I have a project with several banners, each one in a separated scene (banner1, banner2, banner3....).I'd like to play a random banner (scene) when the SWF is loaded.I tried many codes that I've found around the web in the first frame of a bank scene, but nothing worked. I'm using Flash CS5.5 and AS3.

I have an app I'm creating with Flash CS5.5 with 42 different short stories in it. It has 2 scenes. Scene 1 is the opening and contents menu to access the stories. Scene 2 contains the 42 stories.In scene one, I have a button that I want to be able to pick a random story so it would need to pick a random frame between 1 and 42 in scene 2. I have seen some code in here that will pick a random frame when you open the program, but I don't know how to tie it to a button or pick a random frame in another scene.

I have a Flash movie that uses three scenes. In scene one I have a button with some actionscript to take it to a frame label in that first scene and play the movie from that point on. It works fine. The problem is, in the third scene, I am trying the same action with a different button, going to a different frame label in that third scene. I am getting an error saying the frame label does not exist in that scene. Even though it does! I've checked for typos and everything looks fine. I've copied and pasted the simple actionscript from the third scene below. Is there a line I need to add to make this work in a scene that is not the first scene?

I Want to have a button info_btn. Now i know how to make a button and link it to a scene/frame.
But what im asking is, i want the button to display something (text field or movieclip(doesn't matter )) but I do not want it to go to another scene or frame if you know what i mean ? i want it to display there and then on the same scene and frame with a button to close it.. Is this possible?

the trick is.. i want the button to play frame 10 to 40 then after playing from frame 10-40 the movie stops and then play frame 80 to 100
I built a button in one of the movie clips in my project,
when I release this button, it goes to the 41st frame of the main timeline and continue to play until the frame 70 which has got a stop; command. till here everything's just OK. But I want this button to do something more though I don't know whether it's possible or not.
I want this button to go and play the frame number 41 in the main timeline, and then after it stopped at the frame 70 , then jump to frame 73.

The query is this. When i release a button i want the timeline to roll on for x frames (fading components out) before going to the frame that button links to (The beginning of the new page).
I have no idea what AS to use for this.
No matter where in the timeline you are, the button should fade out that area and then skip to a new one.

So groups i created: home, about, porfolio, contact, affiliates, topbar, menu.I use Creative Suite 3 or CS3I then imported the groups into flash as movieclips, using the import to stage function. here is the image of the main scene in the flash. I have an eventListener on a particular movieClip that triggers the timeline to play when clicked. This should play through a short tween, then hit another piece of actionscript in the last frame of that scene, which should take you to the next scene. I also have an audio file loaded into a soundChannel, as well as a few timers that operate a click prompt over the movieClip already mentioned. My bug is that if you click on said movieClip before the soundChannel is finished playing, all functions properly. However, if you wait for the sound to finish, this initiates a few timers that cause a prompt to fade in, telling you to click on the movieClip. If you click on it, still, everything works fine. But once the timers complete their work, and the click prompt fades back out, the tweens do not operate properly. If you then click on the movieClip, the timeline seems to play doubletime until coming to a stop() action in the next scene.
