ActionScript 2.0 :: How To Loop Only One Frame Or Layer
Sep 27, 2011
I have a flash menu, and I have a little animation that I would like to repeat thoughout the menu. The only problem I have is there is a top layer with a "Stop()" command which prevents the layer to loop. Also if I remove the Stop() then the whole .swf will loop and not just this one layer. Could sombody give me code that will by-pass the Stop() and also have a timer on it that allows the layer to loop in x amount of time.
I make a an animation consist of quite many of layers. My animation cannot render nicely because of fps stuffs. I want to some layers to render in slower fps but I cannot find the formula for the past 3 hours..
Here is what I found:
stage.frameRate = x; ----> It worked, but it applied to all whole scene... intervals -----> I do not understand this.
Is there anything I can do to adjust the fps on certain layers?
After learning about classes and stuff, I've successfully create a movieclip with XML reading an all thru the use of classes. My problem is when I move to different frames, the movieclip I made stays there blocking whatever there is in the other frame.
Anyway I can hide all those created movieclips when I got to different frame? Maybe by assigning it to a frame/layer maybe?
Just in case you're wondering, I create the movieclip using the following code:
Code: var header:blogHeader = new blogHeader(); ... this.addChild(header);
This is an if stament on a frame on the root. I want to loop Carrera(a lenghthy movieclip) from frame 2 back to frame 1. (For testing purposes) This is the code:
I'm trying to write an if then statement that will loop back to frame 1 once the next frame it hits is higher than 5. For some reason it doesn't work and I could easily go to frame six and add a go to and play but, I'd like to learn what's wrong instead of doing it the easy way.
I created a multi symbol model character and rigged it with bones. Now when i add a keyframe, some of the symbols (hand, belly) disapear in the new frame. also, some of the symbols return to 100% alpha when they should stay invisible (handles for legs, arms etc.)
I made 3 movies, one of a street, one of the street to the left and one of the right.What I actually want to do is, to play the video of the middle street, stop it after 4 to 5 seconds and put text on where you can see the street left and text on where you can see the street right.
So if you'd click on the text left, the movie needs to play of the left street, the right with the right.
To make motion stops where the text is coming I'll put a jpeg of the end of the movies, that I also use as a pause of the movie.
I know you can make links into html files, but I'd rather have 1 swf file so there is no loading between 2 html files.I tried to use actionscript (however i dont really know any commands ) on text, but it says that the item cannot have a script on it.
How can I find out the frame numbers of the beginning and end of a layer (with content) without actually going there? It would be a lot of work if I manually enter them and have to revise again when frames are different due to content change. Can I get a list of all the frame numbers of the first frames of all the labels in a movie?
i have a button named biografy_btn and that should link to another frame on same layer wich contains other information, i labeled that next frame: biografie
the code is:
stop(); biografie_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, goBiografie); function goBiografie(evt:Event) { this.gotoAndStop(''biografie''); }
but..it does not work, i keep seeing to tekst from frame 1 and the "other info" frame flickering both at same time and the button does not do a thing...
I'm not too acquainted with using loops. If you use a loop in one frame and then leave that frame, does the loop continue? This might be a strange question but I'm having some issues and I think they involve the use of a loop.
I used the liquid Flash layout file from this site , but i got one problem.I placed the script in a layer called actionscript and on frame 1, under it there is a other layer called background. I placed in just a square with a gradient color and made it a movieclip. I also placed this on frame 1. Everything is working perfect from this point but when i want to place a keyframe on frame 10 in the background layer and make a motion tween so that the background fades in from 0 opacity to 100, it doesn't work.
I am doing some research on creating clcikTags. I read a few places that the clcikTag should be on the top layer. That has been fine, but now I want to loop it and I usually put my actions in the top layer. Will this cause a problem? Am I better off just putting my loop action on the last key frame of the clcikTag layer?
Im creating a program that is designed to allow the used to select 3 pictures (movie clips) and print them off on a single peace of paper.
The program works by allowing the user to select 3 graphics (the graphics are actually instructions for various exercises) and then moving the desired movieclips onto the stage. This all happens on a layer named "Content"
So far the program will allow the user to select the movieclips and will move them into place on the Content layer as well as move smaller versions of the pictures into a preview box the only thing it does not do is print. (the most important bit)
Is it possible to create multiple layer masks over a single layer using Actionscript3?Below is the flash effect I wanted to create with masks.First it starts from A and goes to B and C simultaneously.Then from B it goes to H and D simultaneously (the same applies to C).This is how the end result will look like.ps. I need my background to be transparent. I'm embedding it into a web page later.
I can't seem to go to a master edit file that is supposed to show both the body (layer 1) and wing (layer 2) of a flying bird animation. Is there a way to merge these two since I'm planning on shrinking it down and making a lot of birds?He merged the two layers at 14:24 of the video without even explaining how he went to this so called "Edit Master Movie Clip" that seems non-existent on Adobe Flash CS4.
I want to create a simple mask. A white oval on a second layer on top of a bottom layer that just has a word of type. I want the oval to travel from the upper left down to cover up the type. When I create the second layer, create the oval, and choose a distant frame for the "end" of the oval's positioning, my type in the first layer disappears as soon as I press F6 on that second layer. Why? Why is it nuking my first layer?
I have a container MovieClip called Drags where I can drag stamps (other MovieClips)--they are added to the Drags container via addChild. I have a second container MovieClip above that one (display order-wise) call Paint that contains a bmp, and some sprites used for adding a layer of paint.
My question is this: I need to be able to click on the Paint layer when I am above a draggable MovieClip and trigger the MouseEvent for the correct object to drag it around, but the item must always remain below the Paint layer.
I've created a class which simulates an action for example a ball bouncing about a screen thus I'd create it like so:
Code: var Ball1:ball = new ball(x,y);
How would I go about adding this to a loop, in a sense of every frame add another ball till you reach the maximum balls currently after looking in help, google and forums this is all I could find
I'm trying to do a little comic comedy type video in Flash. I've done an outline sketch with the pen tool of my first character, now I want to color it BUT I want to keep the colors and the outline sketch separated on two different layers. Is there a way I can select the path (outline) on layer A and then colorize it with the bucket tool on layer B? The problem I'm having is that every object I select it automatically jumps to that corresponding layer.
One reason why I want to do it this way is I still want to continue working freely on the outline sketch since it's not fully finished, so that I just can blend the colors out and keep working on the outline, at the same time I want to color it while I go just to see where it's going and to make sure that I'm not wasting my time unnecessarily with trying to do a outline just to find out that it won't work out at the end.
how to do a comic type animation, how to create the characters, how to make them move and talk? It can be a free or paid resource.
1. Can i put another set of actions in frame 2 of the actions layer?i tested but it doesn't seem to work..it has 836 rows of code and it's getting annoying when tryin to search for a function..
2. I am not that familiar with classes, i usually put all the code into movieclips or in actions layer.. i am not sure if i can call a function from a actionscript class..
3.I am curios if there is any way i could specify an alternative for the if statement like in this pseudocode:
if ( apple is not clean BUT is tasty) { eat(apple) }
