ActionScript 3.0 :: When Press "breckenridge" Button It Takes To "breckenridge" Scene And Stops On The First Frame
Mar 2, 2010
Using Actionscript 3 Have a button called "breckenridge". I also have a scene called "breckenridge". On a keyframe is the following code.
[Code]....
When I test the movie and I press the "breckenridge" button it takes me to the "breckenridge" scene and stops on the the first frame. Then I get the following error message
[Code]..
my main timeline, what I am assuming is my first scene called "aspen", stops at frame 300. What gives? Okay, I know everyone hates scenes because it causes navigation problems. However I have this .fla split into sections and I intend to add more stuff to each section in the future. The easiest way I can think to organize these sections with out having a hodge podge of added stuff jumbled on one time line is to break it into scenes.
First off, i just want to say that I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to Flash MX ActionScript.Okay, here here's my situation... have included a menu that will take the user to any of the 10 scenes. Moreover, in each of these 10 scenes, I added a BACK, NEXT, and HOME button for navigation purposes.My problem is this... was at 'Scene 1' and I wanted to jump to 'Scene 7', so I go to my menu and clickedon the button that would take me to 'Scene 7'. Okay...now that I'm at 'Scene 7' I want to go back to 'Scene 1'. BUT THIS TIME I WANT TO USE MY NAVIGATION BUTTONS. So I press the BACK button from 'Scene 7' and it takes me to 'Scene 6'. (I already know why it took me to 'Scene 6' instead of 'Scene 1'.) BUT, I WANTED IT TO GO BACK TO THE LAST SCENE VISITED!
I just created a Flash MX document with 10 scenes.
I have included a menu that will take the user to any of the 10 scenes. Moreover, in each of these 10 scenes, I added a BACK, NEXT, and HOME button for navigation purposes.
My problem is this....
I was at 'Scene 1' and I wanted to jump to 'Scene 7', so I go to my menu and clicked on the button that would take me to 'Scene 7'.
So my question is this...
How do you get FLASH MX to remember which Scene you last visited?
Is there a script that I must add to force it to remember the last scene visited?
I've looked around and found various answers... tried a few, but am still getting an error perhaps i can get an indepth breakdown on why my code isnt working.
first off i have 2 scenes already created. "scene 1" and "scene 2" i want a button in scene 1 to goto and play scene 2 frame 1
here is my code:
ActionScript Code: Multitouch.inputMode = MultitouchInputMode.TOUCH_POINT; // to be used for touch on android startButton.addEventListener(TouchEvent.TOUCH_TAP, ms_touchStart);
I'm getting this error in the OUTPUT window, when I PREVIEW (COMMAND + RETURN) my SWF:
ArgumentError: Error #2109: Frame label nGallery_btn not found in scene Scene 1. at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndStop() at BrookBrovazMusic004_fla::MainTimeline/pageSelect()
- The funny thing is that the SWF works the way I want it to. You can view it here: http://brookbrovaz.com
- I just don't like the idea that something's wrong, according to the OUTPUT window anyway.
I am also having issues with the logo loading a second time when I click a separate button that takes me back to frame 1 with the code that creates the empty movie clip.
I want to make a button that makes you got to a random frame within a certain range (eg frame 41-50) when you press it. I have tried various codes but so far no luck. Im using AS 2 and the button is within a couple of movie clips, but you can still click it when you test
I'm working on a flash content slider thing (i.e. it shows a message and then transitions to the next, and there are buttons at the bottom to navigate to each message). Now I want it to actually stop playing when you navigate to a specific message, instead of continuing to play from there. The problem is there's a fade transition, so I essentially need it to go to the first frame in the transition and play (what it does now), but then STOP once the transition is complete. I don't know how to do this without adding a global stop() to that specific frame, and I don't want to do that because I want it to, by default, rotate from one message to the other.
I have an MC "homeBtn" that I'm using as an animated button. The "homeBtn" is made of 2 mirroring MC's named "topMC" and "bottomMC" since they mirror and function the same I will be addressing only the "topMC" Inside "topMC" is the animation named "liquidMC" These are all MC properties. Below is the AS3 Code. Works well but when the mouse scrolls out the animation is stuck ie stops animating and not going back to frame 1
I am trying to make a light comparison chart where the lights can be turned on inividually by the user and one can be compared to another depending on which of the 6 lights you want to view.So far i have managed to make this work with 5 lights over 33 layers and diffferent buttons and different handlers for each of the buttons on each layer but as soon as the 4 and 5 light come into play everything slows down struggles and sometimes gives up.Is there a simple way of doing this which i am unaware of.I am currently using the gotoandstop comand to go to a specific frame based on the button press.
It's the simplest thing: I have a button. I want to click the button, and go to the next scene frame 1. I made my own button. AS 2.0 was so simple with it's code. I having a very difficult time with the code. I'm an artist, not a code guy.
I need to create a scene or a frame with a button.When I click on the button the Game should start to play.Since I am not able to upload the file please use this below link to access the FLA file.This is What I did: I tried 1 space on the 1st key frame It didnt work.I also made a new scene created a button gave a action-script (go to) It didnt work.
When I created the button (action-script go to next frame or next scene) and modifying the frame number in the action-script on the actual game key frames.This is the Problem I am facing: It doesnt go to the last frame of the game (Last Frame - Click to play again)
My level in action-Script (Beginner- intermediate)
ive made a button in the scene 1 which i have managed to navigate to scene 2 but when i click the button it goes to scene 2 but displays everthing that is in scene 1 in scene 2, how can sort this out so upon the button click in scene 1 it goes to scene 2 and only display content in scene2.
I Want to have a button info_btn. Now i know how to make a button and link it to a scene/frame.
But what im asking is, i want the button to display something (text field or movieclip(doesn't matter )) but I do not want it to go to another scene or frame if you know what i mean ? i want it to display there and then on the same scene and frame with a button to close it.. Is this possible?
I wanted to create a portfolio in flash, so I designed the layout in photoshop, with different webpages in different groups. So groups i created: home, about, porfolio, contact, affiliates, topbar, menu.I use Creative Suite 3 or CS3I then imported the groups into flash as movieclips, using the import to stage function. here is the image of the main scene in the flash. (SEE IMAGE 1st thumbnail)I created a new layer on top of all the layers and used labels at equal intervals to differentiate between pages.here's the image depicting the same.(SEE IMAGE 2nd thumbnail)Now in the home movie clip, i made all the text layers as movie clips to make button animations and assigned sounds and actions to them i.e. rollver, rollout andclick events. here's the swf.(PM ME FOR SWF)I want to know the code or method to load the frame labelled ''about'' in the main scene when i click on the movieclip button 'about' which is in the movieclip 'home'. Here's the code i tried for the first 'about' button, but it returns error "1120: Access of undefined property event."
code: ActionScript Code: var OverSound:roll_over = new roll_over();
My navigation file just doesnt seem to work heres the code: stop(); function navigation(event:MouseEvent):void{ gotoAndStop(event.target.name); trace("button was clicked"); } home_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,navigation); news_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,navigation); about_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,navigation); portfolio_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,navigation); contact_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,navigation);
I have labels home, news, about, portfolio, contact. I keep getting this error ArgumentError: Error #2109: Frame label instance6 not found in scene Scene 1. at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndStop() at whywontyouworkdamyou_fla::MainTimeline/navigation() and my buttons dont work. I am seeing spaces in the word navigation why rofl its ok in edit mode? The Fla [URL].
_level0_root.nextScene(); I'm trying to tell flash when i press this button tell level 0 go to and play next scene. Is this possible.. what's the correct way to do something like this.
ArgumentError: Error #2109: Frame label null not found in scene Scene 1. at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndPlay() at intro_fla::MainTimeline/intro_fla::frame606()[intro_fla.MainTimeline: :frame606:3]
I'm trying break down a large Flash project into smaller swf's using a Loader :
stop(); var reqA:URLRequest = new URLRequest("New_Inro.swf");var loaderA:Loader = new Loader(); function imageLoadedA(event:Event):void { addChild(loaderA);} loaderA.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, imageLoadedA);loaderA.load(reqA);
Some of these swf files are animations which have code that states :
MovieClip(parent).gotoAndStop("frameThree");
The first loader works but I cannot get that swf to move on to the next frame(frameThree) to load the next swf file
Instead I get this message
ArgumentError: Error #2109: Frame label frameThree not found in scene Scene 1. at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndStop() at New_Inro_fla::MainGuy_1/frame146()[New_Inro_fla.MainGuy_1::frame146:2 ]
