Click to Activate and Use this Control. upgrade to Studio 8 has been rendered anemic by the requirements of "more security" by Microsoft and others. Actionscript 3 :: Automatically Activate The Browser's Vertical Scrolling When A Popup Is Too Large For The Screen?

Oct 27, 2011

I have a flash application that utilizes a lot of popup title windows that do not have parent containers. I'm having a problem when users with smaller resolutions try to use my application because the popup utility windows will often be too large. Note that I do not want to re-size the window as that would eliminate a lot of it's clarity and separation of menu bars and tool icons. I just want my application to detect if the window has a height or width property greater than that of the browser's view frame and then activate the respective scroll bar should it be needed.

Flex :: Activate An Application So The User Doesn't Have To Click Inside It To Start Getting Keyboard Events

Nov 26, 2010

My Flex application is heavily keyboard-oriented. It uses 100% of the browser window and I'd like the user to be able to start using it immediately - as soon as it loads. However, it seems that the application is only first "activated" (i.e. the activate event fires) when the mouse clicks somewhere inside it, which is very inconvenient for my keyboard-heavy app.

Can I force an activation of my app at some point during/after it loads? I hope I don't have to display some silly "click inside to activate" overlay every time the page loads..

In certain browsers ([cough] Chrome [/cough]) the focus is lost whenever the user switches away from the browser (or even touches the address bar) and is not regained when switching back. So the solution has to take in consideration not just the first focus when the page loads but also "re-focusing".

Flash :: Correctly Handling Click-and-drag Outside The Browser?

May 31, 2010

What's the correct way to detect, from Flash, when someone has started a drag within the browser (eg, a MOUSE_DOWN event), dragged the mouse outside the browser window, released the button, then moved the mouse back over the browser? For example (assuming StackOverflow was a Flash application):I've tried the "obvious" thing, checking event.buttonDown in the MOUSE_MOVE handler, but even though the mouse button is up, event.buttonDown is true in step 2 (above). So, is there any other way to check the "real" status of the mouse button? Or any other way to handle this situation?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash CLICK Event Not Triggering After Hitting Back Button In Browser

Jul 21, 2011

Our testing department found that my flash menu sometimes doesnt work after going back to a page by clicking Back button in browser (Firefox).

It happens rarely and randomly, yet still it happens.

i cant see any pattern in its behavior and any reason in it.

[URL]

i've tested this in every way i could think of,

it gets ROLL_OVER event, but not CLICK event.

ive also tested it with hasEventListener and it always has. its just not triggering function.

BUT clicking anywhere on page outside flash makes it work again.

Question: whose fault is this? Flash? Drupal? Firefox? God?

UPDATE: it looks like its caused by <param name="wmode" value="transparent"/>.
Firefox seem to have problem with that.

Flash :: Javascript - Tracking Mouse Position After Click-and-drag (down-and-move), Even Outside The Stage / Browser?

Feb 17, 2011

What's the correct way to track mouse position, from Adobe Flash, when someone has: Started a drag within the Flash application (a MOUSE_DOWN event), Dragged the mouse outside the app or even the browser window (a MOUSE_MOVE event), and Released the mouse button (a MOUSE_UP event)? For example (imagine Stack Overflow is a Flash application):

Within the app, I'm able to track the mouse X and Y positions with a MOUSE_MOVE event listener, but I lose it when it goes outside of the browser... So, how do I track the position of the mouse no matter where it goes? For a good example, try Google Finance. Try dragging the chart around; it'll still drag around if you move your mouse out of the browser window, and the mouse will be outside of the browser when you release it.

Also, check out KOKO KAKA; If you click on the scrollbar (make the browser window really small) and move outside of the browser window, the scroll bar moves just like a real one would. I believe both only work because the MOUSE_DOWN event "captures" the mouse, allowing the Flash application to track the position of the mouse even when it is outside of the browser.

ActionScript 2.0 :: IE 'Activate' Fix For Flash MX Swf?

Jan 22, 2007

I'll first say that I'm a Flash designer but I'm not really technically inclined which may be why I still haven't figured out how to get around the Microsoft IE 'Activate' double click problem with Flash content.I have a completely Flash site that's designed with Flash MX. All of the fixes seem to be for Flash 8 or for Flash content embedded in an HTML page. I've tried posting questions on several of the Flash sites but no one seems to be getting my question.I publish all of my pages in Flash, then upload the resulting HTML and swf files to my site. I do not write any HTML at any time. I only write actionscript. Is there a purely actionscript solution to the activate problem? Or possibly an external .js fix that can be referenced with an #include "something.js" inside the flash source file?
