I am making a subscription educational website.I want to prevent people from playing back my swf files that they have ripped.Writing a small piece of code in the first frame that requires the swf to access a link within the subscription portion of my site. The user must be logged in as a subscriber to access this link. If they aren't logged in, the swf won't play past frame 1.

View 2 RepliesI was wondering about MC and hey can help to lag a game out. I set up an advanced class system so i don't have to use MC to simulate walls, all i use isthe x,y,width and height. Well anyway since i don't need MC anymore I was wondering if there is a way to attach Graphics instead of MC cause a Graphics file size is relatively small than that of a graphic, I think. If anyone could tell me thats true and show me a way to attach graphics that would be nice. I haven't tried it yet but maybe if I exported the graphic from the library imihgt be able to call its name, but it doesn't have an instance name so im stuck.

View 4 RepliesHaving installed Amara flash slideshow builder it failed to run stating my flash was not installed or out of date. I knew this was not the case but uninstalled and re-installed flash anyway. I tested it on the adobe site, all ok and also tested it on a couple of sites using flash. All ok. Same problem with Amara tho', not recognised.So downloaded SWF 'n slide, another slideshowmaker. It also failed to recognise any flash installed (with dialog).Following some research I downloaded SubInACL from microsoft and ran it to ensure all my permissions were ok, but seems they were ok as it hasn't changed anything. What do I do now? I'm kind of stuck, I really need a flash slideshow builder, but seems they won't run, why?

I really want it to be like how a messenger works... where the chat window is independent of the parent program and the user can minimize it or move it around the screen. I also need to be able to pass variables to the "chat window". I am thinking about using something like fsCommand maybe.. but I would also like the child window to be a swf and not exe file.What I got is a parent program that will be responsible for child programs The child programs will be started using variables that the parent initializes the child with (flashVar). The child window will be similar to chat windows such as Yahoo messenger.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to learn Flash Professional from the CS5 Design Premium programs. I have the Adobe CS5 Design Premium Digital Classroom to go along with the programs. One of the classroom projects is to add TLF text to your graphics. But it doesn't work. I can get the Classic Text to work but this is no use to other lessons when most refer to the TLF text. Even one lesson file you open has the completed work that you are to refer to and the text is not showing up in it. I have Windows 7, Flashplayer 10, and ActionScript 3.0.
View 6 Repliesim new to CS5 but alot of my Action Script 3 tutorials and books require me to install it, (namely to create MovieClip files). My question is I intend to write software using flash that I can then sell commercially but im confused as to what licence I would need to do that? or if my CS5 licence would need to be valid for as long as I sell my software..... so far I have the trial version of CS5 Pro to continue coding but after reading this part of the user agreement (see below) it suggests that I cannot sell software with any 'output' files I produce during the 30 day trial... is this correct? what licence, if any, do I need to sell my flash programs created using CS5 Pro and will I need to keep it renewed once the program development is finished?

Preferrably something that can take illustrator files. Anything thats going to let me package graphics for as3/flash 9+I looked at swfmill, but does it function with as3? I couldn't figure this out, it looks like it was last updated in 2005 and the tutorial was still talking about attachmovie (which is deprecated)A program like this would be useful for new versions of HaXe as well. I've been looking around everywhere to find a wait function and found nothing that will actually stop the code. I also read up on why it doesn't exist (because after 15 seconds browsers think Flash has become unstable).

What I would like to do is, once some condition is met, tell the parser to 'gotoAndStop' on the next frame AND ignore the rest of the code on the page below the 'gotoAndStop'.Is there a way to do this? I started a tutorial that didnt have part 3 and have struggled changing the code but still cant get my stop button to work with this - loading in sound file.
instance of stop is: stop_mc and of play: buttonPlay. Both are on stage on the same layer, with actions on the other layer in the only keyframe. actually I only have one song so dont need the var, but just want only to see the play button at the start, and once activated and playing only see the stop button. etc

I am working on a project and I have a bunch of AS3 code where it makes an image flip to a second image and then back to the first image. this code is all on frame 1 in the timeline. I want to put some tweens on following frames and then have the image link to certain points on the timeline. however i cannot get it to stop when i play it. it plays all the AS3 code and all of the tweens.below is my code: so how do i get frame 2 and up to not play unless directed to.

I'm working on a music player in Flash actionscript 2.0, because I can't get any codes that I've found for 3.0 to work. So surely it's obvious that I am not a coder. I've made each of the three songs have it's own play button, with its name on it. The buttons play like they should, however, if a song is playing and you choose to play another instead, the second song will play over the first. So the first song is not stopping. I have a stop button that will terminate all of the sounds. But since the player will be publicly displayed, I want to make sure that people aren't inconvenienced by having to use the stop button every time that they want to change songs while one is in play. I'm having the same overlapping problem if a song button is double clicked or mistakenly pressed while it's already playing.Here is the code for one of the buttons. Can I add the stop function to it? If so, how? Or do I need a completely different code to achieve this?
