Mar 8, 2010create a draggable interactive map using CS3 and using actionscript 2.1. We are creating an application for a touch screen device and we must provide a draggable map which contains 'hotspots' which when clicked provide additional information (text and pictures).
I need clickable buttons that stay in the same relative position over the map so that when it is dragged the buttons move with the map. (sorry if that sounds confusing) At present I can only get a static button working which stays in the same position and the map moves independently.

Flash :: Using The Pen Tool - Line Automatically Connects Between The Two Points In A Straight Line
Jul 3, 2009I'm in the process of teaching myself the components of the CS4 Design Premium package using the Adobe Classroom in a Book series. I'm currently going through the Flash CIAB and i've started using the pen tool. The task involves creating a wave like design across the stage. Whilst this in itself is simple, the final instruction is to click on the first anchor point to close the shape. In the illustration, the closed shape seems to automatically extend around the stage, however when I click on the first anchor point, the line automatically connects between the two points in a straight line.
Am I doing something wrong? The next step is to fill this area, but with the straight line effect that I am getting, this becomes impossible. I should point out that the instruction states that the pen tool line should extend off the stage. I have done this, but even then on clicking on the first anchor point the shape is closed incorrectly.

What i'm trying to do is the following:
I have 3 boxes (b1, b2 and b3).I want to draw a line, starting on b1 and ending in b2. After that i want to draw another line connecting b2 to b3.
The goal is to give the effect of lines growing between the boxes.
Is this simple? And what frame per second value do you recommend?

I suspect that this isn't really possible. Can anyone confirm that? EDIT: A couple of the answers pointed out that using Flash for command line work probably isn't the best choice. I wholeheartedly agree in most situations. The reason I am asking about this is because I want to do some AS3 code generation, and reflecting on AS3 classes within the runtime would be easier than parsing the code or walking the intermediary XML that asdoc produces. I'm doing the XML approach now in Ruby, but would love to have a cleaner solution!
