ActionScript 3.0 :: Dispatching Mouse Click On Flash Button?
Jan 2, 2010
I have this website I am developing. It has multiple pages that I would like to connect to each through a flash horizontal menu navigation. Here is a link to the site for your consideration. WebsiteI am trying to make it so that a mouse click is dispatched on the appropriate flash button when the page starts up so that the highlight menu tab will appear over the correct button.Here is the actionscript for the flash:
Code:
import caurina.transitions.*;
var button:MButton;
I have a key.addlistener setup to listen to key events. What I want to be able to do is to dispatch key events by for example a mouse click or just on load. I've tried a lot of possible solutions such as dispatchEvent with type as "onKeyDown" and "keyDown" etc.... but key listener simply do not treat it as a keyboard event.
Code: var eventObj = new Object(); eventObj.type = "keyDown"; eventObj.code = 13; eventObj.ascii = 'e'; dispatchEvent(eventObj);
I'm trying to learn a simple way to code a button's color to change when you click on the button itself. I got the button's alpha to work by doing the following: Create a text field with the word "Preflight" and convert it to a button. Drag the button onto the stage and give it an instance name of "Preflight1". On the first frame of the timeline, insert the following code:
Now when you test the movie, anytime you click the button "Preflight" the button's alpha drops (dims) by 10%. Works perfect and easy. Now, how can I do this exact same thing with the button's color? When you click the button, its color changes to some new color? I've tried colorTransform, but no luck.
I changed the mouse cursor using a tutoral from this forum, but when I press the right mouse button,the standard mouse cursor reapears.How to prevent that?
I have screen in which I have a button which sets the clip to lower quality, and I also have to have the mouse event in which when the mouse is clicked (anywhere on the screen), this sends you to a different frame (gotoAndStop). The problem is, when I click on the button, not only it does its function, but the mouse event also does. What I want to do basically is to disable the mouse event while pressing the button.
This is the website that I'm working on. Not much going on yet but I have this invisible button that turns the radio on and off.. what I would like to do is have an image of the radio that I made up where the light is on for when it turns on and then back to off for when it's off.
I'm new to Flash and Actionscript. I'm trying to move the mouse to a random button and press it to have the onRollOver and onPress functionality.
I've tried this for mouse-over: _xmouse = randomSelected._x; _ymouse = randomSelected._y; Apparently, this doesn't work....
If this is accomplished, I also need to simulate the mouse click(or button press) over the button. I've tried for hours and am seeing no logical end.
I've successfully managed to call the correct onPress and onRollOver for the random button selected, but these are just the handlers for the events. I need to raise those events in the first place.
1. Im getting the mouse location so that when its at the top of the screen a dropdown menu appears. It works fine on my first two frame, but on my third the drop down doesnt move unless my mouse passes over it.
I have never used the Double Click before but now that I am trying to apply it to a button it's not responding. button1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.DOUBLE_CLICK, buttonClick); function buttonClick(event:MouseEvent):void { trace('has been double clicked'); } Is there more to know about the DOUBLE_CLICK?
I have a parent sprite containing a child named controlBar, whose visibility is initially set to false. When the parent sprite is moused over, controlBar's visibility is set to true, and when the parent sprite is moused out, controlBar's visibility is set to false again, like so:[code]This works fine when mousing over and out of the parent sprite, but then when I mouse over the controlBar, the parent sprite dispatches the MOUSE_OUT and MOUSE_OVER events again, which quickly sets controlBar's visibility to false and then true, and occasionally causes controlBar to flicker. This is exacerbated when mousing around in controlBar, because it contains four spaced-apart buttons, and the parent sprite dispatches MOUSE_OUT and MOUSE_OVER events when mousing from one button to another.What's a simple way to stop the parent sprite from dispatching a MOUSE_OUT event when mousing over its child controlBar?
In my first AS3 project (not used Flash since AS1) I need to use a custom movie clip as a cursor and detect clicking on a button. Using the code below, the custom cursor works as expected, but I am unable to capture clicking on the button.
If I comment out the first line, the trace for clicking works as expected. I have tried changing the order of the event listeners, applying the follow to the button rather than the stage, but cannot get both to work together.
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE,follow); start_button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, playPhrase); function playPhrase(event:MouseEvent) {
I have a flex tree that worked perfectly fine when we set the defaultLeafIcon={null} and the folderClosedIcon and folderOpenIcon to {null}. We decided to put the icons back in and took out the nulls. Now they show up fine, but if you click on the icon instead of the label or the rest of the row, it seems to change the selected item, shows the highlight around the new item, but doesn't dispatch the ItemClick event. This makes it really hard to know that the tree's selected item has changed!
The weird part is that once you have clicked on the icon once and it looked like the selectedItem changed (or at least it applied that style), if you click the same icon again, it will actually fire the itemClick event. if you click any other icon, it does the same thing again, switching the selectedItem and styling that row, but not firing the itemClick event.
Does anyone know the code for finding the global positioning of X & Y co-ordinates of a click of a button which is constantly rotating, and then secondly the code for when you click on the button it displays a movie clip on top of it -(position of x & y when clicked) at the angle that you clicked it (so underneath the buttons are still rotating so other people can click them where they are)to explain the context, I'm trying to design a mock up of a circular interactive table when someone comes up to it and clicks on one of the buttons that are moving, it reads where the person clicked it and opens up a new box (movie clip) where they clicked it (at the angle) so its not upside down if you are at the topI've included my .fla file which shows the four buttons moving and a little diagramexplaining what I'm trying to do.
I am attempting to dispatch an event on the click of any of the buttons in a button array in the document class of my application. The intent is to have an external object receive this dispatch so as to remove a listener for the EnterFrame event in this class.
Here is the Main.as code (document class): Code: package { import flash.display.*; import flash.events.*; public class Main extends Sprite { private var one:MovieClip; [Code] .....
Lets say i have a button on frame 1. And if you press it normal, you ll get to frame 2. But then if you click it on another way, you ll get to frame 3. How do i do that easy?! With another way i mean like shift click or ctrl click or is it an easier way?
I'm trying to find out how to make a simple image gallery which changes image upon a mouse click on a button, when a button is pressed I want the image to slide in from the left into the viewable area and then when another image is selected I want the previous image that was viewed to remain in the screen and then the new image slide across over the top to replace the image.
I can get the images to slide across from the left upon a mouse click however I can't change the layer order so if image 6 is viewed and then I click to see image 1, the image will slide into place however it will be below image 6 so therefore not viewable.
I don't have an example of what I'm after but I hope my explanation was good enough, I've seen this been done in javascript but I have to use flash and am unable to replicate the effect I'm after
I just started playing around with as3 and I have a function for mouse clicks that draws a shape on each click. However the mouse click event does not appear to work unless I click a movieClip object I placed in the middle of the screen. Is there a way to make the mouse click event recognize when I click anywhere on the screen?
If I "Right Mouse Click" on a Flash SWF file embedded in a page and click "Print" it prints just the flash, in perfect colour etc etc..How can I achieve this exact operation, but as a button in Flash? So it prints just as if I did the above operation.
As an extra, if you know how - Is there any way I can default the page to print out "Landscape" too ?
If you press left click and dont release it, and then press right click (contextual menu appears) and then left click again, the first "drag" action is never released.
Its like, I need to make that my right click says: "hey left click, your job is done, you can go home now".
I'm making the simplest swf for a friend who has real problems remembering the actions of a Left and Right click with the mouse. So I would like to show text when "Right" click is detected and the same for a Left click. This at first seemed an easy project but the right mouse detection has got me baffled.
I'm developing Greasemonkey scripts for a website. I do not control the Flash file.
Question: Is it possible to simulate a mouse click on a button/movie clip in a Flash object embedded in a web page? Googling only shows ways to simulate a mouse click on a DOM element, and ways that require the ActionScript to be changed to implement a JavaScript interface. Or is this simply impossible?
I am trying to show the first image of my image gallery when it is loaded. How would I go about simulating a mouse click event that will pass an event value to a function?
I have Flash var array that I want to swap for another array on mouse click. It currently loads the initial array into the empty MC perfectly. Now I need it to swap to var productTxt2 when the user presses buttonMC. My code is below.
AS2 code: var productTxt1 = new Array( "Product Name 1", "Price 1", "Headline 1", "Copy 1"); var productTxt2 = new Array( "Product Name 2", "Price 2", "Headline 2", "Copy 2"); _root.createEmptyMovieClip("productInfoMC", 0); [Code] .....
