ActionScript 3.0 :: Make An Animated Flash Banner In Which A Graphic Slides?

I am trying to make an animated flash banner in which a graphic slides across a 774 by 100 px stage which stops after playing once and repeats on mouse over.
I have managed to make the animation repeat on mouse over, but when it does, the graphic only slides to the point on the stage that the mouse moved over.
I have also tried this with a mouse out which works fine but is not quite what I was trying to achieve.

I am making a small banner that is populated with text, and slides across the stage. There are 3 attributes in the xml:
One for the message to be displayed
One for the link and one for the target (window).
All works very well...except for one thing. In AS2 I was able to replace a link if I needed,
with a asFunction in order to trigger a function in the main timeline. This bit isn't working. So asFunction was replaced with a text event, tho this won't work for me here, I think...

I need to create a flash banner that has an animated Northern lights or aurora borealis. Does anyone know how to make this kinda thing? Are there tutorials for something like this? I would assume that this would entail creating fractals.

What I'm trying to is make a button that when you click it, it swaps the button out for an animated graphic. So that the button looks like it turns into something else. For instance, I have a house on a hill and when you click it, a person should come out of it. And another instance, there is a bottle and when you click it, it sprouts legs.
Is there a way to do this without swapping the whole scene? I have other animations that are constantly playing so if I were to do that, it would mess up the other animations.

I have created a basic animation in Flash CS5 and I need to add a clickable URL link to it. I've tried a few tutorials that looked promising, but none of them solved my problem. I've tried a number of things including converting parts or all of the images to simple buttons or movies and linking them that way as well as typing in code for ActionScript 2 and 3, none of which were successful. The animation plays correctly when viewed in my browser, but when I click on it, the link does not work. I would prefer that the entire banner be clickable to take viewers to the linked website rather than using hyperlinked text. Also, when I open the Code Snippets window, it is empty, no matter what image or frame I've selected. Do I need to import code snippets from somewhere or am I simply going about things the wrong way?

I've created all the "slides" with their own text animations, but when I try to make the movie loop, it doesn't work. Here is what I've tried:No action scripting - movie animation loops, but sequence is all goofy because the slides keep looping.Adding a stop action to each "slide" - individual slides stop, but movie doesn't loop.Adding a stop();{gotoAndPlay (1);} action on each "slide" - same as no scripting. (I saw that script on another web forum, please don't think I know what I'm doing)Adding stops to all slides except last, adding the same stop/goto as above on last slide - the movie plays, then goes blank, then last slide plays; blank - last slide; blank - last slide.

I have 2 movie clips, one names mc_frame01 and another mc_frame02. I've tried to set variables and arguments to make it easier when theres more mc_frameXX's. All I want the animation to do is first MC slides in from the right, pauses, then slides off to the left. Then repeat for each MC. With the code below, both MC's seem to slide in from the right at the same time and that's it.

If I have a designer make the necessary graphics, what do I need to learn to make a flash based game?
I already understand the backend server work that would need to talk to the 'front end' part of the game i.e. how the flash game will make requests to the backend servers for storing/retrieving data in xml/json etc.

I'm making a presentation and want to make the text of the slides appear on command.This is what I wrote on the actions layer.
1.) First frame

On the actions layer there's a stop "stop();" before each new layer starts. But it doesn't work. I tried to paste the code in any order but still nothing. I works on a sample fla file I got.

I know that people don't generally like expanding flash banners, but my motive is simply to provide additional details for the sponsors of my forum[url]...
As you can see, in the upper right hand corner, I have a very simple rotating flash banner that shows the local companies that keep it going. I'd like to provide an additional service for people that are interested in using them, where each sponsor gets a drop-down menu that has a map, address, directions and contact information IF the user clicks on it, and wants to see the information for that sponsor.
Now I know enough about flash on how to create the actual banner itself, but for the life of me, I simply cannot make it extend over the rest of the page. It always ends up displaying the entire .swf file, no mater whether I make half of it transparent or not.
I've tried using several banners, including the Double-Click Ad Kit and some other expample flashes, but for the life of me, and through very extensive googl searching I can't find any clear cut instructions on how to make it extend OVER the rest of the body. I've found some pages that sorta mention how to do it, but I really have had no luck in duplicating it.

I am a full time web designer for a company that specialises in building online booking websites for the travel industry.I am an expert when it comes to Photoshop, but Flash is still quite new to me, I know the basics on how to make a flash display banner for an ad campaign but that's about as far as it goes.Basically I am creating an ad banner for a client, I have decided to use vector graphics for button/lozenges instead of PNGs to save on file size. However, when I create the buttons/lozenges on the stage the text seems perfectly aligned within. However, when I publish the SWF it seems to misalign. Look at the screenshot below for an example of what I mean.

I am new to CS5 and i'm wondering how to make a flash banner play only once for the visitor. My home page has a search engine and every time the search the result will display with the banner playing again. this is the same for navigating through pages. I want the banner to stay on the last frame. its not looping, its just replaying everytime i navigate.

I have found a code on the net for a Flashbanner that scrolls the infoholder (info) horizontal. De info contains data parsed from xml. Now I want to replace the scrolling effect with a fade-in/out. I know there's a way to make a fade-in/out effect with two mc_containers. I tried that but with no result. Then I tried to make a Array where the info is pushed in.

I recently just made a flash banner where you can click buttons to change frames. I also want to add the ability for it to automatically change frames after 7 seconds. I've put all of the pictures on the same frame and gave them frame labels. What would be the actionscript code I should use to make this work, along with making the buttons still functional? Also, how can I put buttons to go to the last frame from the first, and first to the last, while still making them stop at every frame? I keep trying and nothing's working.

I'm having a little trouble with my flash banner. When I click on my button, it opens the link I specified in a new window or new tab, like target _blank in HTML. I want it to open in the same window, so you're still navigating through the site. At the moment i am trying to make a flash banner that rotates banners out randomly and also when the guest sees the a banner they are intrested in they can click on it and it will take them to the respective link. I followed some tutorials out there on how to use xml and flash together and came up with this for my flash code:
