ActionScript 3.0 :: Create An Audio That Only Uses The First Entry In A Xml File?

I am trying to create an audio that only uses the first entry in an xml file. I have most of the things working but I keep getting an error related to the audio file.
TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert "http://rivervalleychurch.net/sermonaudio/Podcast/06_Jesus_Save_Your_Church_First_Love.mp3" to flash.net.URLRequest.
at latestMessage_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()
I inserted the url for the file into error message so you can see if there is s problem with that. I was initially trying to use a variable to hold the url for me, because this xml file gets updated every week and I only want to access the most recent entry.
This is my first attempt at making an audio player in flash, so I am sure I have made a simple mistake, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what it is.
Here is the code I have so far: (Please Try not to Laugh, at least not out loud)

One last question is in regards to using id3 tags versus xml tags to fill dynamic text fields in the player. Currently I am using the xml file to do this, are there any advantages one way or the other for this. The only reason I ask is that I am hoping to display an "album art" image from the id3 tag in the player. Would it be better to grab all of the information from the mp3 file?

I have a database all set up and working between flash and SQL .The set up allows me to add entries and receive data.. all this works great..The only problem I'm having is that when I want to update the score when clicking on a button..I can only send or receive data, and what I actually want to do is overwrite the current entry with a new entry to update the score..

I'm wondering if there's any way that i load an audio file and then create an equalizer like one that you can see in an usual application for edditing sounds. I found one method in Actionscript, [URL], but this only returns a value for the current moment of a sound, and i need, to create for the whole song.

I have got three screenshots below of Flash-based audio players on various websites that draw a waveform of the clip it is going to play and moves along while it is playing and also allowing the user to click on a point on the audio file and it jumps to that point.I have very little Flash knowledge but is this easy to achieve? I would like to just show the Flash file an mp3 and it draws the waveform. I understand this could be quite intensive on CPU so would there be a way of caching the waveform data so it doesn't redraw each time the file is loaded?

I'm looking for a (free) flash player that I can embed in my site and use to play a .m4a (.mp4 with AAC audio) file that will be obtained using a URL (i.e. it's not local to the server hosting the web page).I've tried searching on google for one, but either I'm searching wrong or no one has made such a thing. Ideally this would be very simple (small user interface with play button and maybe a progress bar) and it would be easy to have multiple instances of on an html page (can create the player with an <object> tag).

I have AS3 project, made with FlashBuilder. I'm using MovieClips from an external .SWC-file. In a MovieClip from the .SWF-file, I want to use an audio-file. Is it possible to preload a sound-file (e.g. .MP3) in my FlashBuilder project, and access it in a MovieClip inside the .SWC?

What is an expected way to create audio chatrooms? Either try to mix all published audio streams into single one and republish it under common name? Or just inform all clients about each other and allow each one to connect to a stream, published by each other?
Do I need to write custom webapplication with my own scripts in it, or this is some default functionality?

I know how to use AS3 to record sound from the user and enable them to save it to their computer. However, I would really like instead to allow them to either send it to an email address right after recording (without them having to save it to their computer first and find the file), OR to let them save it so that the site owner can access it (They would know that it was happening.).

I'm using ffmpeg on Windows to create mp4 files for web distribution. As libfaac isn't available, I use libmp3lame to encode the audio tracks. The mp4 are played back with a falsh player (JWPlayer).I was wondering if there were any shortcomings to use mp3 instead of aac on certain devices?

I want to create a flash application where users will have access to 10, 5 seconds audio loops. They can choose any 4 tracks to make a 20 second track. I then want that mp3 to be stored somewhere or flash to create to a file which can be sent to friends in facebook where they can listen to that beat. I need to find the new item in a new set that is not in an existing set. here is an example:
// current set
{file, file, file, file, file}
// new set
{file, file, file, file, file, file}
- The current set contains a list of file objects (for example)
- The new set contains another set of file objects, however it contains most of the same files in the current set, but now includes a brand new file.The new file in the new set needs to be pushed onto the current set.
Restrictions:
- The new set cannot replace the current set, only the new file can be appended.
- The files cannot be directly compared because each file in the new set that references the same file as a reference in the current set is not the same instance. Therefore they need to be compared by property, in this case, teh file name.I have the general work out of the algorithm:

3. Show data of what previous students entered by evoking studentlist
Frame 2:
3. Current user enter other details, then movie loops back to Frame 1..
How do i store the a list of all students who entered their names in studentlist?

I need to limit form data entry to once a day. I have created a login and a PHP script that writes variables to a txt file. However, I want to limit the users ability to enter data to the server date, so that they can only enter in data once per day. For example, a poll that allows a user base to vote once per day. I need to do it using Actionscript, PHP, CGI, or javascript.

I find myself inbetween the AS2 and AS3 world with this project. I added an audio file in a project which is a narrated presentation. If I play the timeline the audio plays but when I stop the playhead the audio continues to play. To tell you the truth I could not even remember having to do this in AS2 not alone in AS3. I have the audio preferences set to specch to make the file smaller, have the frame rae up to 30 frames per second as I'm using FlashEff for text and movieclip effects.
Is there away to be able to stop the audio so i can see and hear where I am when I start dropping the text and pics in the project?

A quick question. Is it possible to play a mp4 video file with 2 audio tracks in it and switch between the two audio tracks? In stead of subtitles we want to provide the user with audio in their own language. As a test I received a mp4 video file with 2 audio tracks, an English and a German. When I load and play the mp4 video file I default hear the English audio track. Is it possible to switch to the German audio track?

I am not familiar with flash, and I would like to change an audio file from an annoying noise to a silent (aka, blank) file. Before you ask "why use it at all" - It is used for an online chat client, and invokes a Jquery error if the file is not present. The current file. It would be outstanding if someone could whip-up an error.swf file that is silent.
