Jan 28, 2011this is the first time I have used flash pro.I just edited the menu and everything works perfectly except for the highlighting of the link on the current page. If im on the home page, home is correctly highlighted. However after that it skips the next button (about). So when I am on the about page the next button (events) is highlighted.

May 9, 2008I am trying to figure out how to make buttons on my flash file link to URLs that appear in a window of fixed dimensions (with scroller bars) next to my Flash window. I am aware that Adobe has instructions for creating pop-up browser windows through Flash [URL]. However, what I'm trying to do is a bit more complicated, since I want to have multiple embedded invisible buttons in the Flash window that each take you to a specific URL when you click on them. Alternatively I'd be happy if any button click resulted in a link to a random selection from a pre-programmed list of URLs. This is for ActionScript 3.

Oct 11, 2011After moving from Windows XP to Windows 7 noticed this behavior in my Flex application. In IE8 when a user clicks on a link in the SWF file it uses the navigateToUrl api to open a new window pointing to an external site. This works as expected in XP on IE8 . However in Windows 7 clicking the link will open a new tab, this new tab however sits in the background therefore it is possible that it may not be noticed by the user. Also the content in this background tab does not always load fully unless you clear the cache. Has anyone come across this issue with Flex and Windows7/IE8? In the navigateToUrl function i pass in a param of _blank.

May 7, 2009I have a dynamic text field which loads html. In the html there are links at various points. In the file I am using a custom cursor whenever the mouse is over the swf. The issue is that despite my setting Mouse.hide(), in Windows (FF and IE) the standard hand cursor shows over the top of my custom cursor when I hover over one of the links.
I know that the htmlText field only supports CSS1, so using any reference to the mouse in the CSS is futile. Additionally, due to the nature of the html going into the text field, I can never rightly guess where a link would physically be to set up some sort of work around. In all of my research, the only references to the problem refer to the Mac FF and Safari having bugs that prevent the hand cursor from being shown (to me this is counter intuitive, it seems that when Mouse.hide() is enacted that none of the system cursors should show, no?).

Feb 23, 2011I'm running ant to compile a Flex application, and the build keeps failing when running it on a windows command line. Other people in my team can successfully run the very same build under mac and linux. This is the error shown in the command prompt:

All tokens are set in corresponding build.properties and filter .properties files (and, as I said before, it compiles perfectly under mac and linux). The windows version is 7 Ultimate, FLEX_HOME is set as an environment variable to the Flex SDK 3.5 (the 3.5.0.12683 build that comes with Adobe Flash Builder Burrito). ${compiler.fork} is set to false, to avoid an issue with the SDK and the source files being in different logic drives.

I am familiar with flex and am hoping that i be able to use it for the application. But i can not figure out a way to play the file in flex. I have been able to play the file only in windows media player and that required the installation of three codecs : Mp4Audio.ax, Mp4Video.ax, Mp4Src.ax.
As i see it, it will be very convenient if i could embed a windows media player plugin in flex or i could specify the audio and video codecs in the flash player

I know I can create both projector formats for windows and mac using the export feature in Flash Professional. Jan 12, 2010I am working on a short animated story, which has a scrubbable timeline and chapter headings. I used TimelineMax for sequencing it. For the most part, it is working fine. I am seeing some strange behavior that pop up, though: sprites disappear, functions stop responding to user input, seams of the sprites become transparent -- all small issues but pretty hard to nail down because they happen in Mac only.
So I am wondering what is wrong with Flash, and why it misbehaves on a Mac?

When we use NetConnection in combination with a NetGroup to initiate communication between two local AIR applications on Windows XP, they always both connect to the NetGroup succesfully and detect each other as neighbors. These applications can connect and send message to each other without a problem on Windows XP. On Windows 7 however, they cannot.Does anyone know why this wouldn't work on Windows 7 and what steps can be taken to make it work? It's critical to our project that this works.In some cases, the applications take quite a long time to detect each other as neighbors (up to 15 seconds in some cases), in other cases they detect each other immediately. The page is for wedding videography, and came with a Videos section. However, I do not like the template video player, and would like to have the Videos link on the menu bar go straight to my youtube channel rather than to the flash player. Primarily all changes to the template have been made in a text.txt file, rather than the flash file itself.
