ActionScript 3.0 :: Displaying Swf - Embed Into Html?

I have several swf's and I can embed them within html without problem. However, one swf is causing me problems. This swf has an animation on the stage as a preloader. The rest of the swf is then completely run through an external as3 class. The as3 class loads an xml file and prepares the images. When its complete, it removes the loader removeChild(preloader); (the original animation which was displaying). If I run the swf on my computer, everything works great. As soon as I embed it, all that happens is the preloader animation constantly plays, and it never gets to the point to display the images. Is there something I need to do when I embed this swf into html to get it to work properly?

UPDATE 2010-05-14: If I'm not mistaken HD.se uses Flowplayer and all those flasvars are for that. Perhaps someone here is good with Flowplayer? I've never used it myself.

How to dynamically add wmode="opaque" to already displaying embed elements? Without reloading the elements, the embedded content should not lose its state.
Just setting the wmode attribute with javascript doesn't work.
Removing the element and then adding it again makes wmode take effect, but the flash element loses its state, among other problems. E.g if it's a video player its position/playback status resets. So that solution is no good.
Any other way of displaying content over the embedded element is acceptable as well.
(I'm doing this trough a content script in a Chrome extension if that is of any help.)
This is not a duplicated of How to dynamically add wmode=transparent to Youtube embed code? as there the parameter is added to a frame and not directly to the element it self.

I'm trying to place html elements over a flash video which must be rendered with wmode="direct" (video occupies entire window with html UI to be laid over it, anything other than direct makes CPU usage surge).
I've tried using an iframe to include the flash video, but I'm still unable to place any elements over it. Is there a workaround to achieve this?

I can see it on my computer in internet explorer just fine (I must have installed something that is needed, or set up IE in some way, I guess).. but its not working on quite a few other computers I've tested it on - this is what they see:
Either a message of something that needs to be installed should be shown to the user, or something in the code itself..

I'm loading text into a text field from an XML file. I'm creating a very simple CMS for someone's website and, if they put in a link I want it to show up on the site. I remember, years ago, being able to simply display XML as HTML, so when inserting.
HTML Code:
<a href="#">A Link</a>
into mytextfield.text, an html-esque link would actually show up in the .swf. Of course now I can't find it anywhere.

How would one go about diplaying text from the html file within which the swf movie is embedded?
Basically i have a rotating banner on a page (jquery isn't right for this one) and wish to have the text messages within the diferent slides of the animation load from the html page.
this is a requirement from upstairs for SEO reasons.

I have a window on my Flash stage that has some scrollable copy in it. The problem is, I can't seem to have any formatting for the text ... if I select a word or two to make bold, it all turns bold. I gather I need to use the "Display Text as HTML" checkbox and then paste in some HTML formatted text but this doesn't seem to work. I searched this forum and found that others were designating "htmlText" in Actionscript instead of just "text" ... that didn't work either. I probably just did it wrong, or maybe it's becuase I'm using the UI component "UIscrollBar" for it's scrolling of the text.
Is there anything else I need to do to be able to format some text with strong tags and maybe some href links?
I have my properties inspector with the following check marks:

Multiline
Dynamic Text

I'm getting nothing with this:

Maybe it has something to do with the quotes? the text will be retrieved from a database.I dont see what I am doing wrong
I think it's the way I calculate the number of lines in the string... How would I calculate the amount of lines using rich text?

The site I'm making uses a tabbed navigation and MooTools to fade the pages in and out. One of the pages has a Flash player embedded on it, and all of the others consist of pure HTML. The problem occurs on the HTML pages -- somehow the Flash player is causing the HTML pages to display oddly. Vertical borders and text will be jagged in the same locations of the top and bottom of the player.!

I'm trying to display htmltext from xml file in my dynamic text field.I used: dynamic_ txt. htmltext=textFromXML;I embedded the fonts Latin 1, Latin Extended A, because I want to display characters like "�", "�", " is space and it displays correctly, but "¡" which is "�" displayes "¡" so that does not work.

I have a big flash application and I want to display a HTML page inside. (it needs to work in IE 6/7/8, FF 3.x). I've tried setting wmode to opaque or transparent. This does not work, flash has a bug with textfields. And there are lots of other bugs, for example: [URL]. Is it possible with some tricky IFrames?

I'm very new to Flash and most of the other Adobe Utilities. I'm trying to create a SWF file that I can embed in a web page. I've created a file by importing a .flv, then exporting it to create the swf. When I embed it in my web page (on an external server), I get nothing displayed using Internet Explorer. When I tried using Firefox, I get a message that basically tells me it can't find the FLV file. The reason seems to be that the SWF file is looking for the FLV on my local disk(where I imported it from in the first place). It obviously is not going to find that file on the web server. So... I need to address this in one of two ways[code]...

So I do the usual html publish to copy the code and there's no < embed > tag in the code... only the usual < object > with it's params.
So I mess around with the options of the html publish dialog and no luck, still exports without the embed tag.
So I think.. "hmm that must be a problem with the template of flash cs5" and I go to dreamweaver cs5 and try the insert media > swf option... and still no < embed > !
Did something change in the world where we don't need anymore the embed tag?

I am trying to display am image within flash using CS3.
I have a text field with the following code.
feedback.htmlText = "<img src='Logo_small.png'</img>"
nothing displays. The image and flash document are at the same level, so that is why I am using a relative link. Do I need to use a full (absolute) link to the image?

I'm trying to embed my flash player on my Soundclick soundclick page, but it just doesnt appear. A blank white space appears where it should be, and when you right click it says "Movie not loaded...". I'm using the below embed script which works FINE wherever else I use it but just not soundclick, and i've embedded stuff on there before with success.[code]...

I finally tried validating my website at W3C, and naturally I got 300 or so errors
As I'm knocking them out, I noticed a lot of these are from the flash embeds. Currently I'm using the traditional method[code]...
Turns out even though it still works, the <embed> tags are no longer necessary and consequently will not validate.
Tried searching around but all I could find were some pretty vague tutorials and looking at sources is nothing short of Greek at this point.
Can I get an example or two of how to properly "embed" an swf?
