ActionScript 3.0 :: Populating A Datagrid With Some JSON Data That Came From A Mysql Query?

I'm populating a datagrid with some JSON data that came from a mysql query.I was wondering if it's possible to tell a piece of JSON data to go to a column other than the name it has?My JSON data comes in with abbreviated names...
[{"gID":"Rock","vID":"Darby's Pub","gRec":"Yes"}]
and I load it into my dataGrid's data provider...
myDG.dataProvider = new DataProvider(myJSON);
Currently, my columns have to be named...
gID, vID, and gRec
for the above data to be populated.Is it possible to have more meaningful column names, while keeping the abbrieviated form in the JSON data? eg...
GIG STYLE, VENUE, CAN BE RECORDED
or do I have no choice but to make the full names a part of the JSON like...
[{"GIG STYLE":"Rock","VENUE":"Darby's Pub","CAN BE RECORDED":"Yes"}]

I am trying to populate a datagrid based on a value selected from a combobox. The data comes from a xml file, which looks something like this,[code]The user can list data in the datagrid based on either "media" and "region." For example, the user should be able to choose "Europe" from the combobox and list "only" media having "Europe" in the region tags. In this case, if the user chooses "Europe" from the Combobox only one listing (rammstein) will be seen in the Datagrid.However, it doesn't work. I get a blank datagrid. Loading data into the datagrid is not the problem, because if I just use a straight For loop with no conditions I fill the datagrid no problem. The problem comes up when I try to control what data get listed in the datagrid based on selected value in the combobox.[code]

I've scripted a connection to PHP that gets data from MYSQL and outputs that into a datagrid.When I encrypt the swf with Ameyata SWF Encrypt 5.0, and upload it to my webhost, it looks fine. I can click the header of the datagrid (that sorts the data), but when I click on a field of the datagrid, it just freezes and my datagrid is not usable. I'd have to reload the page in order to do something with the datagrid again. But the problem with the field remains.It works when I'm not encrypting the swf.URL...

Created an editable flex grid which exposes a method called getGridData() to javascript. I am using the JSON.encode() method of the [url]....library to convert the grid object's dataProvider into JSON before returning it.
ExternalInterface.addCallback("getGridData", getGridData);

However, when I sort a column in the user interface, the encode method is failing throwing the following error
Property usingCustomCompareFunction not found on mx.collections.SortField and there is no default value.

I'm working on a Flash AS2 application that needs to post JSON data to a web service.In previous projects, I've used LoadVars.send() or LoadVars.sendAndLoad() successfully to manage this:

In somepage.php, I can grab that JSON data using $_POST['data'].However, on this project, the developer of the web service requires the JSON content to be the BODY of the request (i.e., not a name/value pair). Is this possible with LoadVars?

I have to work with webservices in Actionscript. I found the following code that allows me to use JSON URLs that implement only the GET method. However, it doesn't work for POST methods (doesn't even enter the "onComplete" method). How can i "POST" JSON data using Actionscript 3.0?

I'm working on an online photo catalog, it works in straight PHP/HTML but the photos are too easy to grab (Facebook and myspace are loaded with my photos). I am trying to create a query from Flash Builder to PHP/mySQL with selectedItems. I have a simple SELECT query set up to populate a datagrid of items I would like to select for main query (two records looks something like this "19 10","20 10"). This is where I get stuck. I don't know if I need to break down the selectedItems in Flash Builder for formatting in SQL or if I can do it in PHP.
I would assume that it should be done in Flash Builder and I would then send the partial SQL statement to PHP. As of right now, Flash Builder is holding the selected values as CustomObjects and I unsure of how to retrieve what is in the objects for formatting.

This yields an array of CustomObjets and I lost from there.I will need the resulting SQL statement would need to look something like this.

I have a combobox and a datagrid that are both populated by an xml. The combobox works perfectly. The datagrid is loading something cause the auto scrollbar comes up and is longer or shorter depending on what category I select from the combobox. For some reason the datagrid simply isn't displaying any text. I'm sure it's something small that I'm overlooking, but I just can't find it.Here are the source files for the issue I am having.

i am using Flash CS4 (AS3) + AMFPHP + MySQL to do own flash frontend for Wordpress CMS. Everything is going fine but i`ve got one problem. Problem with properly display of result of query in AS3 by using ArrayCollection.
When i check my service in "amfphp/browser/" in web browser i`ve got this (with all needed data):

I know that "result" is an ArrayCollection type but i don`t know how to get rows and columns from this. I know that my data is there but i have no idea how to get it.
how to get to Arrays and simple data variables which are in ArrayCollection.
P.S. I tried also change query type in service.PHP for mysql_fetch_query but in that case i`ve got only one row (not all data).

Wasn't sure where to post this one as I'm not sure where the error is occuring.I have datagrid components being populated from a mySQL DB using php. The grids exist on external swfs being loaded into a parent clip.The datagrids populate locally no problem when tested individually and when loaded into the parent clip. They have also been working from the server in previous days, but I was doing final tests checks on some recent final changes and now things aren't working.obviously I went back and ran through what I changed but nothing really applied to the grids.Codes are below

I am trying to figure out how to manage a Datagrid based on an XML object like this:

I will need to populate the Datagrid column names based on a different XML object and use the above XML to populate each of the column's rows. I currently am able to create the Datagrid and populate its column headers but I am unsure as to how to how to add the rows for each column. The above XML will be update with new row and column elements added and deleted. This, of course, will be bound to the Datagrid to show updates.

I'm using Flex 4. Have PHP backend and mysql database with one table consisting of multiple rows. I take the raw data from the result event and decode it using JSON. I then dump the data into an ArrayCollection that I use as my datagrid's data provider.
My question is how can I tell when someone inserts a new row into the mysql table so that I can automatically refresh my ArrayCollection, thus seamlessly updating my datagrid one element at a time? Right now, it's just a one time call and the connection is closed. If someone inserts a new row into the database my program doesn't recognize, unless I restart it. I'd like to auto-update the AC whenever a single new row is inserted into the mysql database. Is there a way I can "listen" for this change?

[URL]I have a checkbox renderer i am placing into my Datagrid. The checkbox needs to do a sql query on the sqllite database and see if the show is marked as watched, if it is then make the checkbox as checked and if not mark the checkbox and not checked.
What i would like to do further to this is add the watched items to one XMLList and add the not watched episodes to a different XMLList and have the checkbox on click= move from one to the other list as per watched or not.

We have implemented a Flash photo slideshow on our site and it works just fine for most of our users. Whenever the xml.load(success) returns false I have the Flash email me a debug report. For the life of me I can not find a common thread between all of these people having problems with the Flash. I don't think it's a cross-domain issue because it works for most people, and I have the crossdomain.xml files where they should be.

I have have a problem loading and accessing data from a value object in my new project.. I load an xml file via a service, which contains title and locations of asset files, I need to be able to access the location of an asset file by specifying the title and retrieiving it from a value object..
