i'm using a custom cellrenderer set the styles of the grid cells (ie. selectedUpSkin, overSkin, etc.)I've also set up some mouse events to set a mouseover flag, however this is cell-specific and only allows me to change the text color in a single cell instead of the entire row as shown here:[code]how can i alternatively change the text color of an entire row of cells?

selected rows (by mouse click) are not highlighted when i click once. but they highlights when i click twice. Maybe i'm not registering correctly the event ?
... and when i remove the event - evryting is work perfect.

I am loading a small scrolling text box dynamically from a .txt doc in the same folder, but I can't find anything about changing the font properties. No matter what changes I make to the code, the font stays size 12, times new roman, black. I want to change all three of these properties, but most of the related forum posts I have found are about changing the font for a given sentence, manually input into the AS. I need flash to list all font in the text file as Arial, 13, and white in color.This is being set up so members of managment can update news without needing flash to do so, so they obviously can't type everything into the AS.

Thing is, after applying a new color theme for my Flash Builder enviroment, the only thing I couldnt find was an option to change the color when you enter in debug mode. When you have a brakpoint there, the color of that line change to light green, and I got dark background and white characters.. so, I dont see anything, I have to manually highlight the line.. really annoying.

have created a scrolling text area in flash CS3 using a dynamic text box with text inside controlled by a couple of buttons using the .scroll property to add to the scroll value on each click of a button.i am wanting to add two new buttons to decrease and increase the font size of the text within the dynamic text area, which i thought should be fairly easy. i found a .size property which could be applied to text, but i do not think i am using it in the right way. here's what i have tried to do (where 'myText' is the instance name of my dynamic text area):

The script yields a nunber into a dynamic text field that I would like to enlarge. In other words, make the font larger. I changed the size of the text field but the font size didn't change.Here's my script:

The font I want to use (let's call it FancyFont) is in the library and does have actionscript linkage. It is exported in Frame 1.

Since I would like to ultimately be able to change the string dynamically, I'm not loading from an external file.

I have a user text input field and a preview button, when they press preview the inputed text appears in a dynamic text field in another part of the window. I need to be able to change the font of the text in the dynamic field using buttons (so the user can see their text displayed in various different fonts which will be embedded into the swf). After watching various different tutorials I hashed together this code for my first button to change the font to Times New Roman which I embedded with the class name timesNew.

When I run the movie everything works fine and the console shows no errors but when I press the button to change the font the text in the dynamic field simply disappears.
When I set up 3 input text fields, I allow the user to change the font and size of those fields. If the user selects each one with the mouse and modifys them then no problems are seen. But if the user first changes the size and font of text field 2, then tabs to that text field and starts to change the text. The font and size properties revert back to the default.

I could re-apply the formating everytime the text field changes, but that seems like a bandaid to the problem.

On each keyframe, I made sure to name it introPhoto_mc.Now, before the movieclip first appears, I would like to change its content (just a picture change, dynamically loaded with loadMovie). I bought a text scroller flash file and am now trying to tailor it to my needs.URL...It is composed of several movieclips which link to the an external text file. The external file starts off with this mytext= <font color="#000000" size="7">BACKGROUND</font> This file determines the size and color of the font but does not define the actual font itself, it also contains the content. There is a movieclip within the flash file where you can denote a device font or embed a font from the properties panel.Starting off I simply picked my font from the properties panel and used "anti-alias for animation". This seemed to work fine on the Flash preview and also once published online. However, once I used another computer to view my site the font changed and reverted to a default. This leads me to believe the font is linked to each computers font library. I am wondering if there is a way to override this and to link the font to a place on my server?I also tried to embed my font via the properties panel but it looks warped and unrecognizable, so thats out. Unless there is another way to embed fonts at stays true to the font? To add more fuel to the fire, the font I have to use is not html safe "Gotham" to be exact.URL,,,

View 2 RepliesI created a movie clip which loops some text, i would like to populate the stage with instances of it but also with some in a different colour. When I copy frames from my clip and paste them into a new symbol(movie clip) the colour of the other instances changes as well.
View 1 RepliesFor the first stage, I was able to build a walk-through demo in flash pro by creating buttons that when clicked caused the flash to change to different frames. easy enough. Now for the final part of this project, I need to make the interface fully interactive, as I was trying before. ie: you can click any button and lights go on and off or a loop counter increments, etc. Since there is logic involved and too many permutations to do a frame for each possible state, I'm back to trying to do this in an object oriented way. I've got some test code here.

debugger has some errors, so i don't know what exactly it will do. the errors are at the last two if statements where i'm trying to change the object property setting of the label. there is another error at the last curly bracket.
the idea is that there are two labels and a button. the first label starts out visible. when the button is clicked, a counter is checked, and incremented, then the counter is again checked and the appropriate label has it's visible property set to true. the intent is that in a list of several labels, pressing the button scrolls down them, until you press while on the last, which resets the counter and the first label becomes the visible one.
