I have a center window and a background in my flash file. I am trying to get the center window to stay in the center of the web browser screen and get the background to expand and fill the entire web browser screen below center window layer. Sort of like this site [URL] I've currently converted the background to a movie clip and have this code.

I want to put a movieclip with tools at the bottom of the window in the center with tools icons, it should have fixed posiiton so that user can scroll the main window having it always on prompt. I think I need the browser window size properties to do somenthing as this. Is there a way to get them?

A bit of background: I was able to achieve this using <center></center> tags a few years ago. But I have since upgraded to CS5 and I understand that this old method is now obsolete.
I have found a few threads/forums that address this, but I know nothing about HTML and these threads don't help me because they assume you have more knowledge than I possess. When opening up the index.html file in Dreamweaver I can't find anything that looks vaguely familiar to what is being discussed. I have found some code samples using <div></div> tags but have no idea where to place it.
So I will need it explained to me in a step by step fashion, including which file I need to fix and what program I should use. Code samples will be very welcome if you can tell me exactly where it goes.
I want to keep the flash object centered, even when the window size is smaller than 1280, so it only shows the center of the div.

I am can not figure out how to alight the stage in the center of the browser window once published. It is always in the upper left. Everything seems to be set to the "center".

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to open a new browser window with center positioning and a size of w=725 and height=600 with a scrollbar. I'd like to be able to click the button from the flash site and open another site in this window. What is the best way to do this using AS2? I found this script on the adobe site but haven't been able to get it to work with the on (press):

But also this doesn't address the position on the screen where the window opens. In the AS1 it seem to work ok with something like openWinCentre.
I have a problem with the following actionsctipt. what this actionscript does is to position the "mc_content" in the middle of page all the time, even the user trying to resize the window. but my problem is when you open the window "mc_content" is not align in the middle, but after you resize the browser it will adjust in the middle of the page.

I'm doing some tests and I'm trying to create a simple presentation. It's not something I'll be using online. I just want it to present some things at school. Since I don't know the resolution of the monitor at school, I wanted something I could max the window and rest with the content (stage) centered. At start, everything was working fine but sudenly the stage started to be aligned to top left when exported and windows maximized. Here's my code:

The bkg.swf is an external background I'm using... it ajusts it's size to fill all the window automaticaly. When I first wrote this code, it was working fine. Than I added some objects and MC's to the stage and now whenever I export the file it's aligned to the top left of my window.
Made first full screen flash. However, container_mc doesnt move to center until window is resized (draged with cursor or minimized then reopened) thus if end user never resizes it container_mc is always half way out of the window. Here is my AS can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong with a pretty in front of that please:

My flash movie is 1440x900 but the area where all the important stuff happens in within 1024x768, i am trying to keep the middle in the center regardless of browers size or aspect ratio.
I can center the page but it doesn't work as i need it to. If the browers is small (1024x768) the swf is justified against the left edge, but not keeping the middle in the middle of the brower.

I am preparing a presentation DVD... DVD will contain wmv video, user manual and another flash exe file... So DVD interface will contain three elements; user manual, a flash exe file and video.. Flash video window will be short-time video, playing like 5-10 seconds then repeats itself... View 3 RepliesSo I have this AIR app coded in flex where I have several floating native windows and what I want is to detect when a user clicks outside of a window so that I can close it. (I don't want to use the PopupManager Class and would want to use the native windows).
My question is, is there a way to detect a click outside of a spark window, or alternativley is there some root container/object which is a parent to all the native windows so that a click inside any native window would bubble up to it? (Apparently the stage object of the root windowed application is not that object since each window is not a child of the stage for the root application).

I created a Flash application that reads POST data from a form. A user clicks the button, and the data gets posted to the flash app in a new window (_blank). Now takes the data and then spins a wheel to give users a prize. If they don't win a message pops up letting them know they didn't win. If they don't win, clicking the OK button needs to close the browser window.
I've tried a number of solutions and it seems that the only way to get this done is to launch the window with javascript and then use ExternalInterface.call('window.close'); to close the window from within the Flash actionscript (3) because otherwise the window won't close (I've tried just using window.close and window.close() with no luck)
I understand how to launch a new window with javascript, but I don't know how to simultaneously launch and POST data to that window (the Flash application has to have the POST data. Is this the best solution? Is there a way to close a browser window easier than what I'm describing?[URL]
I'm trying to create a pop up window in Flash which also fades the background window to 75% black. When the user closes the pop up window, I'd like for the parent window to un-fade back to normal. Is this possible? I can do the first half of it and make the background window fade to 75% black. The difficult thing is making it fade back to normal when the user closes the pop up window.My thoughts are that I need to attach some code to the browser's built in close window button. It might require some javascript or a fscommand. I'm not sure.

Go to [URL]. Click on "The Photos". It will pop up in a fullscreen window. Try resizing the window and you'll notice that the background is vector and it looks like the scale mode is set to "showAll". BUT, the photos look like they have a separate scale mode set to "noScale". They don't resize.
