This is the website that I'm working on. Not much going on yet but I have this invisible button that turns the radio on and off.. what I would like to do is have an image of the radio that I made up where the light is on for when it turns on and then back to off for when it's off.

I am trying to simulate adjusting an LCD screen's contrast using two buttons.
The LCD is one graphic on ONE key frame that runs the entire length of the timeline.
Not sure how to start with the action scripting for this... i would like to use hex values if possible, but had no luck so far with my AS2.
The hard part is that i have a text box on top of the LCD on many different keyframes and the color / brightness of the this will have to change accordingly with the LCD screen.
I'm looking at creating some template designs for presentations and stuff like that. The only problem I have is not being able to get the consumers tastes down to a tee. The thing that is letting me down at the moment is that im not sure how to dynamically chage the colour of a graphic once a certain button has been clicked. e.g "say if i have index as my default page and the colour scheme is different tones of red how would i be able to change this to blue or green once another button has been clicked."
It would be much better to have this layed out as 'AS' rather than having many different (goto frame label and stufflike that. Im trying to phase myself out of tweens and focus more on the AS side of the whole game.
I changed the mouse cursor using a tutoral from this forum, but when I press the right mouse button,the standard mouse cursor reapears.How to prevent that?

I have followed Ned's code from another post, whereby if a text button is clicked, the color will change. The code is like

Now if I click on the first button, it changes color and stays like that, which is perfect. If I click on btn2, this changes color and stays like it. The problem is that if btn2 is pressed, it should change color and stay like it (as it is doing), but btn1 should return back to its normal color (black).
I am learning Flex and have an image I would like to changed on mouseover, and switch to another state on click.I do not want to use any of the buttons available in Flex.Does anyone know th code to achiev what I want?
View 1 RepliesIf I have say 7 buttons, each containing text that changes color on rollover using the "Up" "Over" and "Down" keyframes in the buttons' timeline. Is there a simple way to get the button's text to change color when clicked, stay that way, and then change back to the original color once one of the other 6 buttons are clicked?
The only thing I can come up with is writing pages of code for each button that changes the color of every other button regardless of whether it was active.

As you can see that code made the multiple ball go to left and looping over and over again. So here's what I want to do. I want to make a button and when I click the button it'll change direction like click and it change direction to right. I click it again and it'll go left again. How do I write the code for that?
The other is a scrub that manipulates a MovieClip, but tracks a change in mouse position from click to release, instead of tracking the changes in position of a slider playhead. View 0 RepliesI have screen in which I have a button which sets the clip to lower quality, and I also have to have the mouse event in which when the mouse is clicked (anywhere on the screen), this sends you to a different frame (gotoAndStop). The problem is, when I click on the button, not only it does its function, but the mouse event also does. What I want to do basically is to disable the mouse event while pressing the button.

View 3 RepliesI'm new to Flash and Actionscript. I'm trying to move the mouse to a random button and press it to have the onRollOver and onPress functionality.
I've tried this for mouse-over:

_ymouse = randomSelected._y;
Apparently, this doesn't work....
If this is accomplished, I also need to simulate the mouse click(or button press) over the button. I've tried for hours and am seeing no logical end.
I've successfully managed to call the correct onPress and onRollOver for the random button selected, but these are just the handlers for the events. I need to raise those events in the first place.

I want a button's image to change upon click, but I need it to change between two images, one of which will always be on the button. The thing is, I want a button that says either "Running" or "Stopped" (each has its own image). When I click the button when it says "Running," the button image should change to "Stopped"; when I click the button when it says "Stopped" it would change to the button image for "Running." How can I do this?

View 3 RepliesI have a slideshow with keys that when clicked, direct the viewer to a certain image in a slideshow. I did this using some as3 directing flash to go to certain frames with specific labels tied to specific 'keys' or little navigation buttons.
Often I see slideshows where once the little navigation button that represents a certain slide in a show is clicked, it changes color. Not just when it is clicked, but when it is currently on the specified image. When another button is clicked, and when that image in the slideshow is no longer 'current', the color of the button (or mc if that's what it needs to be) changes back to the normal color. Currently, I have the button's over and down states as one color, and the up and hit states as another color. What do I need to do to ensure that when the button is clicked, and it's corresponding image is the 'current' image shown on screen, that the button changes to a different color to distinguish it from the rest of the nav buttons?
