Mouse Click Event And Button On The Same Scene
Aug 19, 2011I have screen in which I have a button which sets the clip to lower quality, and I also have to have the mouse event in which when the mouse is clicked (anywhere on the screen), this sends you to a different frame (gotoAndStop). The problem is, when I click on the button, not only it does its function, but the mouse event also does. What I want to do basically is to disable the mouse event while pressing the button.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Move Mouse And Click A Button?
Dec 9, 2010I'm new to Flash and Actionscript. I'm trying to move the mouse to a random button and press it to have the onRollOver and onPress functionality.
I've tried this for mouse-over:
_xmouse = randomSelected._x;
_ymouse = randomSelected._y;
Apparently, this doesn't work....
If this is accomplished, I also need to simulate the mouse click(or button press) over the button. I've tried for hours and am seeing no logical end.
I've successfully managed to call the correct onPress and onRollOver for the random button selected, but these are just the handlers for the events. I need to raise those events in the first place.

Jun 8, 2011I'm trying to learn a simple way to code a button's color to change when you click on the button itself. I got the button's alpha to work by doing the following: Create a text field with the word "Preflight" and convert it to a button. Drag the button onto the stage and give it an instance name of "Preflight1". On the first frame of the timeline, insert the following code:

Now when you test the movie, anytime you click the button "Preflight" the button's alpha drops (dims) by 10%. Works perfect and easy. Now, how can I do this exact same thing with the button's color? When you click the button, its color changes to some new color? I've tried colorTransform, but no luck.

Mar 18, 2012In my first AS3 project (not used Flash since AS1) I need to use a custom movie clip as a cursor and detect clicking on a button. Using the code below, the custom cursor works as expected, but I am unable to capture clicking on the button.
If I comment out the first line, the trace for clicking works as expected. I have tried changing the order of the event listeners, applying the follow to the button rather than the stage, but cannot get both to work together.

Sep 23, 2009Does anyone know the code for finding the global positioning of X & Y co-ordinates of a click of a button which is constantly rotating, and then secondly the code for when you click on the button it displays a movie clip on top of it -(position of x & y when clicked) at the angle that you clicked it (so underneath the buttons are still rotating so other people can click them where they are)to explain the context, I'm trying to design a mock up of a circular interactive table when someone comes up to it and clicks on one of the buttons that are moving, it reads where the person clicked it and opens up a new box (movie clip) where they clicked it (at the angle) so its not upside down if you are at the topI've included my .fla file which shows the four buttons moving and a little diagramexplaining what I'm trying to do.

Nov 7, 2010I'm trying to find out how to make a simple image gallery which changes image upon a mouse click on a button, when a button is pressed I want the image to slide in from the left into the viewable area and then when another image is selected I want the previous image that was viewed to remain in the screen and then the new image slide across over the top to replace the image.
I can get the images to slide across from the left upon a mouse click however I can't change the layer order so if image 6 is viewed and then I click to see image 1, the image will slide into place however it will be below image 6 so therefore not viewable.
I don't have an example of what I'm after but I hope my explanation was good enough, I've seen this been done in javascript but I have to use flash and am unable to replicate the effect I'm after

The main problem is that every type of sweeping on the screen also fires the taphandler().. how to identify the correct event? I tried to to my taphandler only if(!event.buttondown) but no success.

Nov 30, 2010I am looking for a way to simulate a mouse hover/mouse click. What's happening is a bar is autoscrolling and checking to see if there is an active button 'below' it. Sort of like a bar rolling along a music staff and checking for notes.
What can I use to accomplish this?

Sep 11, 2010I created a movieclip animation that only activates when i rollover the movieclip button. I further extended the frames and created another frame animation that i active only when user clicks the button. So i have a roll over/out animation and click animation in the same movieclip in the same layer. Now the problem is that when i click on the button, its supposed to take me to another page, and it does, unfortunately without the click animation. That means after i click on the button its supposed to first finish the click animation and then go to another page. But when i click, it takes me to another page without showing the click animation
SO I tried the If function, but i seem to make a mistake somewhere and i dont know what to do. Now there is no error in script, but onw there is a problem in link, the button finishes the click animation but it does not go to the tarrgeted"about" frame. here's the code

Flex :: Menu Control - Click A Button And A Menu Is Displayed. Click That Button A Second Time And Hide That Menu?
Jun 20, 2010Basically, I have a button and on click it displays a menu. I want to click that menu a second time and the menu closes. Currently, every time you click the button, the menu reopens. I pasted the Flex livedoc example below. If you click the button, the menu keeps reopening.Now, I rigged it up by setting a var to open and closed, so when clicking the button it does a check. However, if you click away from the screen, the HIDE event gets dispatched, and the menu closes. This messed up the open close var being set.
How could I make this Flex example below show the menu on button click, and then on a second button click, it closes the menu? Take into affect that if you click away from the menu, it closes it.Also, I played around with the MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE event for the button and set the preventDefault, and the FlexMouseEvent event.cancelable is set to false.Changing to a PopUpMenuButton is not an option. I have to much skinning involved.Here is the Flex example:

Nov 12, 2009I have a test button i would like to have play a movie where a graphic expands. Once stopped, I would like to be able to click that same button and have the graphic go backwards. I would prefer to have timeline reverse, rather than lengthen the timeline of the mc because then i have to line up the start and end, and if one changes, i have to remember to change the other.

Dec 6, 2006If I "Right Mouse Click" on a Flash SWF file embedded in a page and click "Print" it prints just the flash, in perfect colour etc etc..How can I achieve this exact operation, but as a button in Flash? So it prints just as if I did the above operation.
As an extra, if you know how - Is there any way I can default the page to print out "Landscape" too ?

The only way to get the code to work is by moving the mouse a tiny bit, or moving the mouse off the button and back on. make a button that can be clicked many times without moving the mouse?
