ActionScript 3.0 :: Make Video Background That Re-sizes To Browser
Jul 25, 2011
So, I've been trying to attempt to make it so a .flv video will fit to the entire screen of the browser window. ( I already have my file file fit to re-size to any browser on any computer. I just can't figure out how to make the video as well) And obviously an external video so the flash file wont take forever to load.
The point is this is to be able to have the Video be the background. So I may put content (Links, information or whatever else) on top of the video.
I'm building a flash website. I want the background to be a .jpg photograph which fills the entire area outside the browser. I understand that it is possible to scale background to fit different sized computers, but I don't understand how that doesn't distort the image when viewed on a widescreen computer. Is there some way tocreate a site that shows a portion of the image on a 800 x 600 monitor, a little more of the image on a 1024 x 768 monitor and even more a 1650 x 1050 monitor.
I'm looking to create a site that has video playing full browser in the background. A very perfect example lies here:[URL]..As you can see, the video is scaled according to stage resize while the menus and such stay where they should like a perfect liquid layout. I've watched the Liquid Layout video (from this site i'm pretty sure?) and understand how to position objects on the stage according to stage resize, but I've never figured out how to scale only the video like that. The only way I've been able to do that is by setting my publish settings to NoBorder with 100% width and height, but that defeats the whole liquid layout because it scales your entire swf. I feel like it's some sort of math I'm not grasping.
I'm probably wrong, but I feel like the way I'd go about doing this would be to set everything up as a liquid layout site; that is specify stage align and scale to TOP_LEFT and NO_SCALE. I'd have my liquid menu items positioned accordingly with a resize function and for the background video I'd use a FLV Playback Component that would be manipulated through another as3 function to scale accordingly. I'd use a Playback Component so as to be able to load multiple external videos (.h264) when a link was clicked. Am I on the right track? AS3 only please!
i am building a website in flash 8 and was wondering if it is possible to make different background sizes for different pages.I know how to change the template size, but when, for instance i change page 3's background (because it is a bigger page) all the other pages' background change to that size.
How do you make a flash full browser background with high quality like here: [URL](choose your language at first. After that opens up a screen with a full browser bitmap man on the left size.)I have been trying to make such scalable high quality background image but the results have been poor.
I am new to Flash CS5 and I am working on a Flash animation project. I drew everything in Illustrator CS5 and imported these drawings in Flash to do the animation. I have different scenes & exported them all as separate movie clips. I was thinking of using Final Cut Pro to make the final movie, but the video quality is not good & its pixelated.and whats the most suitable render width & height for tv screening ?
Suppose I am designing a widget that is 400x300 and in that I want to import a youtube video (which is an external swf). Through loadClip I am able to do this, but I face a lot of issues.Like for eg the space in which (container) I want to load the youtube movie, I am not able to confined it into that space by just giving that container a width/height.After lot of exploring, if I give it _xscale and _yscale I can somehow get it to those coordinates and dimensions but still dont understand why it just doesnt load into that space like a photo that I would import.
Now, suppose I want to increase the size of this widget to something like 500x500 - whats the best way to do this?1) Create a new widget with 500x500 dimenions? Too painful.2) Just while embedding change dimensions of 400x300 widget to 500x500?This works when I just load photos but not youtube videos. It screws my stage and just keep it like 400x300 and not 500x500
I have a 2 buttons and the mouse wheel enabled with zoom functionality. Generally this is the AS:
[code]...
this works fine and dandy, but its not so smooth...is there a way to transition between the zoom sizes to make a fluid motion or maybe with an easing effect.can this be done with actionscript or is this more of a shape tween thing?
I want to embed some video into my HTML page. As background I want to use big picture. And above it I want to insert loop video with (i.e.) walking man.So, can I embed video (without flash and any player controls) in page?Can I decode video with transparent background? Is there any codecs which support transparent background (alpha-channel)?
I've designed a Flash site in CS3 using Action Script 2.0 that has a main flash movie sorta floating in space over a gradient background. I want the gradient background to re-size with the browser, so I thought that the easiest way to do this would be to delete the gradient background in Flash and instead recreate the background in Dreamweaver using the repeat background option and then make the Flash movie's background transparent. (I hope I'm making some amount of sense here).
I've found a few tutorials on how to do this, but so far I just get a white background instead of transparent. I've tried choosing "Transparent - Windowless" under Window Mode on the HTML tab in Publish Settings. And I've tried selecting the movie from within DW and clicking the parameter button and adding a "wmode" parameter with "transparent" as its value.
in other words, suppose I want to send data, like text, programmatically from a Windows app (such as a browser plugin) to a Flash app running in the browser. Well, conceptually, an example of this might be a Flash instant messenger with a textbox and button "Send"; so let's say I want to be able to programmatically paste the text and press Send or otherwise activate it. That's NOT what I am trying to do here in reality (i.e., no,I am not trying to spam other people's chat rooms or anything)but just an illustration of a similar situation.I can include in it whatever widget or hack that may be necessary.The reason why this problem is arising for me is that AFAIK the SDK that is providing me the data I want cannot be directly accessed from Flash, so I need a way to pipe the data from a regular app into Flash. can I have the Flash app interact with other apps through localhost IP? Or are there draconian restrictions on which server Flash in browser can and cannot interact?
My video player slows down the whole browser when downloading the video and I dont know how to prevent this. If you need to see the code, Link to slow video player : [URL]
I am doing a site for my senior project in college and I was wondering what the best way to use a background image in flash is? I'd like the background image to fill the browser all the time, so resizing the browser will resize the background. Basically, is there a way to make the stage size the background? I'd like to be able to shift the background via AS tweening, but I want to make sure that what's on the stage is what's in the browser and can't see beyond that.
I am creating a site and I want a small swf slideshow background to be loaded into the main site SWF and be able to be resized to fill the browser. But as I bring in other swf files they are able to retain their size, not be resized in the browser. And I want the main site to stay in the center of the browser.
I used a colour gradient background image on my stage for my website.Managed to load up the same background onto the browser background.However, the result is not satisfactory as I can see the website background image boundaries against the browser background.How can I get around this? Or is there a code that allows me to change my website background to transparent so that I can only see one browser background?
and I want place the following javascript in my HTML file:
ActionScript Code: <script language="JavaScript"> <!-- function changeBgColor(newBgColor) { if (window.document && window.document.bgColor) {
[Code].....
but I don't know where in my HTML file to place it as there is alot of Java I don't understand. I have tried to place it in myself but it won't work. The HTML file I wanna place the Java into, is attached.
I am trying to achieve an effect seen as on this website. [URL]
I want to have a background image that resizes to the browser window (my other elements retaining their size) - but stays in scale. I have been using the code provided at gotoandlearn which tiles the image. Here is the code used there.
import flash.display.BitmapData; GreyBar._xscale = Stage.width; var tile:BitmapData = BitmapData.loadBitmap("tile");
I am trying to build an AS3.0 flash site with a full browser background imagethat scales proportionally like in [URL] I found some stuff online but nothing on how to do it with AS3.0
I've got one main SWF loading other SWF files and these need to run a php script. I'm nearly there, but need the php to run in the background without opening up another browser window.
I saw the snow tutorial on this website and i plan on using it for 20 seconds (500 frames) in my introduction. It works perfectly fine, but after that time, it doesn't stop. It keeps on going and going and going... how to make it stop or make it go into the background? used the code provided by the tutorial. I know this is sudden by can someone answer today because i have to put it together before thursday.
I want to load an external swf to the background and then have it resized proportionally according to the browser window so it can fill up the whole screen.
I have a white stage and my background is non-solid/non-uniform. My flash project will be my whole website, therefore when a browser window is larger than my stage, the stage color (white) shows in the background. Its basically a white border on the left and right. I wish I could continue my background image to cover the whole browser window. What I want to do is: if needed (if the browser window is larger than my stage) continue my background on both sides by taking a copy of my background image, flipping it horizontally, and placing it on both sides of my background. If you can imagine it, this will give a more uniform continuation of the background. I'm guessing actionscript would be the best bet?
I have created a simple movie and placed it in an 'Under Construction' page. The whole page is meant to be black. When I open the browser a white box shows, where the movie will appear, while it is loading. I want the whole page to appear black.[url]...
Is there a cross-browser solution to making a flash players background invisible? I have a swf movie that I want to sit on a faintly stripped background. I could place the same background in the Flash movie and sit it with CSS - using hacks for i.e. to make the backgrounds match up, but wondered whether there was a simple way of turning the background off?
