Jun 16, 2010I recently bought a new machine and tried to put my Flash 8 software onto it. The serial number was fine, but it requested the serial number of the software I upgraded from, which I no longer have (MX, I think it was. I threw it out ages ago thinking I didn't need it ). I can't even remember what email address my macromedia/adobe account was under, it might even be under an email address for a domain I no longer have.
I do still have the software installed on my old PC. Is there anyway I can find out the serial number of the MX I upgraded from off of the Flash 8 on there? Or it is a lost cause?

Jun 25, 2010I recently purchased a macbook pro from eBay which had Flash CS4 already installed on it, but which didn't come with the original documentation or CDs that would have had the serial number. The seller said he would send along the appropriate numbers when he tracked them down, but he never got back to me again. I'd like to upgrade to Flash CS5 now, so is there any way I can find the serial number through the software itself? I've seen similar threads to this one elsewhere in the forums and the most promising answers have involved people locating truncated numbers in the software and asking Adobe to decrypt them. Unfortunately, I can't even find these truncated numbers...

Jul 24, 2009In a project that I'm working on, I have to be able to read input data from a serial port. The input data will be very simplistic in nature. I'm guessing more like a on/off, yes/no, true/false style of operation.I have found some examples in other languages, but nothing in AS3 or AS2. Could anyone send any sample code or a link to a tutorial that gives me some lead way on this? Which approach is better, going with a Flash projector piece, or building it in AIR? The final piece will be on a PC based system.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Move The Disc Object By Selecting The Spinners?
Jan 12, 2009I am trying to move the disc object by selecting the spinners on its edges with the mouse. Meaning if i touch the spinner i should be able to rotate it enough to see the green ball to your front.
I can do it with buttons but i am sure can be done the other method which i would like to do it which is by mouse selection. Can anyone help me with this.
Ex: so i should be able to press onto the spinner and then drag it up or down or in rotation basicaly forcing the disc to do as the spinner bids.

Nov 21, 2009I've created a small music player with a sliding volume control. I'm having trouble with the volume. Though it does control volume properly, if I set the initial volume to less than 100%, the volume always starts at 100% until I move my mouse over the player. At that point, the volume changes to whatever the initial volume is set to.Is this a flash bug, or am I missing something? Here is the affected code (code for other buttons/functions omitted for brevity):

I'd like to be able to set the volume at say 50%, but the above mentioned behavior happens each time.
Flash :: Reverse Sound Volume Math For Volume Slider?
Feb 1, 2010I'm building a video player and am kinda stuck at the volume slider part. It's a YouTube style vertical slider, meaning if the slider is in the top position volume should be 100% and if the slider is dragged to the bottom position sound should be 0. Currently it's doing the opposite of what I want :(
Dragging the slider down will make the sound louder, while dragging up lowers it.
Here is my code below dealing with the volume slider.

The (-4) is an offset value so when you drag it all the way to turn it off, it's 0 and not 4. I need to reverse this somehow, so the traces above will swap... going down will make userVolume = 4 and going up will make it 30.

which might allow flash developers to make money on such a pointless project. eg. sell games, as a (.exe, or a .app) file, or make then buy a serial online an play it online. or sell very useful programs, for real money, and don't have to worry about people using it for free.

Apr 12, 2012I've got a serious of games which in turn load off a main main swf.I have mute and unmute buttons on the main menu and the same buttons in each game.When I unload/load a game I want the volume to stay as it is so they player doesn't have to keep turning the volume off. AudioOff is the button shown when the volume is off and AudioOn is the button shown when the volume is on.The code I've got now keeps the volume on or off through the games but the buttons aren't showing up correct with this code..

ActionScript 2.0 :: Volume Slides But No Volume Change?
Sep 10, 2011I converted the slider bar and slider button to buttons. Then, I made the slider button into a movie clip.
Here is the code I placed while slider button was a button:

It seems right to me but I don't know. The movie button slides down the slider bar but it just doesn't affect the volume. Going to try to attach my FLA to offer better insight. Just tried to upload it and no matter if it's FLA or zipped FLA, it says it failed.
