ActionScript 3.0 :: Make 2 Different Buttons Open Same Movieclip Separately?

I got a website that has different buttons that each open a different movieclip (a window with content).
But some buttons will have to open the same movieclip as the other button...
So, to make it bit better to understand than my weird explanation above:

What is the code to make a movie clip button....when pressed...open or plays another movieclip...example.i have a button..and its a movie clip with roll over and rollout effect..once pressed...how do i make it link to an outside movieclip.
I'm using the new 3D tool in flash to let pictures rotate around there center. To not let it look distorted I will have to adjust the vanishing points for these images separately, however I can't find an option to control them separately. The seem linked for all my 3D movieclips. This will result in having only 1 moviclip animated right. So the question is: how do I control the vanishing points for each movieclip separately?
if you open up the TEST.swf you can see how I want my transition to look like.. everything works perfectly.. then if you open the Load.swf and click one of those red buttons.. it loads up the external swf.. but if you click another button it loads up the same external thing.the difference between Load.swf and TEST.swf is that in Load.swf is container in which the TEST.swf is loaded..
I am trying to create an effect that when someone clicks a button it opens a movieclip. I want everything behind that movieclip to get dark so that the only option is to click on a button in the open movieclip.

I'm just picking up flash and I am trying to make a new menu of buttons in the template and I will be changing the menu that is already there, but it isn't using conventional menu coding. This is the piece of code I am trying to use for my button to lead to a different movie clip to a different frame than the one the buttons are sitting in, a separate movie clip.
Of course there are more buttons, this is just one. Customhomes is the frame label, customhms_btn is the instance name. It tells me that customhms_btn is not defined. I have this code sitting in the movie clip that the buttons are in by itself in the first layer.
I am creating a navigation bar in Flash (which will then be used in Dreamweaver). When you mouse over each topic in menu (ex. Products), i want it play a movie clip (so it shoots out a sub-menu underneath). so far so good, but the only thing is, the sub-menu won't stay open in order for me to click on buttons in it. For each button, I assigned it the Behavior to go to a url. Also, I tested the buttons within the mc and they don't seem to direct me to url. do you think maybe it's because it's nested within the movie clip?? Is there an easier way to go about this?
I am trying to make an index page with buttons for a photography site.the entire page is built in flash so far. I have created a drop down menu that is a Movieclip with 5 buttons.I can not seem to assign an external web page to each buttons that are under the movie clip drop down menu. Is this a possible? The Movie clip is run by mouse-over the word "studio Gallery" button. This drops down the 5 gallerbuttons (Portrait, children, wedding, Artistic Babies, etc...). In Flash 8 Pro I know I can assign an external web page named children on the main page but how do I assign these to the buttons in the drop down once the movieclip is made. Is this where I need to use folders with extra layers in the folder to make it work?
it is possible to make a movieClip that containes some buttons, input/dynamic text area, but the action script to be taken from an external actionscript file (.as)?I ask this because i have some buttons that calles me movieClips who have actionscript applyed in them, i see that i have some error's because of the actionscript (the .swf file blockes at one moment, and i don't know why ) and i want to call the actionscript file (.as) to button when i press one button that displays me the movieClip attach to him.
I have recently followed a tutorial to make a movieclip in flash that makes buttons spin around a point depending on the mouse position. I have made my own version off this and would like to use it in a full flash website that i am making at the moment.
The only problem that i am having is with aligning this clip and as it is made up of script i cant physicly drag it to were i want it. I understand how to alighn this with x/y positioning but when i preview the flash in a web browser it is positioned correctly but then when i 'full screen' the browser this clip jumps about 4 inches down the page.
I am a super noob at actionscript. And I want my button to open a movieclip and then close the movieclip when clicked on again. I have no idea what to add after that here is the code I have for the button so far.....this button opens it.

and this is another button I made that can close it, but I want it to be in the same button rather than seperate.
I was just wondering how when you assign a link to a button, instead of it opening that link in the same window, how can i get it to open it in a new one.
Have an issue with several buttons in cs3. I want the buttons to open the page in the same window, and they will once, but I need this to be a reoccuring effect. here is the code.
I have a movie clip with 15 frames. Each frame has buttons on it (mc's)... I was going to put the actions on the main timeline/stage and navigate within the MC from the main timeline. Is that possible? I can get the buttons on the first frame of the MC to work, but I can't seem to figure out how to target/make the buttons on the other frames work? I was thinking I could identify the path of the MC with the frame labels, but that doesn't seem to work. like: _root.RMChanger.(frame label).buttonOnFrame = function
I have to move a text box in and out over the MC backgrounds on the main stage... which is why I was thinking to do it this way? I've been switching back and forth bwtween AS2.0 and 3.0
I'm trying to make a menu that has onRelease buttons on top of onRollover buttons (the onReleases are on a separate layer from the onRollovers). The onRelease buttons take the user to different urls, and the onRollover buttons are supposed to allow different parts of the menu to appear.
The onRelease buttons work fine, but I can't get the onRollover buttons to work consistently. Sometimes the onRollover buttons will correctly advance to a different frame, and sometimes they "stick" and do not advance. The script has no errors and I've tried changing the sizes of the onRollover buttons (in case they were too large and the cursor was hovering over more than 1 at the same time), changing the order of the code for the onRelease and onRollover commands (in case the onRollovers were being superseded by the onRelease commands), and countless variations of the layers and frames.

I have a flash menu with buttons which need to open Powerpoint presentations. At the moment, getURL does not work. Would fscommand work? how to use this? I am using CS5 and PPT 2007.
All the movieclips are nested with the actionscript saved in a seperate file so the stage is empty. As I am new to as3 I don't know how to add buttons to which will then open other nested movieclips. I have looked at various tutorials but none cover exactly this issue.Otherwise if someone could maybe create a mc button and movieclip and add it to this file along with the relevant actionscript that would be really appreciated as I would have an example to refer to.

I want to be able to call 2 values from the mysql db Currently I only get the first one.Any order works.Now I tried to change the parameters in the flash file.I get the 2 values but they are the same.How would I get goldshare and the bank value seperately.[code]
Anybody knows if it's possible with tweenlite to add tweens on a MC 'seperately' like you can with caurina tweener? the MC will always need to move to X 300 , but depending on circumstances may also need to be tweened to Y or rotated or scaled or alpha'd or colored or filtered. And I also planned to test if it "succeeds" in applying FP10 rotationY to 180 (3D flip around axis) but if that fails applying scaleX to -1 (so it does a simple flip around axis instaed).... basically depending on how the user has set publish settings.
For each level in my game I have a large bitmap that I need to load. I would like to load the bitmap as the player gets to that level rather than all the bitmaps loading right at the beginning.And this is where I get stuck. I want everything else to load during the beginning pre-loader, but I don't know how to exclude the images from being preloaded at this point. I'd prefer not to load anything externally either.
I have created a basic flash navigation menu bar for my website. I have added the bar into a frame on my dreamweaver page. I was just wondering if it was possible to link the buttons on my flash bar to open the pages into the main frame below my navigation bar? The code I have at the moment for my "home" button is the following:

and this is opening the "home" page in a new window. Is it possible to make it open it in my main frame (called mainFrame)?
Is it possible to use HTML frames with Flash? For example, I want to make a flash menu system on my site, and have the click of the menu buttons open up an HTML page in a different frame.

For some reason all three sound objects play at 5% of the volume (the volume that was set for "WhenTextAppears"). I want to controle the volume of the 3 objects seperatly,.... I thought the code above should do the trick but it doesnt.
