ActionScript 3.0 :: Set A Common Task Which Is Activate / Deactivate Interactivity (clickability) Of A Button
Oct 25, 2008
I'm trying to set a common task, wich is activate/desactivate interactivity (clickability) of a button. (sometimes clickable, sometimes not). The button is a blue bowl. I use the stopPropagation() of event metod to stop propagation, then my blue bowl is not clickable anymore. (if you erase "stopPropagation()", it becomes clickable) It works.
But I want to change this statut. I've designed a ON/OFF switcher, who set the blue bowl clickability ON/OFF. And it doesn't work. I've tried everything : removeEventListener, an "if" who write "stopPropagation()" or not, but it fails, it stay on the beggining statut. Here's the very simple .fla to show you : [URL] What should be my "ON/OFF switcher" code ?
What I am looking to do is: 1. Click a button to activate (mcButton). 2. Only be able to "dot" when its over a certain area(mcCanvas). 3. When you click on the area (mcCanvas), then it places new instances of the dots(mcDots) on the canvas where your pointer is. (new instances on every click) 4. Click the button (mcButton) again to deactivate.
I am first trying to create the action with out needing the area (mcCanvas). This is what I have so far: Code: startDots = new Object(); startDots.onPress = function() { var d:Number = this._parent.getNextHighestDepth(); var dup:MovieClip = mcDots.duplicateMovieClip("dup_"+d, d); attachMovie.dup(); [Code] .....
I have found that events Events.ACTIVATE and Events.DEACTIVATE do not fire in the browser when wmode = transparent or when wmode = opaque. This is found when the swf is published with or without fullscreen mode capability. However, the events do fire:In the standalone player, such as opening the publised swf locally ( not using a browser ) In the browser when wmode = window
My Goal:Is to detect Events.ACTIVATE and Events.DEACTIVATE with a swf that has been published with fullscreen capability, where the wmode = opaque. ( I have found that when in fullscreen and wmode = window, mouse interactivity events, such as clicks, do not fire. Mouse interactivity is something I need, which I get with wmode = transparent or opaque. )
FYI:I have found that when wmode = window, the DEACTIVATE event fires both when entering and leaving fullscreen mode. The event ACTIVATE does not fire when entering fullscreen mode or when returning to the browser from fullscreen ( user presses Escape, etc ). In the event the user switched to a different window, the DEACTIVATE event fires. When the user returns to the browser, the ACTIVATE fires in IE but does not fire in Firefox until the user clicks in the swf
Setup: Flash CS4 Using the Flash published HTML ( wmode = transparent / opaque ) Firefox 3.6.6 ( Windows XP Pro ) IE 8.0.60 ( Windows XP Pro )
Is it possible to do this: Have two separate menus on web page. Want to reload or send some variable or any kind of way that if you click any button in one menu it also deactivates any pressed button in second menu...
I would like to desactivate my buttons bt01 bt02 bt03 I take an example with button bt01. When you roll over bt01 you can see lapalm but when you roll out bt01 and after you directly roll over bt01 again (without rolling over bt02 or bt03 before) I would like to desactivate the action lapalm.play();on the button bt01 (I don t want that la palm play again)
i have an annoying problem. I have a mc that i use as a button. I have an external class that controls the button and adds interactivity to it, here's part of the code:
The problem is, i want the btn that, when clicked, remain inactive. That's why I remove all the listeners in the class. HOWEVER, it still functions as a button, I mean the functions haven't been removed at all after I click it. What's wrong here?? Why are the functions still there, if I have removed them when clicked at the btn?
I followed this tutorial below: active[dot]tutsplus[dot]com/tutorials/effects/create-an-impressive-magnifying-effect-with-actionscript-30/ to get a magnify lens effect which works wonderfully, unfortunately the problem I'm having is I cannot click on buttons underneath the magnify lens. Is there a work around to this that I can implement? I tried mouseEnabled = false, to no avail. I'm kind of not sure what else to do.
I know it's something simple but could someone please take a look at the attached file and tell me what I am doing wrong! There is an MC on the rollOver state of my button but it won't play, it starts to play and then stops.
using an older version of flash, but it's what i got... also, not really well-versed on flash - i've always just used enough to get by..i have an illustrated room with a few hot spots spread out in it (yes, you've seen it before a million times)... when you click a hot spot, a window pops up with media that will play in it...i have a work-in-progress here:problem is, when you click the button (in this example, it's the record player) and the window pops up, the record player button is still "hot" (?) under the box...sigh, i wish i knew more about this and could explain it better..
I have a movie clip that throws out a bunch of little stars. I then have a button (a big star) and I want the movie clip to play when the button is hovered upon. So, basically when you hover over the big star a bunch of little stars float up from behind it. I have attached my fla, and my code for the movie clip is below:
I have a very complicated interface going on in my flash application, with tons of dependencies/variable checking/etc and it would make my life one heck of a lot easier if it was possible to simply "press" or activate an onscreen button via actionscript. I have never seen this referenced, and don't know if it's possible. Search didn't find me anything. Can you do this in some way? "Virtually" activate a button (and thereby all the button's scripting...)
How to make a number key on the keyboard activate a button on the stage. My drum has 6 buttons on it that play notes when you click them with the mouse. But I also want the number keys 1 - 6 to activate the buttons to.
I have flash which contains the map of the United States. Each state is a separate button. When each state is in hover mode, it changes the look/size of that state and adds names of the cities in white on the particular state.I would actually like to add 2 things to this flash.
1) When the state is hovered over, not only will the state change, but the cities belonging to that state (in the list to the right, will highlight)
2) I would like the city names in the list, when hovered over to highlight and to activate the hover mode of that particular state. In addition, that cityName button in the list and the state button should be able to direct to a URL upon hit.
I currently have each state as a button with each state's hover mode changes.I will be changing the cityNames into buttons (they are currently MCs).Once I change the CityNames into Buttons, then modify their hover modes to look like a highlight, then I know to do the following for the URL direct:[code]One of these will go on each text cityname button. But how do I tell the button to also activate the NewYorkState_btn into hover mode?I will also need each State image button to automatically arrange to the front when they are hovered so that they will not be overlapped by other states. Also, What do I do to get each state to hover and simultaneously highlight the appropriate CityName button(s) in the list?I have included an image below (FLashMapHover.jpg) so that it is a bit more clear what I am trying to do.
How would I make a simple button that when clicked once, acts as if you'd double clicked a video file in explorer, as in it either activates your video player of choice, or plays it immediatly if it's already open.
(I know I've not worded this all that well, please say if you need me to say it more clrealy)
I'm trying to activate a jQuery (facebox) in a flash button but no luck all the relevant JS includes are correctly inserted.. now I just need to get my actionscripting correct.
I have a form saved as an html page, and at the moment my contact button launches this page in a pop up.What I would like is that so when you click my contact button, it loads the pages as a layer so it fits in more with the website and loads ontop of the flash file. For an example check out www.dobi.nu - its and html website but if you go to illustrations and click and image the page loads on top as a layer, just wanna know if it can be done with flash.
I have a button that plays a movie clip. that movie clip is a drop down menu. Is there a code that I can put on the button that will allow the viewer to rollover the button activate the menu and then when they roll off the "menu" part it plays the animation in revers. I made it already with very messy coding and placed a demo on this site. [URL]
I want the user to be able to drag 3 items onto a target area, which will then activate a button. All i'm after is the code rather than a complete guide
I'm new to actionscript so I can't create task that I need.My problem is that, I can't change the task doing every frame with actionscript.let me example:
In this code I told flash to move the object (instance_name) 2 pixels to the right every frame. and if it arrives at the end of stage, It move 2 pixels to the left every frame. But when I test the movie, at the end of stage it wouldn't turn back and move to the left and stood still. Its because it process ( instance_name.x += 2; ) after it got out of the end of stage.
I am trying to deactivate Flash CS3 on my laptop so that I can install and use it it on my desktop machine. All I can find on this subject is the instruction to select "deactivate" from the "help" menu - but the help menu in my version of Flash CS3 doesn'tcontain this option. Is there another way to deactivate Flash?
The options in my menu are as follows:
- Flash Help - Help Resources Online - Whats new in Flash CS3 - Flash exchange - Manage Extensions...
I have a copy of Adobe Flash CS3 Professional installed on my work desktop. I'm soon going offsite for a couple of months during which period I'd be using my work laptop instead. My laptop does not have Flash CS3 on it, so I was hoping of transferring the license to the laptop. I read somewhere that I need to deactivate the license on my desktop (using Help >> Deactivate license) before uninstalling it. Unfortunately, I don't see that option in the Help menu at all.
I want to temporarily deactivate some movieclips that are used as buttons. Currently I don't keep track of the EventListeners that got added to these buttons. I want to be able to deactivate and reactivate them later.
myMc.mouseEnabled=false;
works, but then they are still select- and clickable using the TAB key on the keyboard.
