have some buttons on the frame. I also have an event listener that is waiting for the user to press the Tab key to advance to the next frame. Is there any way, using ActionScript 3, to have the Flash player not recognize the buttons, because when I'm testing it, using the Tab key, it goes through the progression moving from one button to another, and then finally it advances to the next frame where I want it to go directly to the next frame and bypass the buttons. The simplest way is not to have the buttons, but I need them.

i have a set of buttons cranked out from and XML file. how can i emulate, in code, a press on one of those buttons? i'd like to 'press' one of them for an initial state so that the list it controls will load first off instead of waiting for the person to click it manually and THEN show the list it's connected to. thing is, the first loaded list is going to be random, so i need to 'press' what on another day/load would be a button that the user would press themselves.
in other words, i have 3 buttons. on random, i have to 'press', say button 2, to start. users can press 1 or 3 and then 2 again if they like. another time, it's button 1 that gets 'pressed' on load, etc. make sense? i have a sneaking suspicion it might be easy... or stupidly convoluted.

View 3 RepliesI have a question, I am in the process of creating a flash presentation that I have to intergrate a keyPress left and right, but also have a nav system that if you click on the title it will take you to that frame and play it. Here is how I have this layed out... I have set up the main nav as Nav_mc. It contains 20 different titles that have to when pressed gotoAndPlay an animation in the presentation e.i.(areil view, view from 400 etc...)
So, my question is two fold... adding the function to the mc is not a big deal no problem, but I usually use labels when I do this and if I am using a keyPress function Left and Right to go to the the next animation and play it, I am having a little trouble grasping how to set up the key press so that if you pressed it left it would go to the next fram label and play that and vis-versa. so if I do this...

View 3 RepliesI have a flash menu, and I have a little animation that I would like to repeat thoughout the menu. The only problem I have is there is a top layer with a "Stop()" command which prevents the layer to loop. Also if I remove the Stop() then the whole .swf will loop and not just this one layer. Could sombody give me code that will by-pass the Stop() and also have a timer on it that allows the layer to loop in x amount of time.

stage.frameRate = x; ----> It worked, but it applied to all whole scene... intervals -----> I do not understand this.
