Can anyone recommend a decent tutorial, add-on or approach to creating a page rip off effect in flash?
I want to create a notepad where each page can be ripped off to reveal further content.
I am making a subscription educational website.I want to prevent people from playing back my swf files that they have ripped.Writing a small piece of code in the first frame that requires the swf to access a link within the subscription portion of my site. The user must be logged in as a subscriber to access this link. If they aren't logged in, the swf won't play past frame 1.

Is this done with actionscript or manually tweening several clips? I can't quite seem to get my head around zooming in and out of several layers. I am currently looking into the Laco tween class as a possible solution, but I was hoping that someone might already understand how to achieve this effect.

To avoid having to keep uploading the whole flash site each time this is changed I was wondering if it where possible to have a notepad file containing the text and when the flash site loads it just loads the text from the notepad file into the flash site.

I want to be able to update this file often, so I thought it would be handy to just "store" an array and a variable in a text file. Let's say in MyTxtFile.txt I had the array "MyArray" and the variable "NumberofItems". I could just update the information in the txt file and it would update the Flash file.
Edit: Would it be possible to store a string in a text file, then have that string put into a blank array? For example: If I had "cheese", "stars", "playdoh" in a text file and then I pulled the string into flash using the LoadVars class could I have the code in my time line set up like this:

i used to dabble with flash a while ago and just getting back into it, i remembered there was a piece of action script that allows you to turn a box into something like a window that would load the text from a notepad file in the same directory as the .swf so once the .swf file has been uploaded and you want to change the text all you need to do with change the text in the notepad file.

I figure I can load the content of my flash page from a notepad file within the same directory.I would prefer to not make the editor use a FTP program, so I figure the best method is a webpage where the person can log in and type the updated text and have it create a new notepad file and overwrite the old one. View 6 Repliesi'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

i want to make a discussion/message board. but a very very simple one. no username, password.. just a board where people can wite one or two lines. thats all.its very hard to find one out there. i think if i can manipulate a guestbook files, i can make a simple discussion board. The problem is the movie seems working when there is a alert on, without at least one alert msg, the code does not work, I am sure you people can solve, I can see that the following code works well in both Mozilla and IE, but only if the alert is ON, if I put it off, then the code does not work. View 3 RepliesWhen i zoom into the page then move around the edge of the page can be moved past the edge of the browser window showing the static page which appears at the start of the document. Is it possible to use actionscript to stop the page being dragged past a certain point so the static page is not seen? On the example below the static page is white so it does not pose too much of a problem however im using the static page as a sort of instruction page and it looks a bit rubbish if the user drags a page past the edge of the view window and see's the original page.
