I need to create a flash banner that has an animated Northern lights or aurora borealis. Does anyone know how to make this kinda thing? Are there tutorials for something like this? I would assume that this would entail creating fractals.

I have been tyring to export an animated banner, in animated.gif format. it's a simple animated text with no gradients. it should go on top of a graphic which has some gradients and is multi-coloured and with effects (the colours are similar to the one/i used in the page) as you can see here the text looks a bit funny.url...

View 0 RepliesI am trying to make an animated flash banner in which a graphic slides across a 774 by 100 px stage which stops after playing once and repeats on mouse over.
I have managed to make the animation repeat on mouse over, but when it does, the graphic only slides to the point on the stage that the mouse moved over.
I have also tried this with a mouse out which works fine but is not quite what I was trying to achieve.

I have created a basic animation in Flash CS5 and I need to add a clickable URL link to it. I've tried a few tutorials that looked promising, but none of them solved my problem. I've tried a number of things including converting parts or all of the images to simple buttons or movies and linking them that way as well as typing in code for ActionScript 2 and 3, none of which were successful. The animation plays correctly when viewed in my browser, but when I click on it, the link does not work. I would prefer that the entire banner be clickable to take viewers to the linked website rather than using hyperlinked text. Also, when I open the Code Snippets window, it is empty, no matter what image or frame I've selected. Do I need to import code snippets from somewhere or am I simply going about things the wrong way?
View 4 RepliesI have been trying to create a gif web banner using flash. Everything look great in flash, flash player and quicktime but when I export or publish as a gif my background image is grainy and pixelated. My document is saved as 500X90. My background image was saved out of photoshop as 72 dpi. 500X90. I tried saving the image as .tif, .png, .jpg, all with the same result.
I'm not sure if this is the problem or not as I'm a freshman user but I have the background image running on its own timeline that runs the length of the movie. Also the animated text/symbols created in flash look perfect when I save it as a gif the only thing effected is the background image. I'm stuck, I have looked all over the web for the answer. On a side note I'm using a Mac running os x 10.4.11
I have a map, which dots for locations, and a list on the right of place names. I want to rollover, say, Paris and the dot over central/northern France glows (expands, flashes, something... I know that would be in the movie over France).
So my question is, if the buttons on the right are the parts that mouseover (and will change colour, like good web links should) how do I get the dots on the map to change when the name is rolled over?
For a project I wanted to create something, that resembles something like this:- a very detailed waterdrop- some kind of ooze- some kind of amoebaSomething like that. A roughly round organically animated thing, with a darker outline. Now I wondered how to realize this. I basically had three ideas so far.a) I draw the outline with actionscript, using drawing function to create dynamically a shape out of curves, fill it with a fitting color and make the outline more distinct using the linestyle. The problem: I'm not sure if there is any realistic chance to also animate this without using thousands of lines of code.
b) I create several round shapes that are close to each other. All of them have the same color, and I move them slowly around, so that they look like a single shape with a curved border slowly animated. Then I add an outline by creating a thin but very strong glow effect. Problem: These filters take up a lot of processing power, and the Glowfilter will be slightly blurry (beeing a glow filter after all), which is not the effect I want.c) I draw the shapes by hand, give them manually an outline and animate the thing using tweens and stuff. Problem: I don't think I can animate them fluently enough that way.
I am trying to create a scrollable banner flash, exactly like [url]... does it. I have all of the adobe products. Is this kind of thing hard to create?

View 1 RepliesI need to create an expandable flash banner. I have tried using the DartMotif Tutorial and installed the plugin etc. However when i get so far it doesn't work. I've done the tutorial about 3 times now and still get stuck on the same part.
I was wondering if there is another way of creating expandable flash banners? Or, if anyone has a different tutorial. The tutorial i'm using was downloaded from [URL] called Motif Expanding Ad Tutorial.doc.
I'm relatively new to flash, and just upgraded from Flash 6 to Flash 10. This is a HUGE jump for me, but strangely, I already feel more at home in Fl10 than Fl6, as it is more object oriented, and as a hardened programmer, I like.I'm attempting to create dynamically animated objects in a flash application. I can't think of a way to approach the issue without either a: converting each keyframe into a bitmap, or b: brute-force generating each frame every step of the way.Seeing as my application will have hundreds of the little bastards on the screen at any time, option b is out of the question, I presume.
So, essentially, I have a few questions about AS3:
1) Can a curve be modified after it has been drawn, or must it be cleared, then redrawn each frame?
2) Can a IK chain modify curves, or is it only per-symbol?
3) How fast can flash render complex objects in 3D? (I.E. would drawing hundreds of 400+ poly objects be too much?)
4) How fast can flash draw vector objects? (I.E. would drawing hundreds of creatures made up of dozens of curves be too cumbersome?)
I want to create banner and do exchange with others.Banner will be flash because it will load just entry titles with URL's from XML, which is on my site.

I have to create a banner that expands over content when moused over and then contracts on mouse out. I have managed to create the expand/contract animations and actions but I am having trouble positioning the that the flash file is in to ensure that it's flows over other elements on the page.

I want to include this within another animation of it flying around as well as flapping wings and wondering how this can be done. I tried to import it as both a gif image and swf movie and although it holds the original animation I cannot add the motion tween to draw the flying path.
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to create an animated movie clip button in AS2 using CS5. The button should fade in/out as the mouse moves over and away from the button.Lets say my frame rate is 30 FPS. When I insert a motion tween on frame 1, the timeline is automatically extended by 30 frames. I then select frame 30, select the button and change the alpha value to 30%. When I drag the head marker back and forth, the button fades in and out smoothly exactly as I wanted.But I want to create a motion tween between frame 1 and 10. So I select frame 10, insert a keyframe, select frame 5 and insert a motion tween. Then I select frame 10, select the button and change the alpha value to 30% like before. When I drag the head marker, there is no fade in/out. When the head marker is exactly over frame 10, the button is faded, but when it is on any frame between 1 and 9, it is normal.

I have a movie clip which contain button in the library than I create an animated button which it contain movie clip, unfortunately after it publish, the animated button doesnt work.
