ActionScript 3.0 :: Chasing Hero Game Character As A Square And The Enemies Are Circles At The Moment

i am making a game and i have my main character as a square and the enemies are circles at the moment. i have just made the circles home in on the main character, but my problem is when the enemies come inline with the x or y coordinates of my character they start vibrating/shaking. im not sure how to fix this. i have included my fla so you can easily see whats going wrong.

I'm making a platform game. The hero can move around, but the enemies are stationary. My problem is that I want the enemies to face the hero. The first enemy behaves correctly, but the subsequent enemies only behave correctly if I kill all the preceding enemies. I have added the hero and the enemies as Objects and put the enemies into an array called enemies. Both the hero and enemy objects have a direction property and an mc property that refers to their movie clips. This for loop gets called every frame.

I am really new with flash and yet I needed to construct a simple one level game. What I have now is kinda similar to pacman but a bit different.
1) Lets say, like pacman, the user's character need to pick up things in the maze. but instead of the items are already there, i would like to have some already there and then when the user pass the path, some will randomly appear in the maze. e.g : like the fruits that will randomly appear in pacman.
2) How to make the bad character constantly chase the user's character throughout the game. only one bad character in this game chasing.

I'm planning to make a multiplayer hero-based RTS game, similar to the gameplay of DotA/HoN/LoL. With about 10~ players max at once in a game. The latency and responsetime is key, trying to get as low ping as possible.And last but not least - I don't want to use any 3rd party solutions, such as smartfox server or any of the likes of it.So, with that said, what is the way to go if I'm going to build this properly? Java socket server? Python? Let me know what you think and please share resources since i haven't done anything similar before.

we just recently defended our graduation project which is a platform game like mario. one of the modifications suggested by our panelists is to make level 1 generate random places for enemies and coins after one of them said that mario was a stupid game because you already know where the enemies are, the powerups, etc. i said i'll give it a go and see what i can do. but recently i realized that i havent played any platform game that generates random places for the enemies, coins and other objects. it is only in rpg games like ragnarok that i have seen enemies spawning at random places.

I've been working on a uni project. Basically, enemies are placed on the screen using a timer variable and using the attachMovie to put them on the screen. This is an example of the code I'm using:

This works and places them on the screen, (and into the array) but by putting them into the array, I thought that each one would be a unique instance of the movieclip which doesn't always seem to be the case. If I shoot one of the enemies, sometimes another enemy will explode (or both of them) and other times I will knock into one enemy and another one will be the one who get's knocked.
For my collision code I'm using this:

The explosion code also uses a similar for loop. Should I look at another method to place unique instances of the enemies on the screen?

Below is simplified version of a game I am creating. Basically, the game have some circles. Each circle shoot bullets that is dispatched with timerEvent. When the circle is clicked it is removed from the stage. However, the bullet still keeps on dispatching. I couldn't figure out how to stop timerEvent of each individual circle when it is clicked.

It's about the "Game Character Dialogues", It is used to instruct the user what to do, like what you see in BookWorm or Diner DAsh.I used dynamic text fields to generate these dialogues,but as I continued doing it. I found myself stuck.I have no idea on how to change the words when the "next" button is clicked. there will be no previous button. but the dialogue will replay when the character is clicked.

I am using a .flv player. When I run it in my localhost then it runs properly, but after uploaded on the my dedicated server and let it run in my browser, only the menu apears and de video itself is missing..
It all worked a few days earlyer -so why did it disapear?
I used Flash CS3 and actionscript 2.0 It's compleaty in Dutch.. I didn't make the asignments -don't flame me. I know it's low-tech.

I am making a platformer and i got two problems with the hero.The hero is controlled with the following script.

1. I can't seem to figure out how to set the "hero" movieclip to the frame named "nothing" when none of the keys that control the hero are pressed. (so the hero is doing nothing). When the hero stands still, it will still appear like he is walking or jumping (whatever has been done last)How do i tell Flash that something must happen when none of a certain group of keys are pressed?
2.When you jump, the "jump" frame of the hero is shown. But as soon as you move right or left while jumping, the "right" or "left" walk frames are shown. How do i tell flash to not show the "right" or "left" frames after pressing the jump key until the hero lands back on the ground? The instance of the ground is "ground".

I'm trying to create a game where circles appear on the stage and when the user clicks on one it disappears and their score is updated. The circles appear for a short time then dissapear. If they dissapear before the user clicks the user looses points. The game is to last 20 seconds then the user will be shown their score and a little thanks for player message. This is what I have so far:

how to randomly animate circles moving around inside a bigger circles? the small circles will have a collision effect on each other and on rollover of each individual circle, the name of it will come out in the bottom.. so the big circle will act as a wall preventing them from coming out..

What is the best way to set up a game where I can customize my character? I want to be able to let the user select the clothes, skin color, hair style, etc, and then run a preset animation with that character in it, but am unsure how to set this up in Flash other than building a bunch of buttons with all of the possible options (too time consuming and I bet there's a better way).

I'm sorry if this is the wrong section. But I'm looking for help with my actionscript coding. I'm fairly new to Flash. I've only scripted some simple websites so far and this is the first time I try to make a flash game. I started yesterday but I'm already having problems with my script.
I have a scene with 2 layers: one with my character and one with the bounds (ground, ceiling and walls).
Inside my character movie clip, I have this: Which is basically a bunch of frames labeled and with the action to stop();. Each one containing another movie clip with the respective animations. So the idea was, when I press "A", jump to "walk left". And it kinda worked, but I have some problems and I'm not really sure how to solve them.

I want to make a fighting game with my own character skins and those of my friends as a fun thing.I'd like it to have an intro, menu, character select, level select. I'd like the levels to be able to scroll and for the characters to have health metres. I have this game, and some levels have a moving square as the player, you move the square with your arrow keys.... I want to have an enemy square that chases the player square.... They only chased mario when you didn't look at them? Kinda like that...... but in this regards:
I only want the enemy square to chase the player square when the player square moves.... soo say the player square moves 5 pixels per movement (know how to do all that), I want the enemy square to move when the player square moves..... towards the player square at like 7 pixels per movement..... so eventually you won't be able to avoid the enemy square....

I'm trying to create a chasing reflection and a circular logo in flash, after effects or whatever!!! Do you know how to do this? It's more like if you had a chrome circular ring in your palm and as the sun hits it, the glare/shine would run around the edges of the logo, does this make any sense?
