I am trying to make a getURL() that doesn't utilize a button, at a certain frame in the timeline (after a movieclip). I understand that getURL() no longer exists in Actionscript 3 but if anyone can explain to me how to write an action that will allow me to open a URL in its _parent frame after a certain amount of time
without clicking.
Some browsers force users to click on a flash object before it will activateon my pc opera has this problem and i am told IE has it too.
View 3 RepliesI've uploaded my flash game to the web, when I view the page in any browser I have to click the swf file before I can use the keyboard functions. I can't seem to find a fix.
View 4 RepliesI have created swf file, with buttons, actionscrip version 8.whet I open my file in internet explorer browser, it works correctly, but when i open it in opera browser, I need to click on my flash animation to activate the controls, buttonsHow can I resolve that problem?

View 3 RepliesClick to Activate and Use this Control. upgrade to Studio 8 has been rendered anemic by the requirements of "more security" by Microsoft and others. Now Flash has an error message and you have to click the little sucker to get it to work. Someone dropped the ball BIG TIME on this one. Surely there is a fix for this for a non-programmer such as myself. I thought I was just stupid until I went on Taco Bell's [URL]..
View 1 RepliesI have this message popping up only on the IE "Click To Activate and Use this control message". I googled it and there are a few solutions but somehow they did not really work for me. Is really that complicated to get a fix on that message. Does anyone have a good working solution?
View 1 RepliesEverything was working great.We were instructed to build upon this simple design and add a welcome screen and a game over screen with a click to play button and a click to quit button. I was able to successfully create those screens in new frames on the timeline and have them gotoAndStop at the original game frame, but now instead of being able to move the avatar with the keyboard arrows, I have to click the stage first to use them.
View 4 Repliesi want to create a navigation bar like this: [URL]The difficulty is to click on one channel and activate it and if you klick on another channel - of course - this one's supposed to be active and all the other inactive. Check my script that I have written so far:
PHP Code:
stop();
var buttontest:Boolean;
home_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_OVER, homeover);
function homeover(evtObj:MouseEvent){
[code]....
What I am looking to do is:
1. Click a button to activate (mcButton).
2. Only be able to "dot" when its over a certain area(mcCanvas).
3. When you click on the area (mcCanvas), then it places new instances of the dots(mcDots) on the canvas where your pointer is. (new instances on every click)
4. Click the button (mcButton) again to deactivate.
I am first trying to create the action with out needing the area (mcCanvas). This is what I have so far:
Code:
startDots = new Object();
startDots.onPress = function() {
var d:Number = this._parent.getNextHighestDepth();
var dup:MovieClip = mcDots.duplicateMovieClip("dup_"+d, d);
attachMovie.dup();

Im trying to make a image gallery, that then the i get to the left side of the movieclip is moves to the left and when im in the right it does that way
I already made this using tweens... But i want that while im over the left side of the movieclip it keeps doing tweens to the left... same for the otherside ofc
Im not finding a way to keep it always doing the tweens... i have to move mouse so it animates.
i got something like this:
Code:
import fl.transitions.Tween;
import fl.transitions.easing.*;
//1.
[Code].....
I have screen in which I have a button which sets the clip to lower quality, and I also have to have the mouse event in which when the mouse is clicked (anywhere on the screen), this sends you to a different frame (gotoAndStop). The problem is, when I click on the button, not only it does its function, but the mouse event also does. What I want to do basically is to disable the mouse event while pressing the button.
View 4 RepliesBasicly I would like this to happen on a left button mouse click any where in a movie.
View 3 RepliesThis is the website that I'm working on. Not much going on yet but I have this invisible button that turns the radio on and off.. what I would like to do is have an image of the radio that I made up where the light is on for when it turns on and then back to off for when it's off.

I'm new to Flash and Actionscript. I'm trying to move the mouse to a random button and press it to have the onRollOver and onPress functionality.
I've tried this for mouse-over:
_xmouse = randomSelected._x;
_ymouse = randomSelected._y;
Apparently, this doesn't work....
If this is accomplished, I also need to simulate the mouse click(or button press) over the button. I've tried for hours and am seeing no logical end.
I've successfully managed to call the correct onPress and onRollOver for the random button selected, but these are just the handlers for the events. I need to raise those events in the first place.
I have this website I am developing. It has multiple pages that I would like to connect to each through a flash horizontal menu navigation. Here is a link to the site for your consideration. WebsiteI am trying to make it so that a mouse click is dispatched on the appropriate flash button when the page starts up so that the highlight menu tab will appear over the correct button.Here is the actionscript for the flash:
Code:
import caurina.transitions.*;
var button:MButton;
[code].....
I would like to have a movie to play when the mouse is over a button instead of when it is clicked. My script is now:
btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonClick);
How a button can be deleted during run time by mouse right click.
View 3 RepliesI have been racking my brain trying to figure this out for some time. I have some animated links that activate based on mouse position. The problem is when you whip the mouse over them quickly and it leaves the dimensions of the project, flash thinks the mouse is still there and the links continue their animation. IT IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!! I have a feeling its a simple fix but i cant figure it out. here is the site - [URL] the actionscript is below...probably the most round about way ever devised.
[CODE].....
I have asked before but that was a week ago and ive changed alot of code. I am still having the same issue of trying to ignore MOUSE_MOVE while a tween plays and then reactivate MOUSE_MOVE on Finish. I have tried timers aswell to anticipate the finish with no luck as if i move some code a error #1009 happens.
I have alos tried motion_finished, if statements and even values with no luck as the code will just not function unless left as below.[code]...
got MC A and MC B. MC B is directly under MC A. They are both indepedent on the stage, meaning they are not children of a bigger mc container. They both have rollover events, how can I activate the rollover events of MC B??Im aware of mouseChildren and mouseEnabled, but that requires them to be in the same container...
View 3 Replies1. Im getting the mouse location so that when its at the top of the screen a dropdown menu appears. It works fine on my first two frame, but on my third the drop down doesnt move unless my mouse passes over it.
ActionScript Code:
this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, DropDownGameNav);
(MouseEvent.CLICK, onGameBackClick);
[code]......
I have never used the Double Click before but now that I am trying to apply it to a button it's not responding.
button1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.DOUBLE_CLICK, buttonClick);
function buttonClick(event:MouseEvent):void {
trace('has been double clicked');
}
Is there more to know about the DOUBLE_CLICK?
I'm trying to learn a simple way to code a button's color to change when you click on the button itself. I got the button's alpha to work by doing the following: Create a text field with the word "Preflight" and convert it to a button. Drag the button onto the stage and give it an instance name of "Preflight1". On the first frame of the timeline, insert the following code:
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
import flash.geom.ColorTransform;
Preflight1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, Preflight1Click);
[Code].....
Now when you test the movie, anytime you click the button "Preflight" the button's alpha drops (dims) by 10%. Works perfect and easy. Now, how can I do this exact same thing with the button's color? When you click the button, its color changes to some new color? I've tried colorTransform, but no luck.
My Flex application is heavily keyboard-oriented. It uses 100% of the browser window and I'd like the user to be able to start using it immediately - as soon as it loads. However, it seems that the application is only first "activated" (i.e. the activate event fires) when the mouse clicks somewhere inside it, which is very inconvenient for my keyboard-heavy app.
Can I force an activation of my app at some point during/after it loads? I hope I don't have to display some silly "click inside to activate" overlay every time the page loads..
In certain browsers ([cough] Chrome [/cough]) the focus is lost whenever the user switches away from the browser (or even touches the address bar) and is not regained when switching back. So the solution has to take in consideration not just the first focus when the page loads but also "re-focusing".
In my first AS3 project (not used Flash since AS1) I need to use a custom movie clip as a cursor and detect clicking on a button. Using the code below, the custom cursor works as expected, but I am unable to capture clicking on the button.
If I comment out the first line, the trace for clicking works as expected. I have tried changing the order of the event listeners, applying the follow to the button rather than the stage, but cannot get both to work together.
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE,follow);
start_button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, playPhrase);
function playPhrase(event:MouseEvent) {
[Code].....
