Jul 2, 2011is it possible at all using Flash/AS to get the html source code of a webpage and parse it to get some variables from a specific part in the html code..?

Jan 10, 2010I am trying to load and parse html in adobe air. The main purpose being to extract title, meta tags and links. I have been trying the HTMLLoader but I get all sort of errors, mainly javascript uncaught exceptions.I also tried to load the html content directly (using URLLoader) and push the text into HTMLLoader (using loadString(...)) but got the same error. Last resort was to try and load the text into xml and then use E4X queries or xpath, no luck there cause the html is not well formed.Is there simple and reliable (air/action script) DOM component there (I do not need to display the page and headless mode will do)?Is there any library to convert (crappy) html into well formed xml so I can use xpath/E4X.

Aug 22, 2011what if u want to parse a whole html table into flash and turn each colunm into an actionscript 3 array? flash doesnt know how many rows the table has, but i could print the number of rows in the same page as the html table, and make it parse the number of rows from the same page after a urlrequest the first step is to probably make a php page with my database splayed out as a table, maybe with

numrows=2 and so on as table entries, and then have flash urlrequest the page i can do that, but i dont know how to parse each column into an actionscript 3 array but it only shows how to parse one value, not a whole array:[URL]

Feb 18, 2010I am using JSON to parse HTML data with customized html tags in Flex. Flex's support for HTML is pretty minimal, so I am wondering if it's possible to do a simple font color change rollover effect on these links. Currently I have found that Flex only supports a few HTML tags, but also supports CSS through Flex's whack CSS methods. Can I manipulate HTML that is written in my JSON files through an external CSS file? Or better still using a simple tag with the JSON file?

For example, Lets say I have a movieclip that contains 6 keyframes, and I want flash to load the proper keyframe when the main swf is opened. Flash knows what the proper keyframe is, because that variable is stored in a MySQL database, or txt file, or xml file, or whatever. Also, how could i have flash write to an external file, so that i can save the changes.

The page is an intranet page within my company's domain.What I would like to do is to take the HTML/text in the HTMLLoader component and convert it to a string so that I can list it out in a textArea. I want to parse the text to grab information like names and phone numbers etc. I'm sure I'm just missing something obvious.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Flash + HTML + Variables - Go To The Home.html Page An Animation Will Play From Start And Then Stop At The End Of It
Feb 25, 2010when you go to the home.html page an animation will play from start and then stop at the end of it. However, for all other pages i.e contact.html aboutus.html we need the animation to skip to the end straight away and not to play the whole animation through. I was thinking this would be controlled by a variable or some kind of external text file ect. Basically in the first frame the actionscript needs to basically say
"if this html page is aboutus.html then go to the last frame and stop" and with the index page it would say "if this html page is index.html then keep playing"

I keep getting errors. I program and use so many different languages that I dont know if that can be done with AS3. my only other alternative i can think of is to create some sort of event dispatcher object array. but I dont know how to get them all to send events to one listener with there index number.

Aug 26, 2010i have a Air Project in which i have added three extenal source folders. but when i reopen project or strat flash builder again i get icon on those folder like this but when i open the configuration for that project and try to validate the path and adding it again i get message like this but the path is valid. proof is this pic what could be possible error,,, is there any way that i when ever re-open project i get no warning and able to navigate through the linked source code. now i am doing it
1- deleting on of the linked folder

Jul 1, 2011I have a scenario that I get an string with html data, this is not just html data it's an email (outlook) saved as an html file and dropped in the string.Now this string needs to be formatted to an html document and should be a clickable link in a datagrid. So when I click on the link, the HTML document should pop-up and should gave me a nice HTML page that is readable for the normal users. I hope it's a bit clear what I want o_0. don't know where to start.

Apr 29, 2004i sort of asked this before but never got a clear responce to it. this is sort of a two part question. one i have a dynamic gallery of images with a small picture that you click on that loads a bigger picture. I would love to be able to just have one photo that loads into the bigger mc and also the small mc. right now what i am doing is making two size photos a small 47x47 and a large141x141. does anyone know how i can use the same photo for both mc's second question. if that works will it make the small photos take forever to load since their sorce is a large photo?
