i have a menu, that is triggered by an .as file, and a xml file. under the xml file i have this:

and under the main fla i have this for frame 5 (frame 1 plays it fine...i have imageLoader instead of loader for frame1) var loader:Loader = new Loader();loader.load(new URLRequest("about.swf"));addChild(loader); i also have a stop after frame 1 script.

I have bought a flash template in which I want to incorporate into another movie but I need to remove the preloader and button control. So in other words as soon as I preview it, it should play automatically without first seeing a preloader or having to click on a button to play the movie.

How can I read image.height and image.width to Main.as from Imageloader.as? I am doing a photo gallery and I want to put a text field to the bottom of every image which heights are not the same. Thus the text field has to relocate every time the image is changed.
I can relocate the textfield when navigating but in the beginning when the gallery comes to the stage the textfield is in above of the first image because image.height is '1' for some reason I can't figure out. The images are in a imagecontainer in the Main.as and I am calling the first image's height like this:

is there any way I can link a button inside a MC on frame1 to a frame inside another MC that is located on another frame.Ive got 2 frames in total. On the first frame Ive got an Mc and inside this one Ive got a button that needs to be linked to frame number 50 which is inside a MC located on frame number 2.

I have successfully created a mock of the FLVPlayback component on frame1 with a button that advances to frame 2 where the FLV actually starts playing. This allows me to use still image MCs and copy that prevents an FLV that is not on autoplay from looking like a blank black screen. [URL]I would also like to have messaging at the end of the video encouraging actions such as attending an event or calling or clicking. Often this would include still images and or a logo. I tried putting the instance of the FLVPlayback in an MC called mcVideo with an extra frame on that MCs timeline that displays the ending art and action copy. But no matter what I try I see nothing but a stopped video at the end of my Flash movie. I keep thinking that after the nested video MC plays if I could only get the timeline to advance to one more frame I could do this. Am I going to have to create a cue point and then have it go to the frame that displays the ending copy?

I'm having trouble using flashamp, I'm ovbiously writing the script in the wrong place I just cant quite get it These are the two errors flashamp teqh support sent me back
- script attached to frame 1 of the main timeline, not the instance of the Controller clip.- duplicate script attached to frame 1 of the Controller clip timeline not the root level instance of the Controller clip.
So I attatched the script to frame1 of the main timeline (this is wrong) but I cant figure how to attatch it to the instance of the controller clip? Then I have to attatch it to the root level instance of the controller clip, and so far I'm somewhat puzzled on how you do this.

I've created a preloader using the following script:
mySWF.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressE vent.PROGRESS, loop);
mySWF.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COM PLETE, done);
Works, but even if the content has been previously downloaded there is still a quick flicker of frame1 of the preloader...is there a way to avoid this (in AS2 you could check, if loaded)? Is there a way to arrange...maybe using an if statement...to avoid the flicker? Basically if the file is available locally bypass frame1 of the preloader and go to frame2?

I am gonna connect two swf file on the same domain. I actually want to connect button1 on swf1 to frame1 on swf2 and then the same like that button2 to frame2... I think localconnection class is usable for that I am open to other ideas, it's very simple I guess but I am novice at this and this is my first job.

I have a scale up and down function that increases or decreases the size of an external loaded image inside a loader. What i am now trying to do and having trouble with is playing certain messages when the scaling reaches a certain point.
For instance when the user uses the 'increaseScale' function and scales 'image_Content' up by 40% its original size then 'warning_msg.visible = true;'
When they increase it by 65% then 'stop_msg.visible = true;'
This will then respond the same way if the user decreases the scale back to 40% and so on.
I cannot work this one out, i have posted the code below and have attached the fla file...

I'm having some problems importing a class, the message that Flash gives me is this; The class being compiled, 'ImageLoader', does not match the class that was imported, '[URL]'. The only line of code in my flash movie is this: import com.martijndevisser.*; And yes, the class is in that folder The class is from here: [URL] I've used the class before and it works fine, I just dont know what to do?

I am trying to make a swf with one FLV playback player and 6 buttons. I've got 6 different videofiles that I want to have linked to this swf. Some of the videos are quit large.When starting the Swf, the first video has to start, after playing it, it has to stop. Then you must be able to choose which video to play by clicking one of the buttons. I don't want to have small thumbnails of the video, just plain and simple buttons.I have to have all my files, both fla, swf and xml files in the same directory (I cannot have them stored in different folders, since I have to upload this to a cms system which has limited upload properties).
I've tried to find the right script on the internet, I'm not very good at scripting myselve, actually rather poor educated there.It seems to me that I have to make an xml file with a list of all my videos, I have my default swf ready, with a FLVplayback and buttons.Now there's just the coding part....

I have created two buttons for separate audio files. Essentially if you click on the button it will play and stop. This works great! I have also injected a SoundMixer.stopAll(); to ensure if you click between both buttons that it will stop the current audio file to play the next one. My problem is when I select the 2nd button for the first time everything seems to be working...it's when I attempt to click on the first button again, that it will require 2 clicks and then it stops and plays accordingly...anyone know how I could eliminate this annoying two click process?

I have five different scenes all including three different buttons. When I test the buttons in "play scene" - all buttons sounds correctly in all scenes. But when I play movie, there is sound only with one button (the same button in every scene). I have looked for differences, but this button seem to have all the same parameters as the others.

I have created myself a new website and I get the following error
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error.
at flash_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()
The website loads ok but if i navigate around and click home again i get:

Here is the code im using, I have set up a few segments of code on different frames in the flash time line but this is the code from the first section, I had more errors but they were relating to my pre-loader which I deleted. I have failed at a few things in my code. Getting multiple images to load into a ui loader, creating a pre loader and making a "fluid" or "liquid" page.

i have once again resorted to asking the pros on how to accomplish something. I am trying to use a UIloader laid up next to itself and use a different image each time. I have also tried to add a roll over too. I have figured out how to use arrays (i have only got one item in my array currently) but cant get them to work within a source file path.

I created flash buttons for a website and imported them into dreamweaver, put the site up and everythings working finee, EXCEPT, the mouse down feature of my button doesn't play all the way unless you hole down the mouse button. My mouse over feature works fine.
